[Objective] The present paper aimed to study the soil nutrients and soil microbial activity of different tillage system in orchard. [Method] Field control experiment and laboratory analysis were conducted to study soil nutrients and microbial activities under different tillage system. [Result] Under different tillage system, soil pH was slightly acidic, and opposite volume weight, which showed no tillage > ploughed tillage > rotary tillage; Soil fertility (soil organic matter and total nitrogen) and available nutrients (available phosphorus, available nitrogen and available potassium) of different tillage system had the same variation trend which showed rotary tillage > ploughed tillage > no tillage, while there was no significantly difference of different tillage system in soil total phosphorus (P>0.05) ; Compared with no tillage, there was a significant increase in soil total microbial quantity and soil enzyme activity (invertase, dehydrogenase, urease and phosphatase), which ordered rotary tillage > ploughed tillage > no tillage under rotary tillage and ploughed tillage. Soil microbial activity was from 0. 38 to 0. 69 in order of rotary tillage > ploughed tillage > no tillage with the significant difference (P <0.05). [Conclusion] Overall, the soil microbial biomass carbon turnover rate was higher than the soil microbial biomass nitrogen turnover, which indicated that the microbial biomass carbon updated faster than microbial biomass nitrogen.
