As smart grid is proposed in the national development strategy, the development of the intelligent substations is developing rapidly, which puts forward higher requests for the comprehensive quality of power system staff. This paper introduces a three-dimensional simulation system of substation used for teaching and training. Firstly, this paper briefly describes its software and hardware environment, introduces its function for teaching and training examination, which contains two-dimension and three-dimensional simulation. Secondly, by using three cases such as the substation busbar earth-fault simulation, substation inspection simulation and actual operation process simulation, it explains the operation flow of this system, as well as the three-dimensional characteristics and application advantages, aiming at providing training for operators and students, to improve their practical skills. This system has good compatibility, authenticity and scalability, can meet the training requirements of the power industry staff in the development of intelligent substation at the present stage, and has a good practical application effect [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

To foster high-level innovative talents majoring in electrical engineering, the “progressive-style” experimental teaching system structure is established in electrical engineering department. Besides, il is clearly stated in reality that under all-new system how Shanghai Jiao Tong University electrical engineering experiment center to construct the experimental courses and teaching experience. The “ progressive-style” experimental teaching system structure comprises four levels including curriculum experiment, comprehensive experiment, curriculum design and practical innovation. The curriculums are scheduled step by step and gradually deepening. By the four-level curriculum experiment practice, the students will have the ability to do the engineering design independently based on the theoretical knowledge. To improve the practice effect, course content, reform methods and curriculum practice effect are provided. Facts have proved that, after systematic reform, the requests and focus from students are taken full consideration, by which the development of electrical engineering education is well pushed forward and facilitated.
