Objective: To discern the association between autism-like behaviors and resilience within the adolescent demographic. Methods: A total of 7 063 middle school students were selected to assess ASD-like behaviors and resilience in adolescents using the Autism Spectrum Screening Questionnaire (ASSQ) as well as the Resilience Scale for Chinese Adolescent (RSCA). Subgroups bounded by P5 and P95 of the total ASSQ score, a comparative analysis of the resilience scores between these groups was executed. A correlation evaluation and linear regression analysis was carried out between ASSQ and RSCA scores from all participants. Results: The RSCA scores within the high ASSQ scoring group, were inferior to those in the low scoring group. ASSQ scores were negatively correlated with RSCA scores for the full sample (Ps <0.01); Social interaction scores on the ASSQ were negatively correlated with the five-factor RSCA scores (β = 0.23, 0.27, 0.11, 0.23, 0.37, Ps <0.05). Conclusion: There was a negative association between autism spectrum disorder-like behaviors and resilience in adolescents, with more severe social interaction symptoms being associated with poorer resilience. ABSTRACT Research on English as a foreign language (EFL) teachers’ psychology has been increasingly focusing on emotional intelligence (EI), emotion regulation (ER) and resilience due to the significant challenges these teachers face. However, the complex relationships among these three variables in the EFL teaching field have received scant attention. To address this gap, this study was conducted to test hypotheses regarding the relationships between EI, ER and resilience and the mediating role of ER. A survey was administered to 1017 junior high school EFL teachers from mainland China using three distinct scales to assess their levels of EI, ER and resilience. The data were analysed using SPSS 26.0 and Amos 24.0. The findings revealed that the EFL teachers demonstrated high levels of EI, ER and resilience. Furthermore, structural equation modelling showed that EI significantly predicted resilience, and cognitive reappraisal in ER significantly mediated this relationship. These results emphasize the importance of cultivating EI in enhancing EFL teachers’ psychological well‐being. Evidently, EI is a key factor in improving teacher resilience, and ER plays a crucial mediating role in this process, thereby enabling them to address professional challenges. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To investigate the difference of the attention bias of the resilience level of professional technicians in hospital to negative information. Methods: A total of 383 professional technicians of logistics administrative posts in a third-level military hospital were selected and divided into high and low groups according to their scores on the resilience scale (the top 27% of the participants were in the high resilience group, and the bottom 27% were in the low resilience group). There were 22 participants in each of the high and low resilience groups that met the requirements. The attention bias test was conducted on the professional technicians in the high and low resilience groups using the Dot-probe Paradigm. A mixed experimental design of 2 (group: low resilience group, high resilience group) x2 (stimulus clues: negative stimulus, neutral stimulus) was adopted. The dependent variables were correct rate and reaction time. Results: The interaction between the response group and the stimulus cue was statistically significant (P<0.05), the response time of negative stimulus in low resilience group was lower than that of neutral stimulus. The main effect of the cue condition was statistically significant in both groups (P<0.05), the correct rate of negative stimulus was lower than that of neutral stimulus. Conclusion: This study shows that the professional technicians in the high resilience group do not have obvious attention bias to negative information, while the professional technicians in the low resilience group have obvious attention bias to negative emotional information. Objective To study the value of specific nursing based on character color in improving psychological resilience and coping styles of patients undergoing vaginal reconstruction. Methods Sixty patients who had undergone vaginal reconstruction in the Five Departments of Extrahepatic Diseases, Third Affiliated Hospital of Naval Medical University between January 2017 and April 2023 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into the control group and the observation group according to the nursing method, 30 cases in each group. The control group was given routine nursing intervention, and the observation group was given specific nursing based on character color on the basis of routine nursing intervention. The psychological toughness scores, self-stigma of mental illness scale (SSMIS) scores, Simplified Coping Style Questionnaire (SCSQ) scores and quality of life scores of the two groups were compared before and after intervention. Results There were no significant differences in scores of emotional control, future plan, family cohesion, positive cognition and interpersonal assistance between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05). After intervention, the above scores increased, and the scores of observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in scores of negative coping styles and positive coping styles between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05). After intervention, positive coping style scores of the observation group were higher than those of the control group, and the negative coping style scores were lower than those of the control group (P<0.05). There were no significant differences in SSMIS scores in terms of alienation, stereotype recognition, social avoidance, discrimination experience and anti-stigma between the two groups before intervention (P>0.05). After intervention, scores of alienation, stereotype recognition, social avoidance and discrimination experience of the observation group were significantly lower than those of the control group, and the anti-stigma score was higher than the control group (P<0.05). Quality of life scores in terms of mental health, emotional role, physical function, social function, health status, vitality, muscular pain and physical role of the observation group were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Carrying out specific nursing based on character color for patients undergoing vaginal reconstruction can improve their psychological resilience and reduce their self-stigma. Objective: To explore the relationship between family cohesion and suicide tendency among graduate student and the role of resilience and coping style between them. Methods: A total of 3 945 graduate students were assessed with the Adolescents' Suicide Tendency (AST), Family Environment Scale (FES), Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), and Trait Coping Style Questionnaire (TCSQ). The mediating effect of resilience and the moderating effect of positive coping style were examined by using latent moderate structural equations. Results: The degree of AST was negatively associated with the family cohesion scores (β = 0.22). The scores of CD-RISC played a partial mediating role between the scores of family cohesion and AST, and the mediating effect was 3.92 (95% CI: 4.44 3.41), the mediating effect accounted for 43.41% of the total effect. The scores of positive coping style played a moderating role in the relationship between the scores of graduate student' AST and family cohesion (β = 0.06). Objective To explore the effects of social support and resilience on bullied secondary school students and non - suicidal self - injury, and analyze the association between social support and resilience, so as to provide reference for preventing school bullying. Method In March 2023, three middle schools in Jiangxi Province were used as site sites to investigate the current situation using self - made general situation questionnaire, Olweus Bully questionnaire, social support scale for adolescents, cognitive emotion regulation questionnaire (CERQ), Ottwa self - injury inventory questionnaire (OSI). To explore the role of social support and resilience in the chain mediation between bullying victimization and non - suicidal self - injury. Results The report rate of bullying victimization was 18. 