Abstract: Elongated styloid process is the main anatomical abnormality leading to carotid dissection, and the patient with ischemic stroke caused by carotid dissection associated with elongated styloid process was reported here. The patient had a long-standing history of frequent head down and head lift work and CTA with three-dimensional reconstruction showed bilateral elongated styloid processes. Left internal carotid artery dissection due to long-term mechanical injury was the underlying cause of this ischemic stroke, and arterial dissection was repaired well after stenting in the left internal carotid artery. Adequate attention should be paid to ischemic stroke associated with styloid process syndrome to reduce the risk of recurrent stroke.

我国的卒中发病率仍在持续上升，每年新发病例占全球的四分之一。在我国40岁及以上的人群中，缺血性卒中约占所有卒中类型的86.8%。自2019年中国脑血管病临床管理指南发布以来，缺血性卒中急性期再灌注治疗及二级预防抗血小板治疗等领域取得了多项进展。本指南就缺血性卒中急性期评估及诊断、再灌注治疗、抗血小板治疗、其他治疗、常规支持治疗及并发症管理、病因及发病机制的早期评估和诊断、针对病因和发病机制的干预、危险因素管理及长期干预更新推荐意见。 Abstract: The incidence of stroke in the Chinese population is still on the rise, accounting for nearly one-fourth of the global annual stroke cases. Among adults aged 40 or above in China, ischaemic stroke (IS) accounted for approximately 86.8% of all strokes. Since the publication of the 2019 Chinese Stroke Association guidelines, notable advancements have emerged in acute-phase reperfusion therapy and antiplatelet treatments for secondary prevention in IS. The guidelines have provided updated recommendations on evaluation and diagnosis of acute phase of ischaemic stroke, reperfusion therapy, antiplatelet therapy, other treatments in the acute phase, general supportive treatment and complications management, early evaluation and diagnosis of aetiology and pathogenesis, interventions targeting aetiology and pathogenesis, risk factors management, and long-term intervention.

Biomass hydrothermal conversion has garnered significant interest among researchers due to its broad adaptability to raw materials, cost-effectiveness, and high conversion efficiency. Utilizing CO2 as the filling gas for hydrothermal reactions not only contributes to reducing atmospheric carbon emissions but also enhances the efficiency of biomass conversion. Despite these advantages, the mechanisms for hydrothermal conversion of biomass in a CO2 atmosphere remain poorly understood, particularly the impact of inherent inorganic constituents under such conditions. This study employed corn stalk as biomass feedstock, which underwent a pre-treatment process involving rinsing deionized water, hydrochloric acid, and acetic acid. The influence of different solvents on the organic and inorganic compositions of corn stalk was investigated by means of elemental analysis, industrial analysis, three component (hemicellulose, cellulose, and lignin) analysis and X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer (XRF). Subsequent hydrothermal experiments were carried out using the biomass samples before and after the washing pretreatment under a CO2 atmosphere (3.7 MPa, 270 ℃). The research examined the solubility of CO2 in the hydrothermal liquid and the characteristics of the hydrothermal products from various feedstocks to determine how changes in the organic/inorganic compositions of corn stalk due to the pretreatment affect the CO2 hydrothermal process. The results revealed that water washing pretreatment effectively removed inorganic elements from corn stalk, while it had lessimpact on the organic components. Acetic acid washing pretreatment demonstrated a robust removal capability, achieving an elimination rate exceeding 95% for major inorganic elements in corn stalk, such as potassium (K), calcium (Ca), and chlorine (Cl), etc. However, the influence of acetic acid washing on the organic components remained marginal; the removal rates for cellulose, hemicellulose, and lignin were all below 10% following acetic acid treatment. In contrast, hydrochloric acid washing not only efficiently removed inorganic elements but also significantly affected the organic components in corn stalk. In hydrothermal experiments, the washing pretreatment increased the solubility of CO2 in the liquid phase by extracting inherent inorganic matter from corn stalk, which significantly enhanced the conversion rates of hemicellulose and cellulose. However, the increased solubility of CO2 did not significantly promote the hydrolysis of lignin. On the contrary, the absence of inorganic components in the washed samples restricted the cracking of lignin, resulting in a decreased conversion rate during hydrothermal processing. Thus, the washing pretreatment, particularly using acetic acid, not only facilitated the selective hydrolysis of hemicellulose and cellulose but also inhibited the further decomposition of their hydrolysis products, thereby effectively increasing the yields of alcohols and aldehydes. The concentration of aldehydes (e.g. furfural and 5- hydroxymethylfurfural), which are the representative hydrolysis products of cellulose and hemicellulose, in the hydrothermal liquid products demonstrated a notable increase, rising from 14.31% for untreated corn stalk to between 25.89% and 39.45% for the washed corn stalk. Furthermore, the lignin content in the