WOS: 000471814000020, A four-year-old Kangal dog with hundreds of ixodid ticks in the head and neck regions and a large number of myiasis larvae in the anal region were brought to Selcuk University, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Department of Internal Medicine. A paralysis covering the anterior and posterior extremites, except the head region was determined in the dog. It was suspected that the paralysis was caused by ticks on the dog after elimination of some other disease. However, no definitive diagnosis was made for paralysis. Collected ticks were identified as Rhiphicephalus sanguineus (Latreille, 1806). The myiasis larvae collected from the anal region were identified as second and third instars of Chrysomya albiceps (Wiedemann, 1819). As a result, it is suggested that C. albiceps and Rh. sanguineus should be considered in the etiology of myiasis and tick paralysis cases, respectively.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, kuzu ve oğlak akut koksidiyozisinin tedavisinde toltrazuril’in tedavideki etkinliğini değerlendirmekti. Buaraştırmanın materyalini, 15-45 günlük koksidiyozisli 120 kuzu ve 20 oğlak oluşturdu. Kuzu ve oğlaklarda iştahsızlık, durgunluk, emmerefleksinde ve canlı ağırlıkta azalma, dehidrasyon ve siyah yeşilimsi (çoğunluğunda) veya kanlı ishal gözlendi. Koksidiyozis tanısı dışkınınmikroskobik muayenesi ile kondu. Kuzu ve oğlaklara 20 mg/kg dozunda oral yolla tek doz toltrazuril uygulandı. 120 koksidiyozislikuzunun 115’i tedaviye cevap verirken, 5 kuzu tedaviye cevap vermedi. 20 koksidiyozisli oğlağın 19’u tedaviye cevap verirken, 1 oğlaktedaviye cevap vermedi. Sonuç olarak, bu çalışma kuzu ve oğlakların koksidiyozisinin tedavisinde toltrazuril’in oldukça etkili olduğunugöstermiştir., The aim of this study was to evaluate the therapeutic efficacy of toltrazuril in the treatment of coccidiosis of lambs and goat kids. Diagnosis of coccidiosis was performed by microscopic examination. A single dose oftoltrazuril (20 mg/kg PO) was administered to each lambs and goat kids. 115 of 120 lambs with coccidiosis responded to the therapy (95%). Five infected lambs did not respond to treatment. 19 of 20 goat kids with coccidiosis responded to the therapy (95 %). One infectedgoat kids did not respond to treatment. As a result, this study demonstrated that toltrazuril was found to have more effect in thetreatment of coccidiosis of lambs and goat kids.

Bu çalışmanın amacı, seçilmiş diyagnostik biyobelirteçlerin buzağı pnömoni formları ve etiyolojisinin teşhisi ve prognozundaki öneminin araştırılmasıdır. Çalışmanın hayvan materyalini solunum yolu hastalığı şikâyeti bulunan farklı ırk ve cinsiyette, 30-120 günlük yaş aralığında 28 adet buzağı; aynı yaş aralığında ve bakım şartlarında bulunan sağlıklı 10 adet buzağı olmak üzere toplam 38 buzağı oluşturdu. Deneme grupları Bronkoalveolar lavaj (BAL) sıvısının mikrobiyolojik muayenesi temelinde oluşturuldu; Mannheimia haemolytica (n: 6) ve Pasteurella multocida (n: 10) izole ve identifiye edilen toplam 16 adet buzağı fibrinli pnömoni grubuna, Mycoplasma bovis (n:12) izole ve identifiye edilen toplam 12 adet buzağı kazeöznekrotik pnömoni grubuna dahil edildi. Metabolic profile test was performed to determine the metabolic status of dairy cattle and to use in the early diagnosis of metabolic diseases. The aim of this study was to determine the changes in metabolic profile test parameters of dairy cattle with negative energy balances and the relationships between these parameters. The metabolic profile results of 189 cattle within the first 2 wk of lactation period were evaluated retrospectively. Animals with a Beta-hydroxybutyrate (BHBA) threshold level above 1 mmol/L were assigned to Group-1 and the animals with blood BHBA levels less than 1 mmol/L to Group-2. BHBA level was assessed by blood ketone meter. WOS: 000374311900023, In this preliminary case presentation, use of the minimally invasive cystoscopic pneumatic lithotripsy technique in the treatment of complete urethral obstruction in a dog has been described. The animal of the case comprised a 5-year old Chihuahua presenting with difficulty during urination and inability to urinate for the previous 2 days. Post-renal azotemia and hematuria was determined. Urethral stones causing complete urethral obstruction were visualized via cystoscopy, fragmented with a pneumatic lithotripter and the stone fragments were removed using the voiding urohydropulsion method. In conclusion, the pneumatic lithotripsy method was successfully used in the treatment of complete urethral obstruction.
