We study the existence, exact multiplicity, and structure of the set of positive solutions to the periodic problem u" = p(t)u + h(t)|u|(lambda) sgn u + mu f (t); u(0) = u(omega), u0(0) = u'(omega), where mu is an element of R is a parameter. We assume that p, h, f is an element of L([0, omega]), lambda > 1, and the function h is non-negative. The results obtained extend the results known in the existing literature. We do not require that the Green's function of the corresponding linear problem be positive and we allow the forcing term f to change its sign.

The paper studies the existence, exact multiplicity, and a structure of the set of positive solutions to the periodic problem u''=p(t)u+q(t,u)u+f (t); u(0)=u(\omega), u'(0)=u'(\omega), where p, f\in L([0,\omega]) and q : [0,\omega]\times R\to R is Carathéodory function. Obtained general results are applied to the forced non-autonomous Duffing equation u'' = p(t)u+h(t)|u|^\lambda\sgn u+f (t), with \lambda>1 and a non-negative h\in L([0,\omega]). We allow the coefficient p and the forcing term f to change their signs.

The aim of this paper is to discuss the absolute continuity of certain composite functions and di erentiation of a Lebesgue integral with respect to a parameter. The results obtained are useful when analyzing strong solutions of partial di erential equations with Carath eodory right-hand sides.

Při matematickém modelování fyzikálních systémů se používají obyčejné diferenciální rovnice různých tvarů. Diferenciální rovnice popisující tyto systémy jsou často složité nelineární rovnice, avšak pomocí vhodných aproximací nelinearity lze odvodit jednoduché rovnice zvané Duffingovy rovnice, které lze analyticky studovat. V matematickém modelování mechaniky problém hledání periodických řešení těchto Duffingových rovnic úzce souvisí s existencí periodických vibrací jeho odpovídajícího nelineárního oscilátoru. V této práci je provedena analýza řešení a existence řešení v autonomních a neautonomních případech uvažované Duffingovy rovnice s podporou simulací v MATLAB., In the mathematical modelling of physical systems, ordinary differential equations of various forms are used. Differential equations describing these systems are often complex nonlinear equations, however using suitable approximations of nonlinearity, one can derive simple equations called Duffing equations which can be studied analytically. In mathematical modelling of mechanics, the problem of finding periodic solutions to these Duffing equations is closely related to the existence of periodic vibrations of its corresponding nonlinear oscillator. In this work, the analysis of the solutions and existence of solutions in the autonomous and nonautonomous cases of the considered Duffing equation are carried out supported by simulations in MATLAB.

In particular, it presents the analysis of the Lorenz equations from stability to chaos and various bifurcation scenarios with numerical and graphical interpretations. Tato diplomová práce pojednává o epidemiologických SIR modelech popsaných soustavou nelineárních diferenciálních rovnic, přičemž jejímž zaměřením jsou SIR modely s porodností a úmrtností užívané pro dlouhotrvající epidemie. Cílem práce bylo sestavit a analyzovat příslušné modely s časovým zpožděním, následně vybrané modely rozšířit užitím teorie grafů, nalézt příslušná stacionární řešení a analyzovat jejich stabilitu. Práce se speciálně věnuje bližšímu zkoumání heterogenních stacionárních řešení pro speciální typy grafů, konkrétně pro úplné grafy a grafy typu hvězda a cyklus., This diploma thesis analyzes several SIR epidemiological models which are described by a system of non-linear differental equations; it is mainly focused on SIR models with biths and deaths describing long-term epidemics. The goal of this thesis is to develop and analyze models with a time delay, and to extend some of the studied models using the graph theory, find their stationary states and analyze their stability. The thesis is particularly focused on spatially heterogenous stationary states for special types of graphs - complete graphs, stars and cycles.

V tejto práci sa zameriame na zostavenie modelov z matematickej biológie popisujúcich interakciu dravec - korisť. Porovnáme najzákladnejší model Lotka - Volterra s realistickejšími modelmi, tzn. s modelom s vnútrodruhovou konkurenciou a s modelom Gauseho typu. Na záver tieto modely aplikujeme v konkrétnych situáciách a s pomocou softwaru Matlab vykreslíme trajektórie riešení., The focus of this thesis is on a model construction from the field of mathematical biology describing interaction predator-prey. The most elementary Lotka–Volterra model is compared with more realistic models, i.e. intraspecific competition model and Gause model. Finally, the models are applied in specific situations and solution trajectories are drawn using Matlab.

