Objective:To explore the characteristics and related factors of heterogeneity of critical thinking disposition in adolescents. Methods:Totally 4540 adolescents were surveyed with the Critical Thinking Disposition sub-scale of the Learning Motivation Strategies Questionnaire(MSLQ).The latent profile analysis was used to classify adolescents’ critical thinking disposition.Logistic regression model was used to further analyze the factors influencing the type of critical thinking disposition. Results:There were two categories of adolescents’ critical thinking disposition, namely the high critical thinking disposition group(42.3 %) and the low critical thinking disposition group(57.7%).Compared to the low critical thinking disposition group, those adolescents who were females(OR=0.62),non-only children(OR=0.82),and non-class cadres(OR=0.72) were more likely to have lower level of critical thinking disposition than males, only children and class cadres. What’s more, those who were boarding students(OR=1.46) and whose father had bachelor degree(OR=1.43),and whose mother had junior high school degree(OR=1.28) were more likely to have higher level of critical thinking disposition than those nonboarding students or those whose parents dioln’t have bachelor degrees or junior high school degrees. Conclusion:It suggests that adolescents’ critical thinking disposition is significantly heterogeneous, and gender, being an only child or not, whether or not studying in a boarding school, being a class cadre or not and educational level of parents may be important related factors.
