The experiment was to study the effect of adding alkaline cations in diet on milk production performance and rumen fermentation parameters of Guanzhong dairy goats. 96 Guanzhong dairy goats with the same parity (two fetuses), similar age, weight, lactation days and milk production and good body condition were selected and randomly divided into four groups, with three replicates in each group and eight goats in each replicate. The goats were reared in the same circle. The experimental goats were fed with diets supplemented with different proportions (0, 2‰, 4‰ and 6‰) of alkaline cation complexes. The pre-test period lasted for 7 d, and the trial period lasted for 60 d. The results showed that compared with control group, the addition of alkaline cationic complex in diet could significantly increase the milk yield and milk protein content of Guanzhong dairy goats, reduce the number of somatic cells in milk without adversely affecting rumen health, and the effect was the most significant when the addition ratio is 4‰. The experiment indicates that adding 4‰ alkaline cationic compound in diet can improve the milk production performance of Guanzhong dairy goats and improve the milk quality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
