Objective: To conduct a comparative pharmacoeconomic analysis Jodantipyrin drugs and Human immunoglobulin against tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) for emergency prevention of tick-borne encephalitis in a health care system of the Russian Federation. Methodology: The study is an analysis of costs, cost-effectiveness and budget impact and consists of a single line of therapy. Results: Cost analysis shows that in the case of the health budget Jodantipyrin costs associated with treatment of established TBE 2.2 times lower than that of the Immunoglobulin against tick-borne encephalitis, and the costs of the use of means of emergency prevention Jodantipyrin - at 11,3 times less.

Jodantipyrin® is an inductor of endogenous interferon (IFN) which is used in the treatment of a variety of viral infections, including tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) and influenza. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Jodantipyrin® in the emergency prevention and/or treatment of influenza and the febrile form of TBE.

On the territory of the Russian Federation tick-borne encephalitis (TBE) is registered in over 1.550 administrative districts of 41 regions, territories and autonomous republics. Over the entire period of observations since the official start of records in 1939, the manifestations have remained seasonal (May, August) with regular periods of rise in morbidity (9-11 years) caused by changes of the total quantity and percentage of infected ticks in the total [1, 2].

The results of differential express diagnostic of tick-borne encephalitis and Lyme borreliosis agents in ticks, removed from pa- tients are present in this article (1995—2004). The entire complex of serolological and genetical methods were used. The specific prophylaxis based on the results of diagnostic had shown to be very effective for both infections. The first data about human ehrli- chiosis and anaplasmosis in Irkutsk region had been obtained. The improvement of diagnostic and prophylactic procedures are pro- posed.
