The 2017 Symposium on Nuclear Data was held at iVil in Tokai on November 16-17, 2017. The symposium was hosted by the Nuclear Data Division of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan (AESJ) and Advanced Science Research Center of Japan Atomic Energy Agency, and co-hosted by Japanese Nuclear Data Committee of AESJ and North Kanto Branch of AESJ. In the symposium, a tutorial was given by Prof. Rykaczewski (ORNL) "New nuclear data from total absorption spectroscopy and beta-delayed neutron measurements", as well as six oral sessions, "Nuclear Physics and Nuclear Data" (two sessions), "Nuclear Theory and Nuclear Data", "Reactors" and "Nuclear Data and Their Applications" (two sessions). In addition, recent advances in experiment, theory, evaluation, benchmark, and application were presented in the poster session. The symposium had 79 participants, who contributed to very active and fruitful discussions. The 2016 Symposium on Nuclear Data was held at Kobayashi Hall of High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, on November 17 and 18, 2016. The symposium was organized by the Nuclear Data Division of the Atomic Energy Society of Japan in cooperation with Radiation Science Center, High Energy Accelerator Research Organization, Nuclear Science and Engineering Center of Japan Atomic Energy Agency and North Kanto Branch of Atomic Energy Society of Japan. In the symposium, there were one tutorial, "Historical Evolution of Accelerators" and four oral sessions, "Overview of the ImPACT Program - Reduction and Resource Recycling of High Level Wastes through Nuclear Transmutation", "Facilities and experiments for nuclear data in Japan", "Nuclear data from measurement to application", and "Progress of neutron nuclear data measurement and research for its basics and application". In addition, recent research progress on experiments, evaluation, benchmark and application was presented in the poster session. Among 65 participants, all presentations and following discussions were very active and fruitful. When slender pipes are subjected to internal flow, the pipes lose stability by flutter and divergence in increasing the fluid velocity. In addition, they also lose stability when they are subjected to external annular axial flow. In the development of a piping system in the field of ocean mining, and in the field of fluid energy utilization, and so forth, the double walled pipe structure system subjected to an internal flow and an external flow simultaneously is thought to be one of the important pipe structures. In this paper, the pipe structures are assumed to be composed of the cantilevered beam structures. For the analysis of the internal flow, the conventional inviscid stability analysis method is applied. For the analysis of the external annular axial flow, two kinds of solutions are applied. The one is the viscous solution using the Navier-Stokes equation of motion and it is called as NS solution hereafter. The other is the ideal fluid solution which the viscous influence is added to later and it is called as R&P solution hereafter. The stability of a flexible cantilevered plate subjected to an axial flow is investigated. As the flexible flat plates, the papers in a high speed printing machine, the thin plastic and metal films, the fluttering flag are enumerated. The fluid is assumed to be treated as an ideal fluid in a subsonic domain, and the fluid pressure is calculated using the velocity potential theory. The coupled equation of motion of a flexible cantilevered plate is derived taking into consideration with the added mass, added damping and added stiffness respectively. The complex eigenvalue analysis is performed for the stability analysis. In order to consider the accuracy of dynamic stability analysis, three stability analysis methods are performed. Firstly, the analysis method based on boundary conditions in the half space surrounded by the leading edge and the trailing edge of a plate is performed. Hereafter, let's call it the coupled solution. Secondly, the analysis method based on the non circulatory aerodynamic theory is performed. Let's call it the non circulatory solution. Thirdly, the analysis method which fulfills the Kutta's condition is performed. Let's call it the circulatory solution. The following matters are clarified through the comparison of three solutions. When the mass ratio of a fluid system for a structure system is small, the flutter of the lower mode such as a second mode become predominant. And, when the mass ratio is large, the higher mode flutter appears. The critical flow velocity of the circulatory solution becomes lower than those of the coupled solution and the non circulatory solution when the mass ratio becomes low. The molecular models developed recently for use in the Monte Carlo simulation of rarefied real gases are briefly discussed., 希薄実在気体のモンテカルロシミュレーションに用いるため最近開発した分子モデルの概略を述べた。

