- Abstract
Hyperbaric oxygen therapy characterized by fewer side effects and simple operation has been explored as a potential therapy for depression. This article provides a review of researches relevant to current clinical application and mechanism of hyperbaric oxygen therapy for depression, aiming to provide valuable references for the formulation of new strategies for the treatment of depression. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy has been demonstrated to be useful as an adjunctive therapy for depression, which can effectively alleviate depression by regulating the homeostasis of hypothalamus-pituitary-adrenal axis, inhibiting inflammation and enhancing synaptic plasticity. And hyperbaric oxygen therapy as adjuvant to antidepressants for depression can contribute to increasing the treatment effectiveness to some extent. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

20. 药物联合音乐疗法对缓解慢性神经病理性疼痛的有效性.

- Abstract
Objective To explore the effect of drug combined with music therapy on relieving chronic neuropathic pain. Methods 181 patients with chronic neuropathic pain were randomly divided into control group and experimental group. The control group was treated with routine analgesic therapy, and the experimental group was given music-combined therapy on the basis of routine analgesic therapy. The pain perception, depression and quality of life were compared between the two groups before treatment,on the 1st, 7th and 14th day after treatment. Results After treatment, the degree of pain and depression in the two groups decreased significantly (P< 0.05), and the scores of pain intensity and depression in the test group were lower than those in the control group. After treatment, the quality of life except walking ability in the two groups was significantly improved (P< 0.05), and the routine activity, mood and sleep in the experimental group were significantly better than those in the control group. The differences were statistically significant (P< 0.05);There was no significant differences in interpersonal relationship and interest in life between thetwo groups (P> 0.05). Conclusion Conventional drug therapy can improve neuropathic pain, while drug therapy combined with music therapy can improve chronic neuropathic pain and the curative effect is better than that of drug treatment group. - Abstract
Chinese Angelica is one of the herbs most commonly used by Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practition- ers with the ability of “enrich the blood”. A large number of studies have been done on the polysaccharides and small molecules of Chinese Angelica while the protein composition and of Chinese Angelica are still barely known. In this re- search, crude extract in the decoction pieces of Chinese Angelica was obtained by 0.05 M Tris-HCl (pH = 8.0) buffer extraction and tissue homogenates. Protein of the decoction pieces of Chinese Angelica was obtained by combination with ammonium sulfate precipitation and dialysis which could remove the polysaccharides and other small molecules such as reducing sugars in crude extract. The composition and the biological activity of the protein of Chinese Angelica were stud- ied for the first time to evaluate their potential for development and application. The results showed that Angelica Pieces is high in protein. These protein's molecular weight range from 17.5 kDa to 90.7 kDa and the 17.5 kDa one was the high- est at content, amounting to 47%. Almost all proteins were stable under the condition of pH 5-11 while only a few pro- teins with the molecular weight of 17.5 kDa survived under acidic conditions (pH 3). At least three proteins were stable at 80 ℃. Among those protein, the 17.5 kDa protein showed the best thermostability, which was stable on heat treatment (100 ℃). But some of the monomers of 17.5 kDa protein seemed to be cross linked to from an emerging one with the Mw bigger than 116 kDa during the process of boiling water bath. Protein of the decoction pieces of Chinese Angelica was proved to have the ability to scavenge DPPH radicals which was increased with the temperature and time of heat treat- ments. The highest ability was presented under pH conditions of 5.0 and declined under other pH conditions. In addition, protein of the decoction pieces of Chinese Angelica was proved to have effects on normal cells and tumor cells. Results in vitro experiments showed that the proliferation of human normal hepatic cell line L02 cells was promoted significantly (1.0 - 4.0 mg‧mL-1,P<0.01) while that of human erythromyeloblastoid leukaemic cell line K562 was inhibited observ- ably by these proteins (0.5-1.5 mg‧mL-1,P<0.01). With 1.0 mg‧mL-1 pretreatment of the protein, the proliferation of L-02 cells was enhanced to 550% (P<0.01), while the inhibitory rate of K562 cells reached 18.3% (P<0.01). In con- clusion, the important biological activity of proteins of decoction pieces of Chinese Angelica was confirmed and a pharmaceutical protein with hepatic protective effect would be developed from these proteins. - Abstract
In recent years, there are many methods to deal with the cattle manure in China. Those methods include the gathering of biogas with the fermentation technology, producing organic fertilizer with composting technology, and building ecosystems between livestock breeding and plant resources. Although these technologies have been industrialized, methane produced by these technology, needs to be transformed into electrical energy again in use. If organic matter could be transformed into electrical energy directly, the utilization efficiency of solid agricultural resources could be significantly improved, and then enormous economic and social benefits would be produced. Nowadays, the studies of microbial fuel cell (MFC) have gained the concern of many researchers for a long time. In order to reduce the pollution of agricultural solid waste and promote the development of agricultural modernization, an electricity production device with double chambers based on MFC was built and investigated to generate electricity from cow dung and wheat straw. Two ratios of carbon-nitrogen (C/N) (20 and 30) and 3 levels of solid content (1%, 5% and 10%) were selected respectively to study their impacts on the electricity generation efficiency. The variations of many factors were monitored during this process, including voltage, current, power density, volatile fatty acid (VFA) concentration and pH value. The process of electricity production was finished when the voltage reduced to a very low level that was similar to the initial voltage. The results showed that when the solid content was 1%, the electricity generation performance was better than others. When the C/N was 20, the highest voltage, current and power density were 0.57 V, 1.12 mA and 464 mW/m2, respectively. When the C/N was 30, the highest voltage, current and power density were 0.80 V, 0.76 mA and 422 mW/m2, respectively. After the fermentation, VFA concentration and pH value changed obviously under different C/N and solid content. When the C/N was 20, and the solid content was 1%, 5% and 10%, respectively, compared with the initial value, the VFA concentration was increased by 270%, 255% and 313%, respectively, and the pH value was reduced by 0.45, 1.11 and 0.92, respectively; when the C/N was 30, and the solid content was 1%, 5% and 10%, respectively, compared with the initial value, the VFA concentration was increased by 281%, 243% and 395%, respectively, and the pH value was reduced by 0.88, 0.90 and 1.13, respectively. Additionally, the organic matter, total nutrient content and pH value in the solid-state remainder after fermentation met the standards for organic fertilizers of agricultural industry standard (NY525-2012). Therefore, the remainders in solid state after fermentation could be used as organic fertilizers or raw materials of organic fertilizers. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Musical absolute pitch(AP) is the rare ability to instantaneously recognize, name, memorize and categorize tones without using a reference pitch for comparison. There are two main categories of tests for differentiating absolute pitch and non-absolute pitch: naming note method and non-naming note method. The influences of gene, musical training during early childhood and language environment were discussed in the present review. Characteristics of music processing, music memory and spatial ability in persons with musical absolute pitch were also described.
