The association between movement screening and physical fitness testing in athletes is conflicting, and therefore, this study aimed to examine the relationship between Functional Movement Screen (FMS) performance and physical performance in elite female youth football players. Twenty-two players from the national U16 team of Bosnia and Herzegovina underwent FMS and physical performance tests, including speed, agility, and jump assessments. Jump and speed performance score correlated well with ASLR, while the overall FMS score was not associated with any of the performance variables. These findings suggest that while certain movement patterns may impact athletic performance, the relationship between movement screening and physical performance is delicate. Coaches and practitioners should consider individual variations and sport-specific demands when interpreting FMS results in order to optimize and maximize athlete performance and reduce injury risks. Background: The positive effects of static stretching exercises (SS) on physical fitness and rehabilitation are well established, but the effect on general health and physical fitness, including muscle function, flexibility, and activities of daily living at the individual level are less well understood. The objective of this systematic review was to compile the latest research on the effects of SS on general health and different occupational groups with regards to improving or maintaining general health. Material and methods: This review followed PRISMA guidelines. PubMed, Web of Science, Scopus, MEDLINEOnline medical articles, and Science Direct databased were searched from 2010 to 2022 (including 2022) using the search string 'static stretching effects OR muscle stretching exercises AND rehabilitation AND injury prevention'. Results: The database search yielded 799 articles of which 20 remained after elimination according to the selection criteria. The articles found that the effect of SS, regardless of the protocol used or whether it is active or passive, has a positive effect on the health status of the subjects. SS can reduce work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSD), improve respiratory muscle function in patients after a stroke with hemiparesis, improve lung function in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and can be used in pregnancy to reduce the risk or pre-eclampsia. Conclusion: SS is an effective and safe method for improving flexibility and ROM, preventing muscle atrophy, enhancing physical functioning, and improving quality of life with minimal risk of injury. INTERNATIONAL competition ,WOMEN'S basketball ,OLYMPIC Games ,STATISTICS ,REGRESSION analysis ,PERCENTILES ,FACTOR structure - Abstract
Sport, particularly in the realm of professional competition, is a domain of human endeavor that is increasingly dependent on the use of analytical statistical information. Consequently, mathematics and statistics are becoming increasingly crucial elements in sports. Although experts recognize the importance of analytics in women's basketball, the literature addressing this subject remains limited. The objective of this study is to employ quantitative methodologies to discover prevailing patterns in global women's basketball representation. The entities examined in this article were the games contested during the 2021 Olympic Games, the 2022 World Cup, and the 2023 continental championships. Two regression models were created for the research, using thirteen standard variables observed in the game. The evaluation of the regression model was conducted using the stepwise regression method, incorporating dimensionality reduction based on the outcomes of factor analysis. Among the 14 models that were observed, 13 of them exhibited strong and moderate linkages, while only 1 displayed weak connections and lacked statistical significance. The primary factors that account for the disparity between winning and losing teams in games are primarily associated with shooting accuracy toward the basket. When examining individual championships, the percentage surpassed 50% in all cases except for AfroBasket. However, when considering the overall results, the significance of shooting rose to 86%. The variable representing offensive rebound efficiency had a significant influence on the outcome, being present in all individual competitions, whereas defensive rebound efficiency was only considered in the overall results. Obesity, prevalence, body mass index, students, University of Sarajevo ,nutritional and metabolic diseases - Abstract
This research aimed to determine the epidemiological indicators of the prevalence of obesity in students at the University of Sarajevo. For this purpose, 2145 students were tested, of which men (n = 967 ; age = 23.47 ± 3.35) and women (n = 1178 ; age = 22.66 ± 2.39). Standardized anthropometric tests were used: body height, body weight, BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference, and waist to hip ratio. The results obtained indicate that the average body height of men is = 181.77 ± 7.41 ; body mass = 80.41 ± 12.24 ; BMI = 24.31 ± 3.26 ; waist circumference = 85.85 ± 14.06 ; hip circumference = 102.92 ± 11.06 ; waist to hip ratio = 0.83 ± 0.10. The same indicators for women are: body height = 166.74 ± 6.73 ; body mass = 62.31 ± 9.80 ; BMI = 22.41 ± 3.29 ; waist circumference = 73.41 ± 8.44 ; hip circumference = 97.67 ± 11.31 ; waist to hip ratio = 0.76 ± 0.13. According to standard categorization based on BMI recommended by WHO (The World Health Organization), overweight or obesity have 654 or 30.48% of students, of which 416 or 19.39% are men, and 238 or 11.09% are women. The results obtained confirm that the population of students at the University of Sarajevo has averaged overweight and obesity values recorded in previous studies at the European Union and developed country level.