Bakalářská práce se zabývá jak odvozením dynamického systému pohybových rovnic letadla pro malé odchylky, tak i studiem stability a řízení. Navíc je obsahem i srovnání nelineárního modelu s linearizovaným modelem pohybových rovnic. V praktické části bylo využito programovacího jazyka Python., A modern aircraft (or another machine moving in the air) usually does not rely on its structural stability only. In fact, the motion is conventionally stabilized using a loop feedback control. A dynamical system, which models the aircraft's position and orientation in time, reacts on the state variables, hence, the control signal is dynamically changed. This bachelor's thesis deals with deriving the equations of motion for small perturbations of the state variables as well as with stability and control of such a system of equations. In addition, comparison of both a nonlinear and a linearized model is a part of this work. The programming language Python is used for testing on several examples of a concrete aircraft.

Táto práca sa zaoberá skúmaním správania nelineárnych oscilátorov. V ich matematických modeloch sa často objavuje Duffingova rovnica. Cieľmi práce sú zoznámenie sa so základmi teórie diferenciálnych rovníc, interpretácia Duffingovej rovnice a jej analýza. Na naplnenie týchto cieľov práca využíva tzv. kvalitatívnu teóriu diferenciálnych rovníc. To znamená, že sa nehľadá presné riešenie rovnice, ale skúma sa jeho chovanie a vlastnosti. Niektoré z vlastností riešení je možné získať z fázových portrétov., The thesis deals with the behaviour of non-linear oscilators. Within their models there often appears the Duffing equation. The aims of this investigation include fundamentals of the theory of differential equations, interpretation of the Duffing equation and its analysis. To fulfill these aims, this investigation utilizes qualitative theory of the differential equations. It means that closed form solutions to the equations are not looked for but qualitative behaviour and properties of the solutions are studied. Some of the properties of solutions can be obtained from phase portraits.

Tato práce je zaměřena na kvalitativní studium a interpretaci diferenciální rovnice se superlinearitami. Především řeší otázku existence rovnovážných bodů a vykreslení fázových portrétů pomocí teorie dynamických systémů, přesněji pomocí Hamiltonových systémů. Prostřednictvím fázových portrétů jsou popsány vlastnosti a typy některých řešení., This work is focused on the qualitative study and interpretation of a certain differential equation with superlinearities. In particular, a question of the existence of equilibrium points and the drawing of phase portraits is investigated using the theory of dynamic systems, more precisely using Hamilton systems. The properties and types of solutions are illustrated in phase portraits.

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou několika matematických modelů popisujících koexistenci dvou druhů, konkrétně klasickým Lotkovým-Volterrovým modelem a rozšířeními z něj vycházejících. Tyto modely jsou popsány soustavou nelineárních diferenciálních rovnic. Cílem této práce je sestavení rozšířeného modelu dravec-kořist užitím teorie grafů, následné nalezení stacionárních řešení tohoto modelu a analýza jejich stability. Práce je také věnována porovnání výsledků získaných pro tento grafový model se známými výsledky pro grafový model konkurence., This bachelor thesis analyzes several mathematical models describing the co-existence of two species, especially the classic Lotka-Volterra model and its extensions. These models are described by a system of non-linear differential equations. The goal of this thesis is to develop an extended predator-prey model using the graph theory, to find stationary states of this model and to analyze their stability. The thesis is furthermore focused on a comparison between the obtained results for this model with the existing results for the competition model on graphs.

Cílem této práce je zpracování teorie týkající se Sturmovy-Liouvilleovy úlohy a parciálních diferenciálních rovnic druhého řádu. Na základě uvedených poznatků se v práci odvozují potřebná vlastní čísla, vlastní funkce a Greenovy funkce, které jsou se Sturmovou-Liouvillovou úlohou spjaty. Výsledky odvozování se využívají při řešení počátečně-okrajové úlohy vlnové rovnice, jejíž výsledky jsou následně graficky interpretovány., The goal of this thesis is to compile the theory concerning the Sturm-Liouville problem and partial diferential equations of the second order. Based on the findings the necessary eigenvalues, eigenfunctions and Green's functions, which are connected with the Sturm-Liouville problem, are derived in the thesis. Results of derivation are used in the solution of the initial-boundary value problem for wave equation, which results are then interpreted graphically.