HOPE (H-2 Orbiting Plane) has many onboard electronic equipment such as a guidance control system and a communication and data handling system which generate a large amount of heat. Heat is also generated when a fuel cell system generates electric power or when an actuator system including auxiliary processing systems is in operation. In addition, heat also comes from the outside of the spacecraft by aerodynamic heating. Thus, a thermal control system is necessary for maintaining the inner environment of HOPE within desired temperature ranges. In this report, components of the HOPE heat control system comprising a single phase fluid loop with freon as a cooling medium and an independent actuator cooling were described. They were a water evaporator, an ammonia cooling evaporator, a water boiler, cold plates, and heat exchangers., HOPE(H-2ロケット打上げ型有翼回収機)には、誘導制御系・通信データ処理系などの多くの搭載電子機器があり、これらから多量の熱が発生する。また燃料電池系において電力を生成する際や、補助処理装置を含めたアクチュエータ系作動時も熱が発生する。加えて、空力加熱により機外から浸入する熱がある。従って、HOPEの内部環境を要求温度範囲に保つための熱制御系システムが必要である。本稿では、フレオンを冷媒とした1相流ループと、それと独立したアクチュエータ系冷却ループから構成されるHOPEの熱制御系システムにおける要素、すなわち、水蒸発器、アンモニア冷却蒸発器、水ボイラ、コールドプレート、熱交換器の機能・特性・形態について概説した。

After five years of operation, LANDSAT 3 retired from the operation in March 1983. Onboard two RBV (Return Beam Vidicon Camera) of this satellite had non-uniform sensitivity called shading on the photo-electric plane, so that the LANDSAT ground stations in the world, which had only correction coefficient before the launch of the satellite, experienced a lot of difficulty in correcting the data. The Earth Observation Center periodically gathered the correction ramp data every 10 days and modified the correction coefficients based on these data, in order to reprocess the data. The correction of ramp data is only means for the quantitative evaluation of the sensitivity characteristics of RBV in the space environment. The analyses of these data will contribute to the development of the sensor correction system and the data processing algorithm on the ground., ランドサット3号は5年間の運用の後1983年3月に引退した。同衛星に搭載された2台のRBV(リターン・ビーム・ビジコン・カメラ)はシェーディングと呼ばれる光電面の感度の不均一性を持っており、打ち上げ前の補正係数しか持っていない世界中のランドサット地上局はその補正に苦労した。地球観測センターはランドサット地上局の中で唯一、校正ランプデータを10日毎に定期的に受信し、そのデータを基に補正係数を更新し補正処理を行った。校正ランプデータは宇宙環境におけるRBVの感度特性を定量的に評価できる唯一の手段であり、その解析結果は今後のセンサー校正システム及び地上処理アルゴリズムの開発の参考となる。

A code of the 'Rarefied Gas Numerical Wind Tunnel (RGNWT)' developed for the Monte Carlo direct simulation of rarefied gas flows is paralleled to work on the Numerical Wind Tunnel (NWT) parallel vector computer system. Some simulation results indicate that the NWT is preferable to the Monte Carlo direct simulation of rarefied gas flows., 希薄気体流れのモンテカルロ直接シミュレーションのため開発した｢希薄気体数値風洞(RGNWT)｣コードを航空宇宙技術研究所の並列処理ベクトル計算機システム(NWT)上で動かすべく並列化した。シミュレーションを行った結果によれば、NWTは希薄気体流れのモンテカルロ直接シミュレーションに適している。

