作品のジャンルが異なるとはいえ、同様にポスト鄧小平時代に青春を過ごした世代として、「詩界80后」と「新概念作家群」には多くの相違が見られる。例えば、今もインターネットを重要な根拠地とした「80后」詩人たちは、民間活動として詩の創作や自主出版を経て、ようやく体制内の文芸誌にデビューし、商業出版とはあまりかかわらないような姿勢を取ってきた。一方、「新概念作家群」は、中国作家協会直属の青少年文芸誌である『萌芽』の意図的な企画によって広く知られていると同時に、文芸誌の連載を通さないで直接に長編小説の出版に至ったという市場経済の原理が果たした結果とも認識されている。本稿は、「80后」詩人が登場する時代背景と過程を整理する上で両者を比較し、「新概念作家群」と「詩界80后」は同じスタートラインに立ったのではなく、むしろまったく異なる道を歩み、二つの平行線を描いていることを検証した。

This paper will examine Yone Noguchi’s poetics and way of life concerning “being a poet,” as expressed in his English novel, The American Diary of a Japanese Girl (1902). This book was considered his first and only non-poetry book in English published during his eleven years living in the United States and England. In contrast to scholarship that focuses on his work from the point of view of Japonism, or his personal life—Noguchi had a child with his American editor Leonie Gilmour, and their son was the well-known sculptor Isamu Noguchi — this paper will focus on Noguchi’s obsession with poetry and “being a poet,” as expressed in this work. Analyzing his idea of “being a poet,” I will argue that this work, though a fictional novel, constitutes an attempt to write about the development of Noguchi’s identity as a poet. The paper is based on the presentation at The Tokyo American Literature Society’s section meeting of the monthly meeting on September 24, 2016.

This paper aims to introduce articles written by Yone Noguchi in the Japan Weekly Mail between January 1913 and June 1914. These articles, which were recently identified by researchers, will be used to analyze his sense of himself as a poet, or his poet-self. Yone Noguchi was the first Japanese poet who published English poetry books in United States of America at the end of the19th century, and in England at the beginning of the 20th century. After spending nearly 11 years abroad, he came back to Japan in 1904 as a well-known poet, and continued writing actively for various magazines and newspapers, as well as publishing books in both English and Japanese languages. At the time, he was one of the only Japanese capable of doing so. It recently came to light that the Japan Weekly Mail carried many of Noguchi’s articles before, during, and after his second visit to England, on the invitation of the Poet Laureate Robert Bridges. The topics Noguchi covers in these articles range from English and American literature, to Ukiyoe, Kabuki, Noh-play, Japanese art, his poetry, and his impressions and experiences in England. Drawing on these articles, this paper will shed light on how his visit to England reassured his poet-self.

最終詩集となったAlmost Invisible （2012）でマーク・ストランドは，前作までとは異なる趣旨で表題を付けているように思われる。本稿は，表題の意味と詩人の意図について考察する。詩集の全47 作の中から14 作品を例に取り上げ，３種類に分類して解釈した上で，表題の「ほとんど見えない」の意味を各作品について考察した。その結果，次のように解釈した。１）行き先不明の旅を扱った詩では，自己の居場所を探す旅人が，境界の「ほとんど見えない」中間領域に留まっている。２）帰宅を描いた作品では，仕事に疲れて帰宅した人が，家でも空虚な気持ちを満たすことができず，自己の居場所が「ほとんど見えない」。そして３）詩人の創造力の輝きが暗闇の中で薄れていき，やがて「ほとんど見えない」状態になる。Almost Invisible は，多義的で「ほとんど見えない」境界にいる詩人が，自己の胸中を作品化した詩論だと言えよう。, 論文, Article

フランス文学の作品中に描かれた舞踊のテーマを探る。約1000年に及ぶフランス文学の流れを中世から現代に至るまで見通して、それぞれの時代に特徴的な作品を選んで、考察していく。宮廷でも田園でも人々の楽しみであった中世の舞踊は、舞踊教師が現われるルネサンスの時代を経て、17世紀の宮廷生活では制度としての舞踊の存在感が増し王宮の秩序を顕示する重要な契機となってゆく。続く18世紀は、鑑賞を目的とする芸術的な舞踊が台頭してきた時代で、舞踊のさまざまな役割が意識され啓蒙の世紀を彩る舞台芸術における舞踊論の発展はめざましく、ジャン=ジャック・ルソーは、新しい時代に舞踊が人と社会に果たす役割を総合的に考察している。19世紀ロマン主義の時代に向かうと舞踊は魔術的、幻想的、夢幻的世界を描き出す。現実は冷徹でも舞踏会は夢を託す場であった。本稿ではロマン主義以降の舞踊の新しいとらえ方を舞踊の世紀、20世紀に向けて探っていく。