56%, and the detection rate of non - suicidal self - injury was 34.4%. Bullying victimization and NSSI were negatively correlated with social support and resilience (r = - 0, 34 - - 0. 16, P <0. 001), bullying victimization was positively correlated with NSSI (r = 0. 18, P < 0. 001), and social support was positively correlated with resilience (r = 0.66, P < 0.001). Objective: To explore the relationship among sibling acceptance, interpersonal trust and resilience in first-born children. Methods: A total of 715 first-born children aged 12 to 14 years were selected to evaluate sibling acceptance, interpersonal trust, psychological resilience and emotional regulation strategies with the Sibling Acceptance Scale, Children's Generalized Trust Beliefs, Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale and Emotional Regulation Questionnaire, respectively. The relationship among sibling acceptance, interpersonal trust, resilience and emotional regulation strategies was analyzed. Results: Multiple linear regression analysis showed that CGTS scores of first-born children were indirectly associated with sibling acceptance scores through resilience scores (β = 0. 34, P < 0.01). The ERQ cognitive rerating scores were negatively associated with resilience scores under the influence of interpersonal trust score (β= 0. 23, P <0.001), and ERQ expression inhibition scores were positively associated with sibling acceptance score under the influence of resilience scores (β = 0.29, P<0.001). Conclusion: Sibling acceptance is indirectly associated with interpersonal trust under the mediating effect of resilience. Objective To investigate the current status of psychological resilience of clinical nurses in a cancer hospital, identify the potential profile categories of psychological resilience of nurses, and explore its subgroup characteristics and influencing factors, so as to provide a basis for the construction of targeted and scientific psychological resilience intervention strategies. Methods Convenience sampling method was used to select 812 clinical nurses from oncology hospitals in Southwest China, using a general information questionnaire, mental toughness scale, potential profile analysis using Mplus 8.3 to categorise the characteristics of clinical nurses' mental toughness in oncology hospitals, and χ² test and unordered multiclassified logistic regression using SPSS 26.0 to analyse the effects of each factor on different categories. Results Three potential profiles of mental toughness of clinical nurses in oncology hospitals were identified, which were named as mental toughness “low toughness group”, “general toughness group” and “high toughness group”, accounting for 16.2%, 54.6% and 19.2%, respectively. The results of unordered multiclassified logistic regression analysis showed that ethnicity, marital status, department, title, years of experience, annual income, and personality traits were the influencing factors (P < 0.01). Conclusions Clinical nurses' mental toughness in oncology hospitals is at an intermediate level, and there are obvious heterogeneous characteristics affected by many factors. Nursing managers should identify their categories and influencing factors when carrying out relevant training, make adjustments to the training programme, and make targeted interventions to strengthen the construction of nurses' mental toughness at all levels, to safeguard nurses' physical and mental health, and to improve their work efficiency. Objective: To explore the relationship among suicide risk, distress tolerance, and resilience in patients with depression. Methods: A total of 130 patients with depression who met the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fifth Edition (DSM-5) diagnostic criteria were included. The Chinese version of the Mini International Neuropsychiatric Interview (MINI) suicide module was used to assess suicide risk. According to the interview results, the patients with depression were divided into suicide risk group (98 cases) and non-suicide risk group (32 cases). The Hamilton Depression Rating Scale (HAMD), Distress Tolerance Scale (DTS), 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC-10) were used to assess severity of depressive symptoms, level of distress tolerance and resilience, respectively. Results: The DTS total scores were positively correlated with the CD- RISC-10 total scores (r=0.50, P<0.01). The total scores of MINI suicide module were negatively correlated with the total scores of DTS and CD-RISC-10 (r=-0.34, 0.34, Ps <0.01). Distress tolerance had a direct effect on suicide risk (β = -0.26, P < 0.05), and resilience played a mediating effect on the relationship between distress tolerance and suicide risk (B=0. 13, P<0.05), and the mediating effect accounted for 33.5% of the total effect. Conclusion: Patients with depression with lower levels of distress tolerance may have higher suicide risk, and resilience may play a partially mediating role in the relationship between distress tolerance and suicide risk. [Purpose/Significance] In the context of the rapid development of the artificial intelligence generated content (AIGC), it is crucial to understand the driving factors of users' psychological resilience and the characteristics of AIGC users' dropout behavior. This research focuses on this area to address the lack of in-depth studies in the existing literature. It aims to contribute to the knowledge system by providing a more comprehensive understanding of user behavior in the context of the AIGC. This is significant for promoting the transformation of the AIGC industry, as it helps to reduce the negative impacts of user loss and transfer, and promotes the sustainable use of the AIGC. It also has practical value in addressing the challenges facing the industry.[Method/Process] This study is based on resilience theory and S-O-R theory, which provide a solid theoretical foundation for the research. A questionnaire survey method is used, which is an appropriate approach for collecting data directly from users. A total of 328 questionnaires were collected from a wide range of AIGC users, ensuring the representativeness and reliability of the data. The empirical analysis and testing of the constructed model helps to validate the research hypotheses and draw meaningful conclusions. [Results/Conclusions] The research shows that psychological resilience is indeed a key factor in reducing dropout among AIGC users. Technological resilience and information quality play an important role in enhancing the psychological resilience of users. Based on these results, specific strategies and suggestions are proposed, such as improving the technological stability and performance of the AIGC, enhancing the quality of the information provided, and providing personalized support and training for users. However, there are some limitations to this study. For example, the sample size may not be large enough to cover all types of AIGC users. Future research could increase the sample size and explore other potential factors that may influence user behavior. In addition, longitudinal studies could be conducted to better understand the dynamic changes in user behavior over time. In conclusion, this study provides valuable insights into the factors influencing AIGC user dropout behavior and offers practical suggestions for promoting user retention and sustainable use. Objective To intervene in the process of the information epidemic s impact on public anxiety through a mediated model with moderation, and to explore the relationship between information epidemic and anxiety and its mechanism of action, with a view to better solving the difficulties it poses, eliminating the atmosphere of public anxiety shrouded by the information epidemic under the public health emergencies, and further stifling the possibilities of the generation of social risk crises. Methods Using a combination of convenience sampling and snowball samplings 1 580 valid questionnaires were surveyed nationwide, and descriptive statistical analyses, regression analyses, and mediated moderated effects analyses were conducted. Results Information epidemic had a positive predictive effect on anxiety level (仔二 0. 