Microgravity floats a glass sample so that the expansion and deforming characteristics of glass in the temperature range below its deforming temperature to the melting temperature can be observed continuously without any disturbance. The images of VTR aboard Spacelab were analyzed by measuring the length of a diagonal line, which runs in a horizontal direction of the image, on snap shots taken at various heating time. Using the temperature-deformation relation on the earth, the temperature volume relation was obtained. The relation clearly shows an abrupt increase of specific volume in the temperature range around 380 C, which is the glass transformation temperature of the sample. Although the temperature at which the corner of the specimen start to melt was expected to be a little above 600 C, the corresponding experimental time was during the first black-out period. After the black-out, all the corners except one melted until 622 C, and then the specimen became an onion-like shape. At about 640 C, some bubble formation was observed on the surface of the melted glass and the sample expanded so that the supporting pins stuck into the sample. A large bubble also became noticeable. At this temperature, sample volume calculated by assuming an ellipsoidal geometry much exceeded that estimated by an extrapolation from lower temperature. The image at the highest heating temperature could not be obtained due to the second black-out, but the remained shape of gold foils suggests the maximum targeted temperature was below 1200 C., 無重力下では、ガラス融液を浮遊させることができるので、室温のガラス状態から高温の溶融状態まで体積変化などの挙動が連続的に観察できる。イメージ炉によるガラスの加熱状況も得られるので、宇宙空間でのガラスの製造･加工のための基礎知識が得られる。スペースラボに搭載したVTRのテープを画像解析し、ガラスの温度体積の関係を求めた。すなわち、地上実験における変形温度の関係図と、静止画像における立方体の対角線の長さの変化を追跡することにより、温度体積の関係を得た。380度C付近で温度体積の直線が急激に変化する様子を観察した。600度Cを越えたとき、試験片の角が変形し始めると期待したが、その時刻に交信不能域に入ってしまった。再交信後の622度Cで、下部の1つの角を除き、全ての角が溶融した。このとき、画像を回転楕円体と仮定して体積を求めると、予想以上の大きな値となった。これは、溶融体内部に気泡が発生したため、見掛け上、体積が増加したためと考えられる。このときより体積測定は不可能となった。その後、試験片の形状は、タマネギ状となった。約640度Cのとき、溶融体の表面に発泡と思われる変化を観察し、全体が膨脹し、支持棒にガラスがめり込む形となった。なお、到達した最高温度は、全箔が溶融しなかったことから1200度C以下であった。

The Statistical Inelastic Cross Section (SICS(D)) model developed for the Monte Carlo simulation of molecules with discrete rotational energy is used for the direct simulation of rarefied nitrogen gases contained between two parallel plates at a small temperature difference and hypersonic rarefied nitrogen gas flows around a circular cylinder. The density distributions between the plates are in reasonable agreement with the experimental results for the reflection coefficient alpha = 0.60 - 0.76. The rotational distribution in front of the cylinder shows the bimodal Boltzmann distribution consistent with the measurement., 離散的回転エネルギーをもつ分子のモンテカルロシミュレーションのため開発した統計的非弾性衝突断面積モデルを用い、わずかな温度差をもつ2つの平板間の希薄窒素気体および円柱のまわりの極超音速希薄窒素気流の直接シミュレーションを行った。平板間の密度分布は、反射係数α=0.60〜0.76の範囲で実験結果と大体の一致を示す。円柱の前面における回転エネルギー分布は、実測と同様に双モードボルツマン分布を示す。

The Monte Carlo direct simulation of the interaction of a Reaction Control System (RCS) nitrogen jet with a hypersonic rarefied nitrogen flow in the corner region of two perpendicular flat plates is performed using the Improved Null-collision (INC) technique. The molecular model is taken as the Variable Soft Sphere (VSS) model for elastic collisions and the Statistical Inelastic Cross Section (SICS) model for rotationally inelastic collisions. The plate surface pressure is compared with the experimental results provided by the European Space Agency (ESA)., 2枚の直交平板のコーナ領域における、姿勢制御システム(RCS)用窒素分子ジェットと極超音速窒素分子希薄気流の干渉の、モンテカルロ直接シミュレーションを改良型擬衝突(INC)法を用いて行った。分子モデルは、弾性衝突に対して可変性軟球(VSS)モデルを、回転非弾性衝突に対して統計的非弾性断面積(SICS)分子モデルを用いた。平板表面圧を欧州宇宙機関(ESA)から提供された実験結果と比較した。