讃歌「ライン」はヘルダーリンがスイスのハウプトヴィルに滞在していた1801年に構想された。そこには，当地でのヘルダーリンのアルプス体験が色濃く反映されて，小品「束縛された河」と同じく，アルプス山中のライン水源の地，ゴッタルト山塊を激流をなして走る前ライン，アルプスラインの雄々しい姿が描かれている。しかし「ライン」は，この小品とは異なり，この河がやがて山岳地帯を離れて，ヨーロッパ中央部，すなわちドイツの広い平原地帯を静かに，そして堂々と王者のように流れるにいたる姿も克明に描いている大作である。讃歌「ライン」は，しかしながら，このような'ラインの物語'のみをそのテーマとしているのではなく，この物語との連想においてさまざまな事柄についても語られる。本論においては，「ライン」を，この物語を中心に，さらに「詩人の存在」，そして「神々と人間の融和」のテーマにといて捉え，考察する。, Die Hymne 'Der Rhein' war in der Zeit, wo sich Holderlin in Hauptwil in der Schweiz aufhielt, edtworfen. Darin ist, wie im 'gefesselten Strom' der Vorderrhein oder der Alpenrhein geschildert, der in der Gotthardgruppe von den Alpen, der Quelle des Stroms, reissend fliesst, vom Alpenerlebnis von Holderlin in Hauptwil stark beeinflusst. Doch ist im 'Rhein', dem reizendsten grossen Werk, auch der Oberrhein oder Mittelrhein vom eigenartigen Gesichtspunkt ausgedruckt, wie er die Gebirgsgegend verlasst und in der weiten Ebene von Mitteleuropa namlich Deutschland ganz still und herrlich stromt. Diese "Rheingeschichte" ist trotzdem micht ein einziges Thema vom 'Rhein', sondern ist in der Assoziation dieser Geschichte uber verschienene Sachen darin gesungen. Diese Abhandelung vehandelt die Hymne 'Der Rhein', indem zuerst due Rheingeschichte als Mittelpunkt und dann das Thema vom Dichter und das von der Gotterwelt auf der Erde betrachtet wird.

Sylvia Plathに関わる多くの伝記類が次々に生み出され、Plath Canonとも言うべきジャンルが形成され、Plathその人が巨大な像としてそびえている。2003年に出版されたKate MosesによるWintering: A Novel of Sylvia Plathは、あえて小説という形をとって、Plathの最後の数ヶ月を描いている。読者は、Plath自身が生前出版を予定していた詩集Arielのために計画していた選択・順番に配置された詩でタイトルがつけられた41の章をたどることで、詩人Plathの生の最後の生活と詩作の時間をともに体験する旅にいざなわれる。そこで読者は、これまであまり光をあてられることがなかった彼女の母親としての、生活者としての時間を、詩人としての時間とともに体験し、繰り返し訪れる死への誘惑に怯えながら彼女が求めた生への必死で危うい闘いにふれ、Plathの生についての新しい視座を与えられ、巨像としてのPlath Canonに加わった新しいPlath像を知ることになる。

In der Hölderlinforschung gilt Hölderlins Vorliebe für das Heiße und Feurige als eine sprachliche Eigentümlichkeit seiner sogenannten späten hymnischen Gedichte. Im vorliegenden Aufsatz wird zuerst die Häufigkeit des Vorkommens von dichterischen Wörtern wie "Feuer" und "Flamme" sowie deren Ableitungen untersucht und anschließend deren Vemendung in den Gedichten vor und nach 1800 verglichen und analysiert. Auffällige Eigentümlichkeiten lassen sich bei der Analyse des Wortes "Flamme" zwar nicht erkennen, aber zum Wort I' Feuer " konnten einige charakteristisch-stilistische Besonderheiten herausgearbeitet werden.

マーク・ストランドの新詩集, Blizzard of One (1998)は, どのような特徴があるのか。そのタイトルは何を表すのか。果たしてブリザード(猛吹雪)は起きるのだろうか。これらの点を念頭に置きながら, 4つの視点から考察する。まずは, 消滅を扱った2篇, "A Piece of the Storm"と"The Night, The Porch"を考察する。2番目に, "Precious Little"を例に, 詩集に頻出する風について考える。3番目には, 詩人の問題を扱った3篇, "The Disquieting Muses", "The Great Poet Returns", "Five Dogs"を取り上げる。そして最後に, 日没を描いた2篇, "The Next Time"第Ⅲ部と"The View"について考えてみる。その結果, 以下のように結論付ける。この詩集の世界で, 嵐や吹雪が実際に起きることはない。だが, 起きるかもしれないという不安が, 絶えず付きまとう。例えば, 強風にもなり得る風が, 詩の中で頻繁に吹いている。それは今すぐ起こる猛吹雪ではないにしろ, 近い将来に起こり得る, とストランドは言っているようだ。つまり, Blizzard of Oneの世界そのものが, そんなブリザードの前兆となっているのである。, In 1998 Mark Strand published a new book of poems titled Blizzard of One. First, two poems on extinction : "A Piece of the Storm" and "The Night, The Porch." Second, "Precious Little": a poem about the wind, which is frequently blowing in these poems. Third, three poems on poets: "The Disquieting Muses," "The Great Poet Returns," and "Five Dogs." And finally, two poems on sunset: "The Next Time" Ⅲ and "The View." Through interpretation the following conclusion has been reached: no blizzard rages in the world of the poems, however, there lurk fears that it might blow up at any moment.
