Objective: To investigate the effect of Xuebijing injection combined with thymosin α1 on blood gas indexes, inflammatory factors and immune function in patients with severe pneumonia complicated with sepsis. Methods: A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 150 patients with severe pneumonia combined with sepsis admitted to our hospital from January 2018 to May 2020 was divided into group A according to the different treatment options (Xuebijing injection treatment, n =75) and group B (Xuebijing injection combined with thymosin α1 treatment, n=75), both groups were treated for 10 days. The curative effect, conventional curative effect index, blood gas index, inflammatory factor and immune function were compared between the two groups, and the adverse reactions during the treatment period of the two groups were compared. Results: The total clinical effective rate of group B after 10 days of treatment was 93.33% (70/75), which was higher than 81.33% (61/75) of group A (P<0.05). The mechanical ventilation time and ICU treatment time in group B within 28 days were shorter than those in group A, and the acute physiology and chronic health status scoring system II (APACHE II) score and rapid sequential organ failure (SOFA) score were lower than those in group A (P<0.05) . After 10 days of treatment, the oxygen partial pressure and blood oxygen saturation of group B were higher than those of group A, and the partial pressure of carbon dioxide was lower than that of group A (P<0.05). After 10 days of treatment, the hypersensitivity C-reactive protein (hs-CRP), procalcitonin (PCT), interleukin-6 (IL-6) and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α) in group B were lower than those in group A ( P<0.05).