14, P < 0. 001), mental toughness partially mediated the relationship between information epidemic and anxiety level 0, 30 (95% CI: 0, 10 一 0. 52), with the indirect effect accounting for 15. 4 % of the total effect; and education level played a moderating role in the second half of the pathway of the aforementioned mediation model (仔二 一 0. 36, P < 0. 001). Objective To explore the status and influencing factors of psychological resilience in epilepsy patients. Methods A total of 80 patients with epilepsy admitted to the hospital from June 2021 to December 2022 were selected. The Connor-Davidson resilience scale（CD-RISC） was used to evaluate their psychological resilience. The baseline data questionnaire was designed, and the clinical data of the patients were counted in detail. The CD-RISC scores of patients with different characteristics were compared and the influencing factors of psychological resilience of patients with epilepsy were analyzed. Results The average CD-RISC score of 80 patients was（59. 55±7. 14）scores. There were significant differences in CD-RISC scores among epilepsy patients with different seizure frequency, age, social support, family care degree and education level（P＜0. 05）. There were no significant differences in CD-RISC scores among epilepsy patients with different disease course, family history of epilepsy, family monthly per capita income, gender, combined basic diseases and marital status（P＞0. 05）. The influencing factors of psychological resilience of epilepsy patients were young age, low family care, high seizures frequency, low education level and low social support. Among them, age had the greatest impact on psychological resilience of epilepsy patients, and education level had the least impact on psychological resilience of epilepsy patients. The differences were statistically significant（P＜0. 05）. Background: Supporting wellbeing beyond symptom reduction is necessary in trauma care. Research suggests increased posttraumatic growth (PTG) may promote wellbeing more effectively than posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) symptom reduction alone. Understanding neurobiological mechanisms of PTG would support PTG intervention development. However, most PTG research to-date has been cross-sectional data self-reported through surveys or interviews. Objective: Neural evidence of PTG and its coexistence with resilience and PTSD is limited. To advance neural PTG literature and contribute translational neuroscientific knowledge necessary to develop future objectively measurable neural-based PTG interventions. Method: Alpha frequency EEG and validated psychological inventories measuring PTG, resilience, and PTSD symptoms were collected from 30 trauma-exposed healthy adults amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. EEG data were collected using custom MNE-Python software, and a wireless OpenBCI 16-channel dry electrode EEG headset. Psychological inventory scores were analysed in SPSS Statistics and used to categorise the EEG data. Power spectral density analyses, t-tests and ANOVAs were conducted within EEGLab to identify brain activity differentiating high and low PTG, resilience, and PTSD symptoms. Results: Higher PTG was significantly differentiated from low PTG by higher alpha power in the left centro-temporal brain area around EEG electrode C3. A trend differentiating high PTG from PTSD was also indicated in this same location. Whole-scalp spectral topographies revealed alpha power EEG correlates of PTG, resilience and PTSD symptoms shared limited, but potentially meaningful similarities. Conclusion: This research provides the first comparative neural topographies of PTG, resilience and PTSD symptoms in the known literature. Results provide objective neural evidence supporting existing theory depicting PTG, resilience and PTSD as independent, yet co-occurring constructs. PTG neuromarker alpha C3 significantly delineated high from low PTG and warrants further investigation for potential clinical application. Findings provide foundation for future neural-based interventions and research for enhancing PTG in trauma-exposed individuals. Background: Post-traumatic growth (PTG) and resilience, regarded as positive psychological change following a traumatic experience, are under-researched across cultures in people exposed to child maltreatment (CM). Objective: We investigated how experiences and the perceived acceptability of CM are related to resilience and PTG in countries with different cultures, living standards, and gross national income. Method: A total of 478 adults from Cameroon (n = 111), Canada (n = 137), Japan (n = 108), and Germany (n = 122) completed an online survey with self-reported questionnaires, including the Brief Resilience Scale and the Post Traumatic Growth Inventory-Short Form. Results: Across countries, self-reported male gender and age were positively associated with resilience, while experiences of physical abuse and emotional maltreatment were negatively associated with resilience. Experiences of emotional maltreatment were positively associated with PTG. Higher levels of PTG and resilience were found amongst Cameroonian participants as compared to other countries. Conclusion: Our results suggest that positive changes following CM can vary significantly across cultures and that experiences of specific CM subtypes, but not the perceived acceptability of CM, may be important for a deeper understanding of how individuals overcome trauma and develop salutogenic outcomes. Our findings may inform CM intervention programmes for an enhanced cultural sensitivity. Across the four countries (Canada, Cameroon, Germany, Japan), more experiences of physical abuse and emotional maltreatment were associated with lower resilience; more experiences of emotional maltreatment were associated with greater post-traumatic growth. Higher levels of post-traumatic growth and resilience were found in Cameroon as compared to other countries. Positive changes following child maltreatment vary across cultures and experiences of specific child maltreatment subtypes, but the perceived acceptability of child maltreatment did not exert an influence on salutogenic post-traumatic outcomes. Objective: To explore the changes and gender difference of psychological resilience in Chinese college students from 2007 to 2021. Methods: By searching the databases of CNKI, Wanfang, Web of Science, APA PsycArticles, APA PsycInfo, Psychology and Behavioral Sciences Collection, selecting literatures that measured the resilience of college students with the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC). The changing trend of the resilience were revealed by cross-temporal meta-analysis, and the gender differences of resilience level were analyzed by meta-analysis. Results: A total of 227 articles were included. Regression analysis showed that the total scores of CD-RISC and tenacity were negatively correlated with year (B=-0.33.