OBJECTIVE: To investigate the domestic drug adverse drug reactions(ADR) reports on the severity of ADR damage and the application of three kinds of ADR grading criteria. METHODS: Bibliometric study was carried out on the literature of ADR severity grading criteria that were widely used in China. By analyzing distribution of the years, geographical distribution, unit and professional direction of the author cited since the publication, the practical application and effects of ADR severity score standard were reflected. RESULTS: Of the three grading criteria, 6-level grading criteria published by Li Lijun et al. were superior to the other two standards in terms of the number of citations, the years of citations and the geographical distribution of citations. The authors and professional direction of the cited literature were mainly medical institutions and pharmacy majors. CONCLUSIONS: The ADR grading method can qualitatively and quantitatively analyze the damage caused by ADR, and to some extent, it can make up for the insufficient information provided by the current ADR reports. It is of great significance for the timely evaluation of ADR and the post-excavation of drug safety use information. However, the criteria for grading and the operability and accuracy of the method must be considered. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
