小型超音速実験機(NEXST-1: National EXperimental Supersonic Transport-1)の飛行実験は、豪州ウーメラ実験場で2回実施された(2002年7月および2005年10月)。NEXST-1には、固体ロケットや火工品など多くの火薬類が使用されており、豪州実験準備作業においては、日豪ともその取り扱いに十分な注意を払った。本稿では、豪州実験場における安全の管理体制、火薬類の管理、取り扱い、飛行実験準備作業、飛行実験後の回収作業などについて、その考え方から作業の実施結果までを豪州との調整結果も含めてまとめる。併せて、改修設計の一環として実施された推進薬入りでの「ロケットモータ追加工」の経緯・結果についても整理する。, NEXST-1 (National EXperimental Supersonic Transport-1) trials were conducted twice in WPA (Woomera Prohibited Area), Australia (July 2002 and Oct 2005). NEXST-1, an experimental airplane, has a solid rocket motor and many kinds of pyrotechnics. Accordingly, both the Japanese workers and Australian officers have focused great attention on their safe handling. This report describes the safety management system, the method used for pyrotechnics control, safety considerations with regards to assembly and the recovery operations including the results of negotiations between Australia and Japan.