−0.34.Ps<0.01). The scores of total CD-RISC (95% CI: 0.07-0.18), tenacity (95% CI:0.19 -0.23).optimism(95% CI: 0.08 -0.12) and strength (95% CI:0.10-0.14) were higher in boys than in girls. Conclusion: The study from 2007 to 2021 suggests that the psychological resilience measured with the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scalein Chinese college students shows a downward trend, and the psychological resilience may be higher in male students than in female students. Lung cancer is the leading cause of death in the world nowadays. Benefit finding, as a key construct in the evolution of positive psychology, makes the individual more resilient and less responsive to stressful demands and promotes physical and mental health of patients. Objective To investigate the current status of job burnout, work-family conflict and resilience among nurses in the Department of Thoracic Surgery, and to analysis potential factors influencing the resilience of nurses. Methods A questionnaire-based survey using general information scale, Chinese revision of Connor-Davidson resilience scale(CD-RISC), Maslach Burnout Inventory(MBI) and Chinese revision of Work Family Conflict Inventory(WFCI) was conducted to 72 nurses. The Pearson correlation and hierarchical, stepwise multiple regression were performed for the analysis. Results There was negative relationship between resilience and job burnout (r=-0. 372, P＜0. 01)and between resilience and job burnout (r=-0. 295, P＜0. 01). Working age, number of night shifts per month, job burnout and work-family conflict were influencing factors of resilience of nurses. Background The mental health level of the prison police is relatively low, so finding innovative ways to improve the mental health of them is of great significance for the safety of prison supervision and the implementation of peaceful China initiative. Objective To explore the relationship between perceived social support, perceived stress and psychological resilience with mental health of prison police, and to provide references for improving their mental health. Methods In March 2022，424 policemenworking in a male prison in a western province were selected by cluster sampling method, and investigated with the Perceived Social Support Scale(PSSS), Chinese Perceived Stress Scale(CPSS), Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC) and General Health Questionnaire 20（GHQ-20), then Process 4. 2 was used employed to verify the mediating role of perceived stress as well as the moderating role of psychological resilience in the relationship between perceived social support and mental health. Objective　To clarify the relationship between childhood maltreatment and insomnia in middle school students， and to explore the mediating role of post-traumatic stress disorder （PTSD） symptoms and the moderating role of mental resilience involvement. Methods　From April to May 2021， a total of 3 412 students in 3 middle schools in a city in western China were selected using convenient sampling method， and all students were assessed by Childhood Trauma Questionnaire （CTQ）， Post Traumatic Stress Disorder Scale （PCL）， Insomnia Severity Index （ISI） and mental resilience scale. The moderated mediating effect analysis was conducted using Process v3. 4. Results　Among the middle school students， CTQ scores were positively correlated with PCL and ISI scores（ r=0. 540， 0. 320， P<0. 05）， and the scores of CTQ， PCL and ISI were negatively correlated with the score of mental resilience scale （r=-0. 049， -0. 193， -0. 132， P<0. 05）. PTSD symptoms exhibited a partial mediating effect on the relationship between general childhood maltreatment and insomnia （β=0. 161， P<0. 05）， accounting for 80. 5% of the total effect. Objective To investigate the correlation between the self-compassion and psychological resilience among the main caregivers of children patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus(T1DM) to provide a theoretical basis for formulating the clinical psychological intervention scheme. Methods The convenience sampling method was adopted to select 92 caregivers of children patients with T1DM as the respondents. The general data questionnaire, self-compassion scale (SCS-C) and Conner Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC) were used to collect the data. The self-compassion ability and psychological resilience level of the caregivers conducted the univariate analysis. The correlation between the self-compassion ability and psychological resilience was analyzed. Results A total of 92 valid questionnaires were recovered, with an effective recovery rate of 100%. The mean score of self-compassion ability was (89. 20±21.01) points, and the mean score of psychological resilience level was (59. 60±20. 82) points. There was a positive correlation between the self-compassion ability and psychological resilience (r=0.992, P <0.05). Conclusion The higher the caregiver's self compassion ability, the better the level of psychological resilience. Background: Stockholm syndrome or traumatic bonding (Painter & Dutton, Patterns of emotional bonding in battered women: Traumatic bonding. International Journal of Women's Studies, 8(4), 363–375, 1985) has been used in mainstream culture, legal, and some clinical settings to describe a hypothetical phenomenon of trauma survivors developing powerful emotional attachments to their abuser. It has frequently been used to explain the reported 'positive bond' between some kidnap victims and their captor's, although scarce empirical research has supported this assertion. It has been used in various situations where interpersonal violence and mind control are reported and where clear power differentials exist, such as in child sexual abuse, intimate partner violence, human trafficking, and hostage situation scenarios. Objective: We propose replacing Stockholm syndrome with 'appeasement,' a term that can be explained through a biopsychological model (i.e. Polyvagal Theory) to describe how survivors may appear emotionally connected with their perpetrators to effectively adapt to life-threatening situations by calming the perpetrator. Conclusion: We believe the term appeasement will demystify the reported survivor experiences and will, in the eyes of the public, victims, and survivors, provide a science-based explanation for their narratives of survival that may initially appear to be contradictory. By understanding the potent reflexive neurobiological survival mechanisms embedded in appeasement, individuals and families can operationalise their survival from a perspective that supports resilience, a healthy long-term recovery, and normalises their coping responses as survival techniques. Changing and redefining how victims are viewed and portrayed in mainstream media. Appeasement emphasises the asymmetry and adaptive strategy used to regulate and calm the captor, thus minimising potential injury and abuse. Background: Cancer is a life-threatening disease in Korean women. Female cancer patients in Korea have reported poor physical functioning and psychological distress after diagnosis. However, some patients experience post-traumatic growth (PTG), which includes positive feelings and changes. Objective: The main purpose of this study was to examine the relationships between PTG and its associated factors in Korean female cancer patients to understand how female cancer patients achieve PTG while experiencing cancer diagnosis and treatment. This study aimed to improve the quality of life of many Korean female patients with cancer. Methods: This study investigated the structural model of the paths from the disruption of core beliefs (CBD), coping strategies, and resilience to PTG in a sample of female cancer patients. In total, 164 middle-aged women diagnosed with cancer were included in the final sample. Results: First, it was determined that the proposed structural model was substantial and had high fit indices. Second, problem-solving was positively associated by the CBD routes. Third, it was also favorably expected that problem-solving would lead to resilience and resilience would lead to PTG. These findings are important for developing future interventions for Korean female cancer patients and can be considered as an important variable to improve their PTG. The proposed structural model observed paths of how female cancer patients achieve post-traumatic growth while experiencing cancer diagnosis and treatment. Background: Maternal adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) are believed to have negative consequences on offspring health. However, positive childhood experiences (PCEs) may be concurrent with ACEs, and little is known about how ACEs and PCEs transmit intergenerationally in the context of each other. Objective: To explore the independent effect of maternal ACEs and PCEs on offspring psychosocial well-being and how ACEs and PCEs are intergenerationally transmitted in their context. Method: Data were 2587 mother–child dyads in Anhui provinces of China. Mothers retrospectively reported their ACEs and PCEs, as well as provided demographic characteristics and their children's psychosocial well-being. Logistic regression models were performed to explore the associations of maternal ACEs and PCEs with offspring psychosocial well-being. Results: Separate unadjusted logistic regression models showed that children with mothers reported high ACEs scores were more likely to have psychosocial challenges (total difficulties and prosocial problems), while children whose mothers reported high PCEs scores were less likely to have psychosocial challenges. When we added maternal ACEs and PCEs to a same model, we found that PCEs slightly neutralised the negative effects of ACEs on offspring's total difficulties and prosocial problems. When stratified by sample, mothers with high PCE scores and higher maternal ACEs were related with a higher risk of offspring total difficulties; mothers with low levels of ACEs and high PCEs tend to report a lower risk of offspring total difficulties. Conclusions: Results suggest that PCEs are positively and intergenerationally transmitted. Results suggest that PCEs are positively and intergenerationally transmitted. Background: Although trauma exposure (TE) is a transdiagnostic risk factor for many psychiatric disorders, not everyone who experiences TE develops a psychiatric disorder. Resilience may explain this heterogeneity; thus, it is critical to understand the etiologic underpinnings of resilience. Objective: The present study sought to examine the genetic underpinnings of psychiatric resilience using genome-wide association studies (GWAS), genome-wide complex trait analysis (GCTA), and polygenic risk score (PRS) analyses. Method: Participants were 6,634 trauma exposed college students attending a diverse, public university in the Mid Atlantic. GWAS and GCTA analyses were conducted, and using GWAS summary statistics from large genetic consortia, PRS analyses examined the shared genetic risk between resilience and various phenotypes. Results: Results demonstrate that nine single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) met the suggestive of significance threshold, heritability estimates for resilience were non-significant, and that there is genetic overlap between resilience and AD, as well as resilience and PTSD. Conclusion: Mixed findings from the present study suggest additional research to elucidate the etiological underpinnings of resilience, ideally with larger samples less biased by variables such as heterogeneity (i.e. clinical vs. population based) and population stratification. Genetic investigations of resilience have the potential to elucidate the molecular bases of stress-related psychopathology, suggesting new avenues for prevention and intervention efforts. Background: Suicide among adolescents is a huge public health concern around the world. Although childhood abuse has been established as a substantial risk factor for suicide behaviours, potential mediators in this relationship remain unclear. Objective: This study aimed to examine the mediating roles of school connectedness and psychological resilience in the association between childhood abuse and suicidal ideation among Chinese high school students. Methods: The sample involved 1607 adolescents from four high schools in Central China. Structural equation modelling (SEM) was conducted to investigate the mediation effects of school connectedness and psychological resilience on the relationship between childhood abuse and suicidal ideation. Results: The prevalence of suicidal ideation during the past week was 21.9%. Childhood abuse was positively related to the development of suicidal ideation directly and indirectly through school connectedness and psychological resilience. School connectedness and psychological resilience were also partial mediators of all three types of childhood abuse (emotional abuse, physical abuse and sexual abuse) when the types were examined separately. Conclusions: Suicidal ideation was widespread among Chinese high school students. Psychological resilience and school connectedness could attenuate the detrimental impact of childhood abuse on suicidal ideation. Findings underscore the improvement of psychological resilience and the connection to the school would be beneficial to suicide prevention among Chinese adolescents with childhood abuse. Background: Narrative Therapy is an efficacious treatment approach widely practiced for various psychological conditions. However, few studies have examined its effectiveness on resilience, a robust determinant of one's mental health, and there has been no randomized controlled trial in sub-Saharan Africa. Objective: This study sought to evaluate the efficacy of narrative therapy for the resilience of orphaned and abandoned children in Rwanda. Method: This study was a 'parallel randomized controlled trial' in which participants (n = 72) were recruited from SOS Children's Village. Half of the participants (n = 36) were randomly allocated to the intervention group and the rest to the delayed narrative therapy group. For the intervention group, children attended ten sessions (55 min each) over 2.5 months. Data were collected using the Child and Youth Resilience Measure (CYRM) and analyzed using mixed ANOVA within SPSS version 28. Result: The results from ANOVA indicated a significant main effect of time and group for resilience total scores. Of interest, there was a significant time by group interaction effect for resilience. Pairwise comparison analyses within-group showed a significant increase in resilience in the intervention group, and the effect size was relatively large in this group. Conclusion: Our findings highlight the notable efficacy of narrative therapy for children's resilience in the intervention group. Therefore, health professionals and organizations working with orphaned and abandoned children will apply narrative therapy to strengthen their resilience and improve mental health. The Resilience Evaluation Scale (RES) is a novel and freely available measure of psychological resilience (factored into self-confidence and self-efficacy). To date, psychometric properties were evaluated in Dutch and American samples, but not yet in a Chinese sample. We aimed to validate the RES in a Chinese sample by examining its factor structure, reliability, and construct validity. The RES was translated into Chinese following a cross-cultural