To study the effect of rice on water purification and fish yield in aquaculture ponds, two treatments were designed, namely the rice floating bed group (experimental group) and the conventional aquaculture group (control group). During the experiment, the physical and chemical indicators of water quality in two experimental ponds were regularly tested. After the experiment, the yield of farmed fish, survival rate, and rice yield were counted. The results showed that the average water temperature of the experimental group was slightly lower than that of the control group, and the transparency (SD) was higher than that of the control group; in the early stage of the experiment, the dissolved oxygen (DO) content in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, and in the middle and later stages, the DO content was lower than that in the control group. During the experiment, the average removal rates of total phosphorus (TP), total nitrogen (TN), ammonia nitrogen (NH4+-N), nitrite nitrogen (NO2- -N), and chemical oxygen demand (CODMn) in the aquaculture pond water by rice floating bed were 30.6%, 29.6%, 27.9%, 21.0%, and 15.6%, respectively. The survival rate of different cultured fish in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, with a fish yield of 22 557.15 kg/hm² and a floating bed rice yield of 5 234.57 kg/hm². In recent years, the technology of Siniperca chuatsi culture with artificial formulated feed has made some breakthroughs, which has become the focus of attention in the characteristic freshwater fish industry. Chizhou, Anqing, Wuhu, Hefei and other places in Anhui Province are exploring or trying to introduce this new technology in order to break through the drawbacks of traditional Siniperca chuatsi culture with live bait fish. Taking Chizhou as an example, this paper analyzed the economic benefits of Siniperca chuatsi culture with artificial formulated feed, pointed out the problems, and put forward the development suggestions, in order to provide reference for the high-quality development of Siniperca chuatsi culture industry in Anhui Province. [Objectives] This study aimed to evaluate the effects of dietary carbohydrate levels on growth performance,body composition and plasma biochemical parameters of blunt snout bream yearling. [Methods] Six isonitrogenousand isolipidic diets were formulated to contain different carbohydrate levels(20%,25%,30%,35%,40% and 45%). Fish were held in several indoor aquarium tanks(3.0 m×1.0 m×0.8 m)and fed 3 times daily for 8 weeks. [Results] The results showed that no significant differences(P>0.05)were observed in relative feed intake and survival rate among all the treatments. Weight gain(WG),specific growth rate(SGR),protein efficiency ratio and nitrogen retention efficiency were all significantly(P<0.05)affected by dietary carbohydrate levels with the highest observed in fish fed 35% carbohydrate. Unlike the case of WG and SGR,the lowest feed conversion ratio was found in fish fed 35% carbohydrate. Viscerosomatic index,hepatosomatic index,intraperitoneal fat ratio and energy retention efficiency all increased significantly(P<0.05)with in creasing dietary carbohydrate levels. No significant difference(P>0.05)was found in whole-body and carcass protein and ash contents as well as in muscle glycogen content among all the treatments. Whole-body moisture,lipid and energy contents were all significantly(P<0.05)affected by dietary carbohydrate levels. Contrary to moisture content,whole-body lipid and energy contents all increased significantly(P<0.05)with increasing carbohydrate levels. Similar results were also observed in carcass moisture and lipid contents as well as in liver lipid content. Liver glycogen contents and plasma glucose levels were all significantly(P<0.05)affected by dietary carbohydrate levels with the highest found in fish fed 40% carbohydrate,whereas little difference(P>0.05)was observed in plasma insulin concentrations. Contrary to plasma cortisol levels,both plasma lysozyme activities and immunoglobulin concentrations decreased significantly(P<0.05)with increasing carbohydrate levels. [Conclusions] Based on the above results,the diet containing 31.94% carbohydrate was suitable for blunt snout bream yearlings under the present research conditions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
