Abstract

Ponceau S(PS) can quench the fluorescence of bovine serum albumin(BSA) in the aqueous solution of pH=7.40.The static fluorescence quenching process between BSA and PS was confirmed and the binding constant,the number of binding sites and thermodynamic parameters between BSA and PS were obtained.It showed that the number of binding sites was 1 and the electrostatic attraction played an important role in the binding of BSA to PS.Based on the theory of Frester energy transfer,the binding distance(r7.0 nm) between PS and BSA was obtained.Studies utilizing synchronous spectra showed that the conjugation reaction between PS and BSA would affect the conformation of BSA,leading to the weak polarity around tyrosine residues and the strong hydrophobicity.The site markers competitive experiments indicated that the binding of PS to BSA primarily took place in sub-domain ⅡA(site Ⅰ).

Abstract

In Tris-HCl buffer medium of pH 7.40,the binding reaction between cefotaxime sodium(CTX) and chloramphenicol(CHL) with bovine serum albumin(BSA) at different temperatures was studied by fluorescence spectroscopy.The results show that the values of binding constants decrease with the increasing temperature,the quenching mechanism of the combination for BSA and drugs is a static procedure.In addition,the competitive experiments suggest that the primary binding site for both CTX and CHL are located at site Ⅰ in sub-domain ⅡA of BSA.The values of Hill's coefficients are approximately equal to 1 in the binary systems,which indicate no cooperativeness in the drug's binding with BSA.The fluorescence would quench to a larger degree when CTX(or CHL) is added to the system of BSA-CHL(or BSA-CTX).Binding constants of one drug with BSA decrease when the other drug is added.Hill's coefficients of the ternary systems are less than 1.It showed that the negative cooperativity is found when CTX and CHL bound to BSA simultaneously.Thermodynamic parameters indicate that the electrostatic interaction playes a major role in the binding of drugs with BSA.

Abstract

A high effect green laser is realized by acousto-optic(A-O) Q-switched intracavity frequency doubling Nd∶YVO4 /KTP laser,which is formed with a simple two-mirror line cavity.The TEM00 mode green light power of 999 mW is obtained with 1 608 mW of an input 1 064 nm fundamental pump power at the pulse repetition rate of 40 kHz.The corresponding to optical-optical conversion efficiency is up to 62.1%.The spectral width(full width at half maximum) of green laser is about 0.11 nm or less.±1.2% instabilityof output power is obtained.

Abstract

A new method is proposed to process facial image in bad lighting condition instantly.Based on simplified 3-D face illumination model,direction filter is used to weaken the attached shadow,and gaussian low pass filter is used to weaken the casted shadow.Image quality is greatly improved by the non-linear combination of the two methods.Experiment results demonstrate that the robust face recognition rate can be improved effectively by the proposed method under bad lighting conditions.