hydrothermal char significantly augmented following the washing pretreatment, enhancing its potential for subsequent utilization, notably in gasification processes aimed at producing hydrogen-rich syngas. This study holds substantial importance for elucidating the hydrothermal conversion mechanisms under a CO2 atmosphere and advancing the high-value conversion of biomass through hydrothermal processes. Duo to their advantages of small particle size, easy size adjustment, rich diversity and good mobility, nanomaterials have attracted wide attention as effective carriers in pesticide delivery systems and agricultural pest control. Nanomaterials and technologies have shown great potential in improving the bioavailability, solubility and slow-release properties of pesticide formulations. This paper summarized the research progress in the development of functional nanopesticide delivery systems using nanomaterials and technologies, systematically reviewed the intelligent-responsive pesticide controlled-release formulations that accurately release pesticide active ingredients, and different functional nanopesticide delivery systems such as leaf affinity, soil adsorption and pesticide dual loading systems. The effects of nanopesticide delivery system on pesticide reduction, efficiency enhancement and precise application were summarized, and the application scenarios and industrialization potential of functional nanopesticide delivery system were prospected. OBJECTIVE: To probe into the effects of Shexiang Baoxin pills combined with human brain natriuretic peptide on myocardial protection, arterial blood flow parameters, soluble growth stimulation expression gene 2 (ST-2) and interleukin 33 ( IL-33) in patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction. METHODS: The research subjects of this prospective study were 105 patients with acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, a total of 5 cases were dislodged, and 100 cases had finally completed the course of treatment with complete records; the research period was from Mar. 2021 to Mar. 2023; the 100 patients were divided into research group and control group via random number table method, with 50 cases in each group. After admission, both groups were given routinely oxygen uptake and cardiac monitoring, the intravenous access was immediately established and percutaneous coronary intervention was carried out, the control group was treated with human brain natriuretic peptide for injection, and the research group was orally administered with Shexiang Baoxin pills based on the control group, both groups were treated continuously for 14 days. The TCM symptom scores of chest pain and chest tightness, palpitations, short of breath, tiredness and weakness, face and limbs swelling, asthma were compared between research group and control group before and after treatment, and the efficacy was compared, the coronary artery recirculation rates, the cardiac marker levels, arterial blood flow parameters, changes of serum ST2, IL-33, nitric oxide (NO) and endothelin-1 (ET-1) levels before and after treatment were compared between research group and control group. RESULTS: After treatment, the research group had lower TCM symptom scores of chest pain and chest tightness, palpitation, short of breath, tiredness and weakness, face and limbs swelling, and asthma, with statistically significant differences (P< 0. 05). The total effective rate of the research group was 96. 00% ( 48 / 50), which was significantly higher than 84. 00% (42 / 50) of the control group, with statistically significant difference (P<0. 05). After treatment, the serum N-terminal B-type natriuretic peptide precursor, lactate dehydrogenase, cardiac troponin T and creatine phosphokinase levels were lower in the research group compared with the control group; the coronary recirculation rate grading of the research group was significantly better than that of the control group; the left ventricular ejection fraction, left ventricular peak filling rate, peak systolic blood flow velocity, peak diastolic blood flow velocity and coronary blood flow velocity reserve of the research group were higher than those of the control group, and the left ventricular enddiastolic dimension of the research group was lower than that of the control group; the serum ST2, IL-33 and ET-1 levels of the research group were lower than those of the control group, and the serum NO level of the observation group was higher than that of the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0. 