This study includes an econometric analysis of the export demand behaviour by using Turkey's annual data that cover 32 years periods from 1970 to 2002. In the study, the 'bounds test' method of Pesaran et al (2001) was used to investigate the long run relationship between export demand, and its determinants, namely income and relative prices. As a result of this empirical analysis, it was demonstrated that export volume, income and relative prices were cointegrated. The estimated long term elasticities of export demand with respect to income and relative prices are 0.21 and -1.684, respectively. The sum of the elasticities of import and export demand exceeds one (-1.01) i.e., Marshall-Lerner condition holds. These results show that monetary, fiscal and exchange rate policies may be used as substitutive policies to correct unfavourable trade balance.

Türkiye'nin sahip olduğu fındık alanları ve üretim potansiyeli, dünya fındık ticaretinde Türkiye'yi önemli bir ülke haline getirmektedir. Türkiye'de üretilen fındığın büyük bir çoğunluğu dünya piyasalarına ihraç edilirken geri kalan kısmı ise iç piyasada tüketilmektedir. Türkiye, fındık ihracatının önemli bir kısmını belli sayıdaki Avrupa ülkelerine gerçekleştirmektedir. Fındığın önemli bir bölümünün çikolata sanayisinde kullanılması nedeniyle çikolata sanayisinin gelişmiş olduğu özellikle Avrupa ülkeleri, dünya fındık ticaretinde önemli rol oynamaktadırlar. Türkiye'nin fındık ihracat talebini dikkate alan bu çalışmada ihracat için ele alınan ülkeler, ilgili dönem (2001-2011) kapsamında en önemli 7 ülke olarak çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Bu ülkelerin Almanya, İtalya, Fransa, Belçika, İsviçre, Polonya ve Hollanda olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Panel veri analizi yöntemi kullanılarak Türkiye için uygun fındık ihracat talep modeli elde edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu kapsamda havuzlanmış, sabit ve rastsal etkiler modelleri tahmin edilmiş, uygun model seçimi için ilgili sınamalar ile bu modeller birbirleri ile karşılaştırılmış ve test sonuçlarına göre birim etkili sabit etkiler modeli uygun model olarak seçilmiş ve yorumlanmıştır.Anahtar Sözcükler: Fındık, İhracat Talebi, Panel Veri Modelleri, Türkiye Turkey has the potential of the fields and the production of nuts, Turkey is an important country in the world, makes the nut.
