The negative relationship between fear of Covid-19 and well-being has been revealed over the last years. However, the potential variables that affect this relationship need to be studied. This study aims to examine the sequential mediating role of cognitive flexibility and psychological resilience in the relationship between fear of Covid-19 and subjective well-being. Six hundred and eight participants (339 females and 269 males, aged between 18-79 years) completed an online survey which included the Fear of Covid-19 Scale, the Brief Resilience Scale, the Cognitive Flexibility Inventory, the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule, and the Satisfaction with Life Scale. The path analysis was conducted using PROCESS macro. The results of the sequential mediation analyses show that the control dimension of cognitive flexibility and psychological resilience fully mediate the relationship between fear of Covid-19 and subjective well-being. In other words, fear of Covid-19 has an indirect effect on subjective well-being via the control dimension of cognitive flexibility and psychological resilience. In order to decrease the negative effects of Covid-19, the cognitive flexibility and psychological resilience levels of individuals should be increased to enhance well-being., COVID -19 korkusu ve iyi oluş arasındaki olumsuz ilişki ortaya konulmuştur. Ancak bu ilişkiyi etkileyen olası değişkenlerin araştırılmasına ihtiyaç duyulmaktadır. Bu çalışma, COVID -19 korkusu ile öznel iyi oluş arasındaki ilişkide bilişsel esneklik ve psikolojik sağlamlığın sıralı aracı rolünü incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Altı yüz sekiz katılımcı (18-79 yaş aralığında, 339 kadın ve 269 erkek) COVID-19 Korkusu Ölçeği, Kısa Psikolojik Sağlamlık Ölçeği, Bilişsel Esneklik Envanteri, Pozitif ve Negatif Duygu Ölçeği ile Yaşam Doyumu Ölçeğini içeren çevrimiçi veri setini doldurdular. Araştırmada yol analizi, PROCESS makrosu kullanılarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Sıralı aracılık analizlerinin sonuçları, bilişsel esneklik ve psikolojik sağlamlığın kontrol boyutunun COVID-19 korkusu ile öznel iyi oluş arasındaki ilişkiye tam aracılık ettiğini göstermektedir. Başka bir ifade ile COVID-19 korkusu, bilişsel esneklik ve psikolojik sağlamlığın kontrol boyutu aracılığıyla öznel iyi oluş üzerinde dolaylı bir etkiye sahiptir. COVID-19'un olumsuz etkilerini azaltmak ve bireylerin iyilik halini artırmak için bilişsel esneklik ve psikolojik dayanıklılık düzeylerinin artırılması gerekmektedir.

Background: The research was carried out to examine the effect of a parenting preparation course given to midwifery students during an academic semester on the preferred mode of delivery, fear of childbirth, and traumatic birth perception. Methods: This was a quasi-experimental study with a pretest-posttest design that included 47 second-year students enrolled in the parenting preparation course. Students took the parenthood preparation course, 2 hours a week, for 14 weeks. Data were collected using a descriptive information form, the pre-pregnancy fear of birth scale, and the perception of traumatic birth scale. Paired t-test and chi-square test were used to evaluate intragroup and intergroup differences. The data were analyzed using SPSS 22.0 software at a statistical significance of 0.05. Results: The mean age of the students was 20.13±0.67 years. The mean score of pre-pregnancy fear of childbirth was 40.46±9.37 in the pretest and 23.61±6.79 in the posttest. In addition, the mean score of traumatic childbirth perception decreased from 77.34±25.15 in the pretest to 39.44±13.78 in the posttest. The number of students who preferred cesarean section decreased significantly, while the number of students who preferred vaginal delivery increased after the preparation course. Conclusion: Parenting preparation classes can contribute to the reduction of fear of childbirth and the perception of traumatic childbirth in women. 2-s2.0-85146176379

Impostor phenomenon (IP) is the intense feeling of high achieving individuals who cannot internalize their success and attribute it to interpersonal skills, luck, timing, and contacts. The Clance Impostor Phenomenon Scale (CIPS) assesses the fear of failing and being evaluated negatively, not being able to repeat success, fear of the inability to satisfy the expectations of others, and being less capable of others. This study aims to adapt the CIPS into Turkish. Four hundred seven university students enrolled in the study whose average age is 21.12± 1.72 years. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) was conducted. The results of the CFA indicated that the first-order one-factor model was a good fit for the data. Criterion validity analysis results showed a strong negative correlation between CIPS and self-esteem and a strong positive correlation between CIPS and trait anxiety. Test-retest reliability was also strong. The Turkish version of the CIPS has good psychometric properties. The scale can be used to assess the IP levels of young adults.