translation and adaptation procedure. Self-report questionnaires including the RES, exposure to potentially traumatic events (PTE's), the PTSD checklist for DSM-5 (PCL-5), and scales for conceptually related constructs of psychological resilience were then administered via an online survey. In total, 484 Chinese adults (females, 66.9%; age: 27.33 ± 6.86 years) participated. Parallel analysis results suggested a one-factor structure for the Chinese RES. The Chinese RES demonstrated good internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha = 0.88). Construct validity was demonstrated through significant associations with hypothesised related constructs and through a relation with lower levels of PTSD among the PTE-exposed subsample (n = 116) via the mediating role of avoidant coping strategies, i.e. behavioural disengagement and self-blame. Our results suggest that the RES is a reliable and valid assessment of psychological resilience to use in Chinese, in addition to its Dutch and English versions. The RES could potentially be adopted to measure psychological resilience in cross-cultural contexts. Psychological resilience refers to self-perceived capacities contributing to a favourable outcome after potentially traumatic events. The RES is a brief and freely available assessment of psychological resilience. The Chinese RES shows good reliability and validity. Background: Psychological resilience has grown in popularity as a topic of study in psychotraumatology research; however, this concept remains poorly understood and there are several competing theories of resilience. Objective: This study sought to assess the support for one proposed theory of resilience: the flexibility sequence. Method: This study use secondary data analysis of panel survey data (N = 563). Participants were aged 18 years or over and based in the UK. A series of sequential mediation models was used to test the flexibility sequence theory as a proposed pathway of resilience on mental health outcomes (post-traumatic stress disorder, anxiety, and depression) among a trauma-exposed sample from the UK. Results: The 'feedback' component of the proposed flexibility sequence components was associated with reduced symptom severity with all outcomes, whereas 'context sensitivity' and 'repertoire' were significantly associated only with depression as an outcome. When indirect mediation pathways were modelled via the flexibility sequence, statistically significant effects were observed for all outcomes under investigation. Conclusions: These findings support the theorized flexibility sequence pathway of resilience, suggesting that the combination of these skills/processes performs more favourably as a framework of resilience than any in isolation. Further research into more elaborate associations and feedback loops associated with this pathway is warranted. The components of the flexibility sequence were not uniformly associated with reduced psychopathology. The path model of following the proposed flexibility sequence was associated with reduced psychopathology, and therefore is more than the sum of its parts in predicting resilience. Objective: To explore the effect of career decision self-efficacy and resilience on the relations between socioeconomic status and career decision making difficulties in college students. Methods: Totally 628 college students were assessed with the Socioeconomic Status Questionnaire (SESQ), Career Decision-making Difficulties Questionnaire (CDDQ), Career Decision-making Self-Efficacy Scale (CDSES), Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) to evaluate their socioeconomic status, career decision-making difficulties, career decision-making self-efficacy and resilience respectively. Results: The SESQ scores were negatively correlated with the CDDQ scores (r = -0.13, P <0.01) and positively correlated with the CDSE scores (r = 0.19, P <0.01), and the CDSE scores were negatively correlated with the CDDQ scores (r = -0.54, P <0.01). The CDSE scores mediated the relationship between SESQ scores and CDDQ scores, and the mediating effect accounted for 77.1% of the total effect size. The CD-RISC scores moderated the relationship between the scores of SESQ and CDSE（β=0.06, P<0.05). Conclusion: The negative correlation between socioeconomic status and career decision making difficulties is mediated by career decision self-efficacy in college students, and resilience could moderate the relationship between socioeconomic status and career decision self-efficacy. Objective: To investigate the psychological resilience and its influencing factors in infertile patients with obese polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS). Methods: A total of 235 infertile patients with obese PCOS from the Affiliated Hospital of Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine (our hospital), from January 2019 to August 2021, were selected as the observation group, and 100 healthy adult women who underwent physical examination in our hospital were selected as the control group. The Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) was used to assess the psychological resilience. The Fertility Problem Inventory (FPI) was used to assess the infertility-related stress level. The Social Support Rating Scale (SSRS) was used to evaluate the degree of social support of the subjects. The influencing factors of mental toughness were analyzed by the binary Logistic regression. Results: The total scores of CD-RISC and SSRS in the observation group was lower than those in the control group, and the total score of FPI was higher than that in the control group (P＜0.05). There were significant differences in CD-RISC score in terms of years of infertility, educational level, and per capita monthly income between the two groups (all P＜0.05). The Logistic regression analysis showed that infertility years ≥5, the education level of junior college or below, FPI score＜37 were independent risk factors leading to psychological resilience (all P ＜0.05), while monthly income ≥6 000, total SSRS score ≥39 were protective factors of psychological resilience (all P＜0.05). Conclusions: The psychological resilience of obese PCOS infertility patients is lower than that of the normal population. The PCOS infertility patients with low education level, low monthly income level, low social support level, long infertility years and high infertility related pressure should be actively given psychological intervention. Objective: To investigate the influencing factors of psychological resilience in patients with traumatic fractures, and to analyze its influence on post-traumatic growth. Methods: A total of 197 patients with traumatic fractures admitted to Changsha Fourth Hospital from April 2019 to March 2021 were selected as the research subjects. The mental toughness of all the subjects was evaluated by the resilience scale (CD-RISC), and they were divided into group A (CD-RISC score ≥ 60 points), 76 cases and group B (CD-RISC score) according to the evaluation results. <60 points) 121 cases. Multiple stepwise regression analysis was used to analyze the influencing factors of mental toughness in patients with traumatic fractures. In addition, the post-traumatic growth rating scale (C-PTGI) was used to assess the post-traumatic growth status of all subjects, and the differences between groups A and B were compared. The relationship between mental toughness and posttraumatic growth was analyzed by Pearson correlation. Results: The univariate analysis showed that the psychological toughness of patients with traumatic fractures was related to age, gender, trauma severity and personality (all P<0.05). The results of multiple stepwise regression analysis showed that gender, age, trauma severity and personality were all influencing factors of