05). CONCLUSIONS: The efficacy of Shexiang Baoxin pills combined with human brain natriuretic peptide in the treatment of acute ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction is remarkable, which helps to protect cardiomyocytes and improve arterial blood circulation, the mechanism of its myocardial protection effect may be associated with reducing ST2 and IL-33 expression as well as relieving vascular injury. Objective to the repair effect of melatonin on brain damage in ischemic stroke rats. Methods Thirty-six Sprague-Dawley (SD) rats were randomly divided into the drug group, model group, and control group, with 12 in each. The ischemic stroke model was made in the drug group and the model group. We only exposed the arterial non-occlusive blood vessels of rats in the control group. The rats in the drug group were injected with 6 mg / mL melatonin through the tail vein at 5 min, 24 h, and 48 h after molding. The rats in the model group were injected with the same a-mount of normal saline containing 4% alcohol at each time point. After 28 days of molding, the rats were sacrificed and brains were taken. The brain was frozen and sliced. The infarct volume, the number of apoptotic cells in the brain, the number of neonatal precursor cells in the brain tissues, and the number of newly mature neurons in the brain tis-sues were compared with them. Results The brain tissue damage area of ​​the drug group and the model group was grayish white, and the brain tissue of the control group was red. The percentage of cerebral infarction volume in the drug group, model group, and control group accounted for 20. 09% ± 2. 17%, 32 11% ± 4 65%, and 0, respectively, and significant difference between the drug group and the model group (P <0. 05). The apoptotic indexes of the drug group, the model group, and the control group were 7 51% ± 1 21%, 14 12% ± 1. 89%, and 1. 00% ± 0 12%, respectively; significant differ-ence was found among the drug group and the model group, and between the drug group and the control group, all P <0. 05. Conclusions Melatonin can protect cells in the ischemic brain injury area from apoptosis, promote the differentiation of new neurons in the injured area, and thus promote the repair of brain damage in ischemic stroke rats. The biomass char has an important influence on the release of volatile during the fast pyrolysis processes due to its complex structure features and the presence of inorganic minerals. Furthermore, as inherent catalysts, the large content of salts in biomass promotes the char to react with volatile. Thus this study aims to investigate the influence of char and inorganic salts on the volatile-char interactions. Experiments were conducted on a two-stage system with the same temperature of 500 ℃. Char pretreatments i.e. acid washing and salts (NaCl, KCl, MgCl2 and FeCl3) impregnating were introduced. Volatile derived from cotton stalk pyrolysis got reaction under the presence of fresh char with different mass. The condensed bio-oil obtained from the pyrolysis with and without the catalysts (cotton stalk char) was characterized by the GC-MS (gas chromatograph - mass spectrometer) analyses. The non-condensed pyrolysis gas via the filter and drier was characterized by the GC. The results indicated that: with the increasing of the mass of cotton stalk char, its ability of promoting the secondary cracking of pyrolysis volatile became stronger. As a result, the liquid bio-oil yield decreased from 56.70% to 51.32%, while the yield of small molecular gases continued to increase from 17.88% to 22.13%. When the dosage of the cotton stalk char was 2.0 g, the highest gas yield of 22.1% was obtained. When the cotton stalk char was added in the pyrolysis, the acids, aldehydes and lipid content declined sharply. It is deduced that the cotton stalk char plays an inhibiting effect in the formation of them. At the same time, this inhibiting effect is conducive to the formation of more phenols. After deliming, semi-coke group structure will weaken the inhibition of the formation of acids in the volatile. Likewise, the capacity of phenolic enrichment is also reduced. The cotton stalk loaded with metal chloride enhanced the semi-coke's effects on the volatile catalytic cracking and restructuring, generating the gas with smaller molecule. When loaded with KCl, the capacity of cotton stalk char to the secondary catalysis of volatile was enhanced. Compared with the cotton stalk char with pickling, the gas yield was increased under the pyrolysis with the fresh cotton stalk. It is deduced that the metal ions play more significant effects on the volatile reaction during the catalytic reforming. The metal ions could promote the conversion of CO2 and CH4. Meanwhile, Fe played the best promoting effect on the hydrogen yield, and the hydrogen content was up to12.96%. When the cotton stalks char were loaded with the KCl and MgCl2, the content of CO contained in the non-condensed gas was increasing sharply. In the respect of the capacity of volatile cracking, the metal ions were stronger than simply increasing the quality of cotton stalk char in the lower catalytic section. The order of metal ions to the enrichment of phenolic was depicted as follows: K+>Na+>Fe2+>Mg2+. For deliming cotton stalk char, it also benefitted the forming of the phenol, although most metal ions had been removed. It is concluded that the skeleton structure of cotton stalk char plays an effect on the volatile cracking. The fresh cotton stalk inhibited the formation of furans. However, the cotton stalk char promoted the yield of furans to increase, reaching 14.26%. Picking and loading with different metal ions played a different role in the yield of bio-oil. The catalysis and the structure both worked in the pyrolysis. The presence of metal ions also promoted the decomposition of acids, esters and aldehydes. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
