The experiment was conducted to study the effect of different levels of rumen bypass fat on serum hormone, apparent digestibility of nutrients and reproductive performance of Angus cows. A total of 40 Angus cows were randomly divided into four groups, with ten replicates in each group and one cow in each replicate. The cows in control group were fed with basic diet, the cows in group 1 were fed with basic diet + 100 g/(head·d) of rumen bypass fat, the cows in group 2 were fed with basic diet + 200 g/(head·d) of rumen bypass fat, and the cows in group 3 were fed with basic diet + 300 g/(head·d) of rumen bypass fat. The test period was 60 d. The results showed that compared with control group, the content of serum insulin, bovine insulin-like growth factor binding protein-4, follicle stimulating hormone, progesterone and estradiol of cows in group 2 and group 3 were significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with control group, the crude protein and neutral detergent fiber apparent digestibility of cows in group 2 and group 3 were significantly increased (P<0.05), and the crude fat apparent digestibility of cows in each test group was significantly increased (P<0.05). Compared with control group, the first oestrus time of cows in group 2 and group 3 was significantly decreased (P<0.05), the first mating days of cows in each test group were significantly reduced (P<0.05), and the pregnancy rate was significantly increased (P<0.05). The study indicates that the use of 200 g/(head·d) and 400 g/(head·d) rumen bypass fat in cow production can promote the digestion and absorption of nutrients, improve reproductive performance.
