Taken 10 low molecular compounds( thymol, cinnamyl aldehyde, salicylic acid( SA), sulfosalicylic acid, ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, 3-amino-butyricacid( BABA), benzothiadiazole( BTH), 2, 5-dihydroxybenzoic acid, methyl jasmonate, harpin) as activators, characteristics of the induced changes of protect enzymes as well as the main bio-chemical components in tea plant were checked.The results showed that all activators could induce the increase of soluble protein content in tea plant except for 3-amino-butyricacid, and all other activators could also induce the increase of amino acid in tea leaves. On the other side though salicylic acid, sulfosalicylic acid, ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, 2, 5-dihydroxybenzoic acid were similar in molecular structure but induced a much different change of the main bio-chemicals in tea plant. Compared with salicylic acid, the variation amplitude of bio-chemicals induced by sulfosalicylic acid, ethyl p-hydroxybenzoate, 2, 5-dihydroxybenzoic acid was greater, and 2, 5-dihydroxybenzoic acid also induced the increase of the enzyme activity of POD and PPO obviously. Harpin inducing activity of PAL decreased sharply, while BTH inducing the PAL activity increased distinctly, but the polyphenol contents changed a little under the treatments of both activators, which indicated that there still were a lot of things to be understand between the relationship of PAL and tea polyphenols. With thymol, cinnamyl aldehyde inducing, the POD, PPO activities of tea plant decreased but the coffine content in tea leaves increased, which indicated that these two materials might have some special physiology function on tea plant.