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá okrajovými úlohami pro průhyby nosníků. Ve druhé kapitole jsou nejprve připomenuty základy z oblasti řešení lineárních diferenciálních rovnic a poté následuje popis různých typů předepsaných okrajových podmínek. Třetí kapitola je věnována odvození lineární rovnice pro průhyb nosníku a to prostřednictvím lineární diferenciální rovnice druhého i čtvrtého řádu. Poslední, čtvrtá kapitola je zaměřena na porovnání lineárních a nelineárních modelů. Teorie je doplněna konkrétními řešenými příklady, analytická řešení jsou vykreslena v matematickém softwaru Matlab., This bachelor's thesis deals with the deflection of the beam. The second chapter is devoted to the linear differential equations and their solution, followed by a description of the different types of prescribed boundary conditions. In the third chapter the linear differential equation of second and fourth order for the deflection of the beam is derived. The last chapter is focused on comparing linear and nonlinear models. The theory is complemented by some solved examples, in which analytical solutions are plotted by using mathematical software Matlab.

Disertační práce se zabývá asymptotickou stabilitou zpožděných diferenciálních rovnic a jejich diskretizací. V práci jsou uvažovány lineární zpožděné diferenciální rovnice s~konstantním i neohraničeným zpožděním. Jsou odvozeny nutné a postačující podmínky popisující oblast asymptotické stability jak pro exaktní, tak i diskretizovanou lineární neutrální diferenciální rovnici s konstantním zpožděním. Pomocí těchto podmínek jsou porovnány oblasti asymptotické stability odpovídajících exaktních a diskretizovaných rovnic a vyvozeny některé vlastnosti diskrétních oblastí stability vzhledem k měnícímu se kroku použité diskretizace. Dále se zabýváme lineární zpožděnou diferenciální rovnicí s neohraničeným zpožděním. Je uveden popis jejích exaktních a diskrétních oblastí asymptotické stability spolu s asymptotickým odhadem jejich řešení. V závěru uvažujeme lineární diferenciální rovnici s více neohraničenými zpožděními., The doctoral thesis discusses the asymptotic stability of delay differential equations and their discretizations. The linear delay differential equations with constant as well as infinite lag are considered. The necessary and sufficient conditions describing the asymptotic stability region of both exact and discretized linear neutral delay differential equation with constant lag are derived. We compare asymptotic stability domains of corresponding exact and discretized equations and discuss properties of derived stability regions with respect to a changing stepsize of the utilized discretization. Further, we investigate the linear delay differential equation with the infinite lag. We present the description of its exact and discrete asymptotic stability regions together with asymptotic estimates of its solutions. The linear delay differential equation with several infinite lags is discussed as well.

Cílem práce je detailní zpracování aparátu funkcionální analýzy pro studium kvalitativních vlastností řešení diferenčních rovnic a jeho využití při analýze specifikované nelineární diferenční rovnice. Práce obsahuje podrobný rozbor některých vlastností prostorů posloupností, diskrétních verzí Leviho věty o monotónní konvergenci a Lebesgueovy věty o dominantní konvergenci a kritérií relativní kompaktnosti pro prostory posloupností. Teoretický aparát je doplněn větami o pevných bodech. Zavedené matematické prostředky jsou později využity při studiu konkrétní nelineární diferenční rovnice., The goal of this thesis is a detailed elaboration on apparatus of functional analysis for study of qualitative properties of solutions of difference equations and its application for analysis of a specific nonlinear difference equation. The thesis includes detailed analysis of some properties of sequence spaces, discrete versions of Levi's monotone convergence theorem and Lebesgue's dominated convergence theorem and criteria for relative compactness of sequence spaces. Theoretical apparatus is completed with fixed point theorems. Introduced mathematical instruments are later used for study of a concrete nonlinear difference equation.