原子力機構-東海タンデム加速器施設は、高性能で多様な重イオンビームを提供できることから、原子核物理、原子核化学、核医学用RI生成、原子物理、照射効果などの基礎科学研究への利用を推進してきた。2011年3月に発生した東北地方太平洋沖地震など、タンデム加速器を取り巻く情勢は大きく変化している。このような状況であるが異分野の研究者間で活発な討論を行うため、しばらく中断していたワークショップ「タンデム領域の重イオン科学」を開催することとした。本研究会では、ここ数年間で得た成果を報告していただくとともに、各分野の最近の研究動向を概説した。本研究会は、2013年7月2、3日、原子力科学研究所研究1棟において、約60名の参加のもと、20件の口頭発表と28件のポスター発表が行われた。本報告集は、研究会で口頭発表されたスライドをまとめた資料集である。, The facility of the JAEA-Tokai tandem accelerator has been contributing toward advancing heavy ion science researches in the fields of nuclear physics, nuclear chemistry, production of RI for nuclear medicine, atomic physics, radiation effects, and so on. Due to the 2011 off the Pacific coast of Tohoku Earthquake and all that, situation revolving around the JAEA-Tokai tandem accelerator was greatly-changed. For active discussions of this situation among scientists in the different fields, the workshop "Heavy Ion Science in Tandem Energy Region" was held although there has been no such workshop for many years. The users of the JAEA-Tokai tandem accelerators made presentations of their research achievements in the last few years and reviewed the recent research trend of each fields. This workshop was held at Research building No.1 in Nuclear Research Institute on July 2nd and 3rd in 2013, having 20 oral presentations and 28 posters, and successfully carried out with as many as 60 participants and a lot of serious discussions. 論説

東海タンデム加速器施設では、隔年でタンデム研究会を開催してきた。今年度の研究会は、10万運転時間を達成したことを記念し、タンデム加速器施設でこれまでに実施された研究・開発を総括し、過去に学ぶと同時に、現在進められている研究や将来の研究・開発計画を議論した。また、これまでの研究会と同じく、加速器・原子核物理・原子核化学・照射効果・原子物理などの研究分野の枠を越えて活発な討論が行えるようにし、施設と研究を相乗的に発展させることをめざした。記念講演として、電子線ホログラフィーの開発等で著名な研究者である外村彰博士(日立製作所フェロー)をお招きし、「電子線で見る超伝導体中の磁束構造」と題した講演を頂いた。タンデム専門部会長の久保野茂・東京大学教授からは、「タンデム加速器への今後の期待」をお寄せ頂いた。研究会は、1月6sim7日、原子力科学研究所・先端基礎研究交流棟において、約120名の参加のもと、24件の口頭発表と48件のポスター発表により、盛況に執り行われた。本報告は、記念講演会と研究会で口頭発表されたスライドをまとめた資料集である。, Workshop of the JAEA-Tokai tandem accelerator was held every two years. As a memorial of 100,000-hour operation of the tandem accelerator, we reviewed developments and experiments carried out so far, together with discussion of experiments in progress and in future. As previous series of workshops, we offered an opportunity to have active discussion among scientists of different fields including accelerator, nuclear physics, nuclear chemistry, radiation effects, atomic physics and so on, aiming at extending facility and research interactively. As a memorial lecture, Dr. Akira Tonomura, fellow of Hitachi, Ltd., delivered a lecture titled "Structure of magnetic flux observed by electron beam". Prof. Shigeru Kubono of University of Tokyo encouraged us through a talk of "Expectations for the JAEA-Tokai tandem accelerator".