Research on moderate-intensity continuous training (MICT) is closely connected with primary and secondary cardiovascular protection but also can be associated with primary bypass patency and outcome of endovascular treatment for critical iliac stenosis TASC II A and B. After specific surgical or non-surgical treatment, iliac bypass or endovascular revascularization patency still depends on an individual and is still in the eye of scientific research modalities. Carotid intima-media thickness (CIMT) is an efficient surrogate parameter in detection and prediction of cerebrovascular events and potential marker of generalized atherosclerosis with prognosis of peripheral arterial disease related to prognosis of atherosclerotic coronary hemodynamic pathology.Materials and methods. A total of 139 patients were observed during 4 years of MICT. Ultrasonography of the distal part of the common carotid artery (CCA) was performed to measure CIMT before and after revascularization procedure. The bypass patency and walking distance was also studied.Results. In the total population, no difference in changes of CIMT from baseline was observed between the standard exercise group and controls in 4 years. However, there was a significant correlation between the effect of exercise training and CIMT within 4 years. CIMT was not significantly reduced in the exercise group compared with control non-diabetic patients.Conclusions. Exercise training in both groups did not significantly change carotid intima-media thickness in the four years following endovascular procedure and Dacron bypass revascularization, but significant beneficial effect of moderate-intensity continuous training on bypass patency was observed in patients with mild or without claudication symptoms as well as on subjective and objective health status., Научное исследование продолжительных тренировок умеренной интенсивности коррелирует с первичной и вторичной сердечно-сосудистой терапией, но и связано с исходом первичного обходного шунтирования и лечения эндоваскулярного подвздошного стеноза TASC II A и B. После специфического хирургического и нехирургического лечения результаты шунтирования или эндоваскулярной подвздошной реваскуляризации все еще зависят от пациента, и данные показатели актуальны для медицинских исследований.

Handball is one of the most popular sports worldwide. Although it's highly popular, there is a lack of knowledge about functional movement capacity, especially for female players. The aim of this study is to determine the relationship between functional mobility (Functional Movement Screening - FMS) and performance in agility tests (T-test, 505 test and 6x4 test) in female handball players. The sample of participants consisted of 15 healthy handball players from the "Hrasnica" female handball club. The mean FMS scores of handball athletes were 15.67±2.44. The results of this study showed that there was a statistically significant moderate and large correlation between the FMS and agility (from r=-.632, P=0.038). Handball is a risky sport for injuries; therefore, FMS can be used to detect deficiency (functional) before performance training. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Conditional random fields are probabilistic discriminative graphical machine learning models with a wide variety of applications for structured prediction. The focus of this paper is their usage for semantic segmentation. Achieving satisfiable semantic segmentation performance requires semantic label co-occurrence modelling. The implemented system models such relations with two conditional random fields. The first one uses binary potentials learned by a convolutional neural network for modelling two types of relations – “surrounding” and “above/below”. The second field is a dense conditional random field with Gaussian binary potentials defined on pixel positions and color vectors. It is used for post-processing the segmentation result of the previous random field. The implemented model is evaluated on publicly available datasets for urban traffic scene understanding (Cityscapes and KITTI).

The aim of this paper is to determine the presence of PAP effect and its time periods in the application of different activation stimuli on upper extremities. PAP effect has been determining as a difference in the distance of the medicine ball throw with stimuli (PAP 1,3,5,7,10,12 minutes) and without stimuli (PRE-PAP). The study was participated by 24 students of Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Sarajevo (age = 22.24 ± 1.21; body mass = 74.57±7.23). The students threw the medicine ball from a sitting position on a chair, before and after (1,3,5,7,10 and 12 minutes) activation stimuli which consisted of 3x3 90% 1RM incline bench press, bench press and military press. The analysis of the data obtained shows that there is an acute increase in the distance of the medicine ball throw. The highest positive statistically significant pre and post-AP changes occurred in the seventh minute for IBP (13.52 cm and 2.38%; p = .047) and BP (12.17 cm and 2.14%; p = .052). These results suggest that IBP and BP application performance results in a statistically significant PAP effect within the seventh minute, and that there is a presence of some (non-statistically significant) positive PAP effects in the application of all three (BR IBR MP) activation exercises between fifth and tenth minute, however pointing out that their value is the greatest between fifth and seventh minute. This bachelor thesis describes the basic problems that arise during the implementation of an information system in three-tier architecture using the programming language PHP. The main focus is given on the possibilities that PHP offers for the realization of the business logic layer. The advantages and disadvantages of different conceptual approaches to the implementation of business logic layer are pointed out. This thesis also describes frequently used design patterns in PHP, and especially the MVC architectural pattern. Common security issues play a significant role in the development of an information system. Some possible solutions to these problems are also elaborated. The thesis provides an insight into the basics of client-server architecture, such as communication between the client and server sides. At the end, a brief overview of possibilities and problems that occur during realization of the connection between the business logic layer and the other two layers of three-tier architecture is given.

