To stop accidents of goaf water inrush frequently happened in coal mine in China, the analogue experiments were conducted on instant and automatic construction of movable floodgate wall (MFW). Under the conditions with or without belt rack, the orthogonal simulation experiments with 1:100 ratio of real conditions in the roadway were conducted by filling with solid or liquid materials. The instant constructions of MFW were realized by taking advantage of rapid expansion when the solid material absorb water and when liquid A mixed with B. Customization design styles of MFW under different conditions, and the their opening, hanging, filling, fixing, moving technology were studied. The influencing factors on the experimental results were analyzed and the applicable conditions of the technology were discussed. The experiments show that the MFW filled in the liquid material begins to take effect in 36-185s, the expansion pressures are 1.03--1.2 MPa, the water plugging rates are 78% -99% . In contrast, the time that MFW filled in the solid material takes effect is 185 --240 s, the expansion pressures are 0. 52-0. 65 MPa, the water plugging rates are 70%-83%. Comparison of the two groups of the data shows that MFW filled in liquid material is better in water plugging effect than that filled in solid material; water plugging effect of MFW under the condition without the belt rack is better than that with belt rack.