CD-RISC score in patients with traumatic fractures (all P<0.05). The C-PTGI scores and total scores of patients in group A were higher than those in group B (all P<0.05). The Pearson correlation analysis showed that the CD-RISC score of patients with traumatic fracture was positively correlated with the scores of each dimension of C-PTGI and the total score of C-PTGI (all P<0.05). Conclusion: The influencing factors of psychological resilience in patients with traumatic fractures include age, gender, trauma severity and personality, and psychological resilience is closely related to post-traumatic growth. Objective: To observe 1he relationship among post-traumatic growth, self-perceived burden and psychological resilience in patients with rectal cancer. Methods: Totally 100 patients with rectal cancer treated in China-Japan Friendship Hospital from January 2019 to April 2020 were selected, all patients were followed up for l year after operation. The Post-Traumatic Growth Scale (PTGI), Self-Perceived Burden Scale (SPBS) and Connor Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) were used for assessment 1 month, 3 months, 6 mon1hs and 12 months after surgery. Results: Totally 18 cases were lost during the follow-up, and 82 cases were finally included in 1he study. The PTGI and CD-RISC scores were higher and the SPBS scores were lower at 3, 6 and 12 months after operation than at l month after operation (Ps < 0. 05). The results of one-way covariance analysis showed that the PTGI total scores were higher and the SPBS total scores were lower in the high-level group than in the low-level group ( Ps < 0. 05) . Multiple linear regression analysis results showed that there was a positive correlation between postoperative PTGI scores and CD-RISC scores (β= 0.38), and a negative correlation between SPBS scores and CDRISC scores (β = - 0. 41). Objective: To explore the influencing factors of non-suicidal self-injury (NSSI) in adolescent patients with major depressive disorder. Methods 130 adolescent patients with the first-episode depression in the Psychiatry Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Kunming Medical University were divided into two groups: NSSI group (n = 80) and non-NSSI group (n = 50). The Chinese version of Children’s Depression Inventory, Children’s Anxiety and Related Disorders Screening Scale, Chinese Adolescent Psychological Resilience Scale and Adolescent Life Events Scale were used to investigate and evaluate the psychological factors. The pressure pain threshold was measured by IITC electronic Von Frey pain measuring instrument. Logistic regression was used to analyze the influencing factors of NSSI in adolescents with depression, and receiver operating characteristic curve ( ROC) was drawn to evaluate the predictive value of risk factors for NSSI in adolescents with depression. Results The total score of Psychological Resilience Scale in adolescents without NSSI was higher than that in the group with NSSI, and the total score of CDI and pressure pain threshold were lower than those in the group with NSSI (P < 0.05) . Pressure pain threshold values and the total CDI score were independent risk factors for NSSI behavior in adolescents with depression. According to the pressure pain threshold and the total score of CDI, the AUC of non-suicidal self-injury behavior in adolescent patients with depression was 0.724 and 0.618, respectively. After the combined detection, the corresponding AUC was 0.767. Conclusion Skin pressure pain threshold and CDI total score are the independent risk factors for NSSI behavior in adolescent patients with depression. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To explore the status and related factors of fertility quality of life in infertile men. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted in 335 infertile men. All subjects were assessed with the Fertility Quality of Life Questionnaire（FertiQol), Toronto Alexithymia Scale-20（TAS-20) the sexual stress subscale of Fertility Problem Inventory（FPI） and Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale（CD-RISC). Results: The total score of FertiQol was（53.03±17.05), and lower in this sample than in the norm（P <0.05). Monthly family income and resilience were positively associated with the fertility quality of life in infertile men（β=0.06,0.62), while semen quality, alexithymia and sexual stress were negatively associated with the fertility quality of life in men（β=-0.11,-0.34,-0.09). Conclusion: The status of fertility quality of life in infertile men is not optimistic, the more family income and stronger resilience was associated to the better the fertility quality of life, while the worse semen quality, more serious alexithymia and greater sexual stress, the worse the fertility quality of life. Historically, resilience has often been conceptualized as the sustained lack of symptoms following trauma exposure. In line with a novel conceptualization of resilience as being dynamic over lifespan, determined by interacting biological and environmental factors, we examined the VA Mid-Atlantic Post Deployment Mental Health Repository (PDMH) comprised of 3876 US Military Veterans with and without PTSD diagnoses. We performed regression modelling to study the relationship between resilience (measured with Connor Davidson Resilience Scale; CD-RISC), posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) severity (Davidson Trauma Scale; DTS), social support (Medical Outcome Study Social Support Survey; MOSSS), combat exposure (Combat Exposure Scale; CES), childhood trauma (Trauma Life Events Questionnaire; TLEQ), and demographic factors. CD-RISC was positively correlated with years of education and negatively correlated with DTS, CES and TLEQ scores. We found an interaction between CD-RISC and CES in predicting PTSD severity (Davidson Trauma Scale). Specifically, high resilience predicted lower PTSD symptom severity than low resilience, this relationship was amplified with increasing levels of combat exposure. Structural equation modelling (SEM) identified an optimal latent variable that represents resilience and relationships between latent variables for resilience, trauma, and illness. We derived a resilience latent variable composed of age, education level, MOSSS and race. Executive functioning has been linked to both the development of post-traumatic symptoms and the efficiency of therapy. Specifically, flexibility processes seem to play a major role in the use of efficient coping strategies after a traumatic event. However, only a few studies have focused on the links between flexibility, resilience, and concrete behaviours displayed by individuals. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of emotional content on the efficiency of cognitive flexibility among trauma-exposed individuals. Twenty-eight trauma-exposed (TE) and 27 non-trauma-exposed (NTE) individuals performed an overlap task in which neutral, positive, and negative pictures appeared in the centre of the screen. Participants were required to disengage their attentional focus from this picture to identify a peripheral target. Analyses included eye movements during the presentation of the scenes and the response times associated with target localization. TE individuals initially presented a rapid overt disengagement from both neutral and negative emotional information. In other words, TE participants moved their gaze away from the central picture towards the target more rapidly than NTE participants. However, TE participants then displayed longer reaction times to identify the target in comparison with NTE participants. This study presents preliminary evidence that cognitive flexibility may be relevant when considering the impact of trauma. Using data from a randomized controlled trial on psychotherapy for posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD) in older adults (aged >55), this study aimed at analysing the efficacy of two psychological interventions in terms of self-reported symptoms, comorbid psychopathology and resilience outcomes. Thirty-three outpatients (age 55–81) with PTSD were randomly assigned to eleven sessions of narrative exposure therapy or present-centered therapy. Self-reported symptom severity of PTSD, depression and general psychopathology, along with measures of resilience (self-efficacy, quality of life and posttraumatic growth cognitions), were target outcomes. Harvard Trauma Questionnaire, Beck Depression Inventory, Brief Symptom Inventory, General Efficacy Scale, World Health Organization Quality of Life Assessment and Meaning of War Scale (personal growth) were assessed pre-treatment, post-treatment and at four months follow-up. Because of variable inter-assessment intervals, a piecewise mixed effects growth model was used to investigate treatment effects. Neither post-treatment, nor at mean follow-up, between-group effects were found. At follow-up, significant medium to large within-group effect sizes were found in the NET-group for psychopathology (self-reported PTSD: Cohen's d = 0.54, p <.01; depression: Cohen's d = 0.51, p =.03; general psychopathology: Cohen's d = 0.74, p =.001), but not so in the PCT-group. Resilience (self-efficacy, quality of life and personal growth cognitions) did not significantly change in either group. In older adults with PTSD, the efficacy of NET extended beyond PTSD, reducing not only self-reported symptoms of PTSD but also comorbid depression and general psychopathology. This study showed that recovering from trauma-related pathology in later life with help of narrative exposure therapy is not limited to PTSD symptoms but extends to comorbid pathology. Immigration research has recently investigated positive adaptation outcomes such as psychological growth. This study tested actor and partner effects between fluid mindset and psychological growth, mediated by resilience, in 200 migrant mother–child dyads from Mainland China to Hong Kong. Mothers' fluid mindset had significant actor and partner effects on their own and their children's psychological growth, whereas children's fluid mindset showed an actor effect. For mothers and children, fluid mindset had significant actor indirect effects on psychological growth via resilience. Mothers' fluid mindset had a significant partner indirect effect on children's psychological growth via children's resilience. The findings have implications for enhancing immigrants' psychological growth by strengthening fluid mindset and considering mothers and children as the intervention unit in resilience programs. Objective　To explore the effect of family empowerment intervention program on patients with radiotherapy for lung cancer and family caregivers. Methods　A total of 60 patients with lung cancer who were hospitalized for radiotherapy from June 2020 to June 2021 and their family caregivers were selected as the research objects. They were divided into control group and experimental group by drawing lots, with 30 patients in each group. The control group was given routine care in radiotherapy department. The experimental group received routine nursing in the department of Family empowerment intervention plus radiotherapy. The patients were evaluated by the medical coping style questionnaire and Psychological Resilience Scale, caregiver readiness scale and cancer patient family Quality of life scale, and the family care of the patients was evaluated. Results　After intervention, there were statistically significant differences in the scores of medical coping style avoidance, confronting and yielding, total score of mental toughness and scores of tenacity, optimism and self-strengthening in the experimental group （P < 0.05）. There were statistically significant differences in caregiver readiness score and quality of life score among family caregivers （P < 0.05）. Conclusion　Family empowerment intervention program can significantly improve the level of psychological resilience of lung cancer patients undergoing radiotherapy, help patients establish a more active medical coping style, and significantly improve the care ability and quality of life of family caregivers. Objective: To study the relationship between hope level and coping style, psychological resilience and social support in patients with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Methods: 137 patients with IBD in our hospital from October 2018 to October 2020 were selected. Herth Hope Scale (HHI) was used to evaluate the hope level of patients. The Medical Coping Style Questionnaire (MCMQ) was used to evaluate the coping style of patients. The psychological resilience of the patients was evaluated by the psychological resilience Scale (CD-RISC). Social support rating scale (SSRS) was used to evaluate the social support of patients. Compared the above scores with the domestic norm, Pearson correlation was used to analyze the relationship between hope level and coping style, psychological resilience and social support. Results: The scores of maintaining close relationship with others, positive attitude towards reality and future, taking positive action and total score of IBD patients were lower than those of the domestic norm (P<0.05). The face score of patients with IBD was lower than that of the domestic norm, and the avoidance and yield scores were higher than those of the domestic norm (P<0.05). The patients with IBD' strength, optimism and tenacity scores were lower than those of the domestic norm (P<0.05). The scores of subjective support, objective support and utilization of social support of patients with IBD were lower than those of domestic norm (P<0.05). Pearson correlation analysis showed that HHI total score was positively correlated with face, strength, optimism, tenacity, subjective support, objective support and utilization of social support, and negatively correlated with avoidance and yield (P<0.05). Conclusion: Most patients with IBD are in the middle hope level, and good coping style, psychological resilience and social support are helpful to improve the level of hope. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Objective: To explore the relationship between the emotion of the first line nurses against the epidemic and psychological resilience in the early stage of novel coronavirus pneumonia(COVID 19) epidemic to provide the theoretical basis for the formulation of nurses psychological intervention plan in responding to public health emergencies. Methods: One hundred frontline nurses of a designated military hospital receiving and treating novel coronavirus pneumonia in Zhengzhou City from February to March 2020 were selected as the research subjects. The general data questionnaire, Chinese edition of PANAS and CD RISC were used to conduct the investigation. Results: The positive and negative emotions score had statistical difference between different sexes of nurses and among the nurses with different post risk grades (P < 0.05). The psychological resilience score had statistical differences among the nurses with different genders, marital statuses and post risks (P< 0.05). The positive emotion had the significantly positive correlation with the psychological resilience (r = 0.885, P <0. 05), and the negative emotion had the significantly negative correlation with the total score of psychological resilience (r = - 0.722, P< 0.05). The psychological esilience was an important influencing factor of negative emotion in the frontline nurses against the epidemic. Conclusion: In the early stage of anti epidemic, the emotional distress of the frontline nurses is closely correlated with the psychological resilience.
