In the present report, a dead juvenile red-crowned crane(Grus japonensis)in a zoo in Dalian was diagnosed by clinical pathological change observation, systematic pathological observation, routine laboratory testing and pathogenic bacteria isolation and culture. The histopathological results showed that the myocardium, lung, liver and spleen had large necrotic area, and a large number of blue-stained protozoa(6-14 μm in diameter)were distributed in and around the necrotic area; furthermore, a large number of protozoa were also observed in renal interstitium and intestinal mucosa lamina propria. According to the clinical symptoms, pathological examination and clinical experience, we diagnosed the death case caused by blood protozoan infection. Our research findings could provide reference for the diagnosis, prevention and control of related wildlife diseases in the future. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

It is still rare to report the impact of myocarditis on the diagnosis and treatment of giant panda(Ailuropoda melanoleuca)during the diagnosis and treatment of giant panda diseases. In order to understand the characteristics of cardiac changes of giant panda, cardiac tissues from 11 dead giant pandas in Beijing Zoo over the past 22 years were pathological observed in this paper. The results showed that the heart of 11 giant pandas showed obvious myocardial degeneration and necrosis. In the mild cases, myocardial fibers showed only granular degeneration and mild steatosis; while in the severe cases, myocardial fibers showed vesicular degeneration and waxy necrosis, even rupture, dissolution and calcification. Pathological diagnosis showed that 11 giant pandas suffered parenchymatous myocarditis. From the pathological point of view, this paper systematically discusses giant panda's parenchymatous myocarditis, which providesa pathological basis for giant panda related diseases in the future. Regarding for the issues of failure mode and associated preventive correction actions of partition software when designing and an integrated modular avionics (IMA) system or partition software, this paper identified the failure mode specific to partition software based on the analysis of interaction between partition software and IMA platform. Besides the normal software failure mode, the specific failure mode introduced by partition mechanism included fail to execute interaction, error during interaction ,interaction timeout, and other specific failure. It proposed the preventive and corrective solution based on the health monitor functionality defined in ARINC 653. After a case study of ATC partition software, it5 s concluded that the risks introduced by the partition software characteristics can be reduced effectively with a separated health management function, which improved the reliability of partition software and avionics functions.
