Anahtar Kelimeler: Aşil tendonu, kitosan, terapötik ultrason, kollajen Objective: It is necessary to ensure that the damaged tendon is fully healed and to improve its functionality. We have planned our study to investigate the time-dependent effect of chitosan and therapeutic ultrasound on healing of Achilles tendon damage. It is aimed to determine the most effective treatment method by comparing tendon healing and process in different groups at different time intervals.Method: Wistar albino, Rattus norvegicus adult male rats (250-270 g) were divided into 5 groups (n = 156).Group I: Control (n = 12) No operation was performed. Group II: Damage (n = 36): Right Achilles tendons of the subjects were surgically cut from the midline to prevent damage and were planted with Kessler method. Group III: Chitosan (n = 36): Chitosan solution was applied by Kessler method. Group IV: Ultrasound (n = 36): Therapeutic ultrasound was performed after the Kessler method (1 watt / cm2 at 1 Mhz frequency for 5 minutes per week). Group V: Ultrasound + Chitosan (n = 36): After the Kessler method, both chitosan solution and therapeutic ultrasound were applied (1 watt / cm2 with 1 Mhz frequency for 5 minutes per week for 5 minutes). The effects of tenascin-C and type 3 collagen expression were investigated. Results: Among all the groups treated, we observed collagen fibers in the morphology closest to the control group in both the ultrasound and chitosan group for 6 weeks. The increase in the number of tenocytes with echromatic structure of the nucleus was supported by the findings that the collagen fibers with irregular structure were more regular, more numerous in number and their surroundings were much smoother. Conclusion: After obtaining functional and histological evaluations of all groups, both chitosan and therapeutic ultrasound methods were found to be more effective by considering the tendon healing process.Key words: Achilles tendon, chitosan, therapeutic ultrasound, collagen 109

Anahtar kelimeler: Hipertansiyon, L-NAME, apelin, kalp, böbrek ABSTRACTHypertension is the important health problem that comes out by the persistant high value of systemic blood pleusare and leads to serios complications. Hypertension lays the groundwork for coronary heart diseases, cardiac insufficiency, kidney damage and the cerebrovascular diseases. Because of the ethical care, the studies which produce the mechanism of hypertension, the side effect of hypertension and the treatment of the hypertension can not be done in the human subject. Therefore this reason the spesific studies of the related organ in mechanism of hypertension are done in rats. The tissue of the heart and the kidney are one of the important organs that the hypertension leads to damage were composed to our study?s specific organs. In our experimental study were used 35 (hypertensive group: 20, control group: 15) Rattus norvegicus Wistar albino rats. For the purpose of to get the hypertensive model, the drinking water with L-NAME have been given for 6 weeks. At the end of the 6 weeks all the test was ended. The tissues of the heart and the kidney were obtained in the both groups. Apelin ve expression of the apelin reseptor (APJ) was shown the protocols of the immunohistochemically and Western Blot.Wide hole in the atrium, fragmentation in the tissue of the septum interventriculare and the myocardium, beyond the rising of the diameter of the coronary artery was found in the heart tissue of the hypertensive subjects. In generally, in the kidney tissues of the hypertensive subcets, we found that the cortex renalis was narrowing, medulla renalis was wide.Consequently, in the hypertensive group, incrising of the apelin ve expression of the apelin reseptor (APJ) was determined in the heart tissue. In contrastly, in kidney tissue, decrasing of the apelin ve expression of the apelin reseptor (APJ) was determined. We thought that our findings could be usefull for the experimantal or clinic studies of the hypertension and the apelin.Key words: Hypertension, L-NAME, apelin, heart, kidney 85

Objective: Clinicians need accurate, reproducible, and costeffective analysis systems in analyzing movements. Although marker-based motion analysis systems have been accepted as gold-standard methods, they are difficult to access due to high costs. In addition, placing the markers is time-consuming and disadvantageous in patient comfort. With the developing technology, motion analysis systems that do not need a marker are widespread. Our study is to test the usability of Microsoft's new motion sensor in analyzing shoulder movements. Methods: In our study, we tested the dominant side shoulder flexion movements of 10 healthy individuals (5 females and five males) using the Microsoft Azure Kinect sensor. We used iPisoft 3D analysis software for the study. We calculated the range of motion of the shoulder joint Results: As a result of the analysis, we determined the range of motion during shoulder flexion to be 160±5°. Conclusion: The results we found are close to the range of motion of healthy individuals. We think Microsoft's new version sensor can be used in the shoulder range of motion. Future studies that will include more participants and different joint movements will better understand. - Abstract
Objectives: This study aims to document a detailed investigation on the sesamoid bones (SBs) of Turkish subjects from different parts of Turkey in a multi-center study, in both hands, according to gender, frequency and divisions of the bones' coexistence and bilaterality by radiography., Patients and Methods: This retrospective and three-centered study was performed between June 2010 and April 2012. Sesamoid bones were examined by anteroposterior and oblique X-rays of 1,444 hands of 772 subjects (367 males, 405 females; mean age 42.7 years; range, 18 to 87 years). All X-rays were evaluated by at least two independent observers. In controversial circumstances, at least three observers together gave the final decision by consensus., Results: Metacarpophalengeal (MCP) joint of the thumb (MCP 1) had sesamoid in all subjects (100%) and it was seen bilaterally. The prevalence of the SB was 42.8% in the second MCP joint (MCP 2) in 772 subjects and 36.6% in 1,444 hands, 1.6% in the third MCP joint (MCP 3) for the subjects and 1.1% for the hands, 0.1% in the fourth MCP joint (MCP 4) for the subjects and 0.1% for the hands, and 72.5% in the fifth MCP joint (MCP 5) for the subjects and 62.5% for the hands. The prevalence of SB in the first interphalangeal joint (IP 1) was 21.8% and SB was detected in 18.6% of the hands. Sesamoid bones of the MCP 2, MCP 5, and IP 1 was recorded more frequently in females. Sesamoid bone of the same joints (MCP 2, MCP 5 and IP 1) was detected more frequently bilaterally than unilateral right side and more frequently unilaterally on right side than unilateral left side., Conclusion: The distribution of SBs varies according to hand regions, gender, and side. Having knowledge of the locations and the rate of bilaterality of SBs may assist clinicians in both clinical and radiological diagnoses.
