The study of metal element mineral resources in coal is the focus in the field of coal geology,and it has important strategic significance for the transformation of China’ s coal industry. In order to systematically sort out the status quo of mineral resources in China’ s coal,to promote the comprehensive investigation and utilization of mineral resources in coal,to expand the development direction of traditional coal geological industry,In this paper,based on the systematic collection of relevant geological data, sampling test, comprehensive analysis and research, Through the systematic discussion, the concept of mineral resources mineral resources in coal is put forward,the concept of the main metal element mineral resources in coal is put forward,and the distribution characteristics of gallium, germanium and lithium in coal are summarized. By analyzing the source, sedimentary environment and tectonic-thermal evolution conditions, the distribution characteristics of gallium, germanium and lithium resources in China’ s coal. The copper and gallium enrichment areas in China are mainly distributed in the two coal-forming stages of the Carboniferous-Permian and South China Permian in China. The germanium in coal is mainly distributed in the northeast early chalk The control of germanium, gallium and lithium metal in coal is characterized by regional distribution, At the same time, combined with the current coal mineral resources in the forefront of mineral resources research problems, the future research direction of metal element mineral resources in China is prospected. Al and Ga resources, widely distributed in coal, are important strategic mineral resources. At present, research on Al and Ga resources in coal measures increases, but it has not formed a scientific and reasonable evaluation system. Based on the characteristics of Al and Ga resources in coal, authors identified 10 main indexes for the evaluation of Al and Ga resources in coal, and built an evaluation system model using AHP-GCA method. Using the scoresgiven by experts, the authors can identify the indexes factors weights of Al and Ga resources in coal. The coexisting phenomenon of various mineral resources in coal measures has attracted a lot of attention in recent years. The study on mineral resources type classification and their combination relationship is the foundation of comprehensive exploration and evaluation of minerals in coal measures. Through the systematic collection of previous research results，field research，and symposium discussions，the concept of mineral resources in coal measures was determined again as the whole mineral resources which distributes in coal and coal measures and nearby strata，and these minerals had genetic or spatial relationship with coal. The types of mineral resources were divided from several aspects such as economic value，occurrence condition，genetic mechanism，phase behavior and industrial classification. The classification system of minerals combination was preliminarily established according to the current occurrence of mineral resources in coal measures. This classification system consists of six categories including coal-energy mineral，coal-metallic mineral，coal-nonmetallic mineral，coal-energy mineral-metallic mineral，coal-energy mineral-nonmetallic mineral and coal-nonmetallic mineral-metallic mineral. Based on the temporal and spatial differentiation of China’s coalfield geology and coal minerals distribution，the minerals combination types in coal measures of five coal occurrence areas were briefly summarized. Multiple metal mineral resources are widely distributed in coal measures closely related to the coal genesis in Northern China. Through the investigation and study of the coal measure mineral resources, the types and distribution characteristics of the coal measure metal mineral in Northern China were discussed. ① Metal mineral in coal measures is a new type of metallic mineral, which has the characteristics of stable distribution and large reserves. It can often form the large or very large metal deposits. According to the occurrence of this type of minerals and the co-relationship with coal, the deposit types can be divided into three types: coal type bulk metal deposits, coal type rare metal deposits and coal type radioactive deposit.② The spatial and temporal distribution of the coal measure metal mineral are certain in North China, and the metallogenic epoch was limited in the carboniferous-Permian coal forming period, in other coal forming period, the metal mineral deposit in coal measures was not formed. Coal measure Lithium which can reach the industrial grade is only in the No.6 coal seam in Heidaigou and Guanbanwusu in Jungar coalfield and in the carboniferous-Permian coal seam in Antaibao mining area in Pingshuo. Anomalous enrichment of Gallium in coal measure only exist in the carboniferous-Permian coal seam in the east Ordos basin such as Datong, Pingshuo, Xishan, Liulin, Yangquan. High alumina coal mainly distributed in the carboniferous-Permian coal seam in Inner Mongolia and Shanxi, and because of the transportation distance with Yinshan northern provenance, the trend of the content of Al2O3 in coal ash in north is higher than south in the plane. Coal measure iron distributed in individual coal mining area in Southwest of Zhuozishan coalfield, and the Coal-bearing deposition is comparable to the Yanghugou Group (northwest type).