Pedestrian transportation is the first type of transportation in the world. With the rapid urbanization and the increase in automobiles, transportation in our cities has started to be organized almost entirely for vehicles, and it has been forgotten that the main factor in transportation is pedestrian. Pedestrian transport is one of the most fundamental rights of people living in a city. Simultaneously, it has an essential role in perceiving and owning the city where the individual lives better. In this study, the pedestrian zone, which has intensive pedestrian use, was selected as the sample area in Izmit city center. In order to reveal the current situation of the selected area within the scope of the research, surveys were carried out in the area and evaluations were made under the landscape design principles. Besides, one-to-one satisfaction surveys were conducted with users and business owners to evaluate the area’s current situation. 316L based stainless steel hollow fiber membranes (HFs) are used as an alternative for polymer and ceramic based membranes. Application areas of 316L hollow fiber membranes are applications such as support or particle filter of gas and liquid separations in chemical and waste treatment industries. Among various methods, dry-wet spinning technique was selected as the production method of hollow fiber membranes since it is the most popular one. The aim of the study is to produce hollow fiber membranes in different powder particle sizes (coarse, fine, and their mixture), and to examine their structure and also their properties such as chemical compositions, pore amount, average pore size, and pore distribution. 3-point bending tests were also used to determine their mechanical properties. HFs produced from fine particles show higher densification than coarse particle size samples. In terms of pore structure, mixed particle size yields lower porosity and pore size than the finest particle size. Aynı zamanda, mekanik özellikleri belirlemek amacıyla 3-nokta eğme testleri uygulanmıştır. İnce partiküllerden üretilen numuneler kaba partikül boyutlu numunelerden daha yüksek yoğunlaşma göstermektedir. Gözenek yapısına bakıldığında, karışım partikül boyutu ince partikül boyutuna kıyasla daha düşük gözeneklilik ve gözenek boyutu sunmaktadır. Öte yandan, en küçük partikül boyutu en yüksek mukavemet ve eğilme miktarı sunmaktadır.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, üniversite öğrencilerinde kaygılı ve kaçınan bağlanma biçimleri ile sosyal bağlılık arasındaki ilişkilerde yetersizlik duygusu ve mükemmeliyetçiliğin aracı rolünün incelenmesidir. Araştırmanın katılımcıları, Anadolu Üniversitesinin farklı fakültelerinde örgün lisans programlarına devam eden 390 üniversite öğrencisinden [257 kadın(%65,9), 133 erkek(%34,1)] oluşmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri Kişisel Bilgi Formu, Yakın İlişkilerde Yaşantılar Envanteri II, Yetersizlik Duygusu Ölçeği, Olumlu Olumsuz Mükemmeliyetçilik Ölçeği ve çalışma kapsamında Türkçe uyarlaması yapılan Sosyal Bağlılık Ölçeği-Gözden Geçirilmiş Form ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi ve yapısal eşitlik modeli yöntemlerinden yararlanılmıştır. Doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonucunda, Sosyal Bağlılık Ölçeği- Gözden Geçirilmiş Formun geçerli ve güvenilir bir ölçme aracı olduğu ortaya konulmuştur. Yapısal eşitlik modeli kullanılarak gerçekleştirilen analiz sonucunda, yetersizlik duygusunun kaygılı bağlanma ve işlevsel olmayan mükemmeliyetçilik arasındaki ilişkide tam aracı; işlevsel olmayan mükemmeliyetçiliğin yetersizlik duygusu ve sosyal bağlılık arasındaki ilişkide kısmi aracı; yetersizlik duygusu ve işlevsel olmayan mükemmeliyetçiliğin kaygılı bağlanma ve sosyal bağlılık arasındaki ilişkide tam aracı; işlevsel mükemmeliyetçiliğin ise kaçınan bağlanma ve sosyal bağlılık arasındaki ilişkide kısmi aracı rollerinin bulunduğu belirlenmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular ilgili alan yazın bağlamında tartışılmış ve öneriler sunulmuştur. The aim of the present study was to investigate the mediator role of inferiority feeling and perfectionism in the relationships between anxious and avoidant attachment styles and social connectedness among university students. The participants of the study consisted of 390 university students [257 females (65.9%), 133 males (34.1%)], enrolled in various undergraduate programs at Anadolu University. The data of the study was collected by Demografic Data Form, Experiences in Close Relationships-Revised, Inferiority Feeling Scale, Almost Perfect Scale-Revised, and Social Connectedness Scale-Revised adapted to Turkish in this study. Confirmatory factor analysis and structural equation modeling were employed to investigate mediating role of inferiority feeling and perfectionism on dimensions of attachment and social connectedness. The structural equation modeling indicated that inferiority feeling fully mediated the relationship between anxious attachment and maladaptive perfectionism, maladaptive perfectionism partially mediated the relationship between inferiority feeling and social connectedness, inferiority feeling and maladaptive perfectionism fully mediated the relationship between anxious attachment and social connectedness, adaptive perfectionism partially mediated the relationship between avoidant attachment and social connectedness. The findings of the study were discussed in line with the related literature, and some suggestions were made for practioners and further research. 159