Aim of the study was to determine differences between defined quality groups of students according to the body mass index (BMI), in their motor-functional status tested by certain athletics disciplines. The sample consisted of 24 students (age = 19 ± 0.78, height = 183.3 ± 6.96, body mass = 77.7 ± 10.24) who completed the study course of Athletics at the first year of the Faculty of Sports and Physical Education, University of Sarajevo. Used variables consisted of the following athletics disciplines: sprint running 60 m, hurdles running 60 m, running 300 meters, long jump and shot put. The sample was clustered into three equal groups consisting of 8 students, according to the BMI criterion [Group 1 BMI = 20.3 kg/m
2 (181.3 cm, 67.1 kg); Group 2 BMI = 22.8 kg/m2 (186.5 cm, 79.3 kg); Group 3 BMI = 26.1 kg/m2 (182.1 cm, 86.8 kg)]. Analysis of the results in athletic disciplines showed statistically significant differences in variables of running at 300m (1st with 3 - p=0.040 and 2nd with 3 - p=0.049), long jump (1st with 3rd p=- 0.043 *) and shot put (1st with 2nd p=- 0.049 *). The obtained results indicate that motor-functional status of students was primarily differed by the level of anaerobic-aerobic and anaerobic potential, according to the type of speed-endurance, speed-strength and explosive-strength. The aim of this study was to determine the optimal rest period between PAP and medicine ball throwing, and to verify that the performance of the explosive strength of upper limbs was improved when it was preceded by 3x3 90% of 1RM on the incline bench press. Fifteen male respondents (age = 21 ± 1.53; body mass = 73.75 ± 5.18) students of Faculty of Sport and Physical Education, University of Sarajevo, participated in this research. Respondents throw the ball from sitting position, and 3, 5, 7, 10 minutes after the activation stimulus - incline bench press 3x3 90% 1RM. Analyzing the obtained results, an acute increase in the distance of the medicine ball throw was detected. The highest statistically significant pre and post-AP changes occurred in the seventh minute and amounted to 17 cm and 2.89% (p = 0.033). 3x3-90% 1RM IBP results in statistically significant PAP effects and optimal recovery time is 7 minutes. DIETARY supplements ,FOOD habits ,PHYSICAL fitness ,AMINO acids - Abstract
The aim of this study was to investigate habits and opinions on dietary supplements intake among male fitness users with nonprofessional sport background from Sarajevo - Bosnia and Herzegovina. Overall, sample consisted of 564 participants aged 18-40. Designed questionnaire was used to gain results in 7 largest fitness facilities in Sarajevo. Descriptive cross-sectional analysis was used to analyze results of the questionnaire. Dietary supplements were used by 71,81% (n = 405), of which 46,81% (n = 264) used them on daily basis, while 25.00% (n = 141) participants consumed supplements occasionally. Whey protein (50.37%) was most common choice, followed by amino acid (17.78%) and creatine (14.07%). Muscle gain (59.75%) was the main reason for supplementation usage with 40% of subjects (n=303) enquiring basic information's about supplements trough web search. Therefore, we conclude that additional effort in educating consumers and employees working with fitness users is essential. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

In many countries, basketball has established itself as one of the most popular sports. The aim of this study was to examine and analyze body composition and functional profile of cadet basketball players. The sample subjects were 20 female basketball players of KK Zeljeznicar (age = 15:30 ± 0.82; height = 172.0 ± 5.94), whose composition of the body (height, weight, BMI, FatP) and parameters of spirometry (FVC, FEV 1, FEV/FCV, PEF) were examined. The results showed that basketball players from KK Zeljeznicar are lower than their peers but they are much heavier and that the percentage of fat is a lot higher than in previous studies. Also all variables of spirometry indicate significantly lower means in relation to previous studies. These results indicate importance of further work on the physical preparation of a basketball player, because creation of adequate base directly affects better sports results. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

POSTURE ,LORDOSIS ,KYPHOSIS ,SEX factors in disease ,CHILDREN'S health ,MANN Whitney U Test - Abstract
The aim of this research presents detection of differences in postural status between boys and girls 6 to 9 years of age. Research was conducted on a sample of 344 respondents, of which 172 girls and 172 boys under the IPA SpineLab project financed by the European Union. The postural state was checked with 17 applied variables, and was obtained by conducting "3D Posture Compact" protocol on Contemplas measuring instrument. Mann-Whitney U test showed that there were statistically significant differences (p <.001) in postural status between boys and girls in Sag. Distance thoracic spine - sacrum (thoracic kyphosis), Sag. Distance lumbar spine - sacrum (lumbar lordosis), Varus/Valgus left, Varus/Valgus right (X and 0 legs). Girls are significantly more likely to have postural problems in relation to their male peers in terms of lumbar lordosis and valgus knees, while boys have more pronounced deformity of the thoracic kyphosis. In the end, bad posture status in children and adolescents can lead to significant health problems, and it is very important to identify them at an early stage and promptly begin preventive procedures (preventive exercise program, etc.).
