The concepts of knowledge and faith are among the most emphasized concepts in Islamic culture and civilization. The fact that the presumptive knowledge, which does not express certainty, is not trusted in the determination of the belief principles of the religion, and the necessity to reach the definitive information confirmed by the evidence, has resulted in an emphasis on knowledge. In fact, the fact that belief depends on approval in theology shows its relationship with knowledge. Because having knowledge and believing by running mental processes are the most basic characteristics of human beings. Since it is realized through mental processes, faith emerges at the end of a knowledge-based reasoning process beyond a psychological commitment. Allah, who teaches man to write with a pen, names, words, wisdom and the book, desires that man's devotion to himself be realized on the basis of knowledge. In this study, what is the relational context of the concepts of knowledge-belief, which is one of the most important value criteria that distinguish human beings from other beings, and what is the functional importance of knowledge in believing? Is there a contrast or gap between knowledge and faith? Should one of these concepts be given priority? etc. Based on these questions, the relational context of these concepts will be evaluated by centered on the Qur'an. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Biological control agents (BCAs) are a promising option for managing postharvest diseases. Their environmentally friendly nature makes them valuable for sustainable and eco-friendly postharvest disease management. This study evaluated the antagonistic potential of epiphytic yeasts isolated from a local apple genotype known as "Niğde Elması" and a range of wild fruits: rosehip, hawthorn, and wild pear. There were 375 yeast isolates obtained and screened in vitro and in vivo. Initially selected were 32 isolates able to inhibit the growth of Alternaria alternata mycelia in the in vitro experiments and identified using molecular methods as candidate BCAs. These isolates were identified as Aureobasidium pullulans using sequence analysis of the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) and the translation elongation factor EF-1α gene (EF1α). Based on two rounds of in vivo screening, four isolates were subsequently selected for their capability to control the infection of apple fruits under high inoculum pressure. Finally, their volatile and non-volatile antimicrobial activity was tested against Alternaria spp. These findings showed how wild fruits and a local apple genotype could represent a promising source for new BCA isolation. However, further studies are needed to reveal the mechanisms of action of these putative BCAs for application during the postharvest processing and storage of apples. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

The current study is aimed at investigating the influences of vortex generator (VG) applications mounted to the suction and pressure surfaces of the S809 wind turbine airfoil at low Reynolds number flow conditions. Both single and double VG applications were investigated to provide technological advancement in wind turbine blades by optimizing their exact positions on the surface of the airfoil. The results of the smoke-wire experiment for the uncontrolled case reveal that a laminar separation bubble formed near the trailing edge of the suction surface, and it was moved towards the leading edge as expected when the angle of attack was increased, resulting in bubble burst and leading-edge flow separation at α = 12°. The u/U∞, laminar kinetic energy and total fluctuation energy contours obtained from the numerical study clearly show that both the single and double VG applications produced small eddies, and those eddies in the double VG case led the flow to be reattached at the trailing edge of the suction surface and to gain more momentum by energizing. This situation was clearly supported by the results of aerodynamic force; the double VG application caused the lift coefficient to increase, resulting in an enhancement of the aerodynamic performance. A novel finding is that the VG at the pressure surface caused the flow at the wake region to gain more energy and momentum, resulting in a reattached and steadier flow condition. National and international indicators show that there is a big inadequacy in science and technology education in Turkey as compared to other countries. This important problem affects the young students' structure of thinking perspective and perceptions of nature in a wrong way. The problems in science and technology education will block creative and critical thinking, curiosity and positive attitudes towards nature. In order to determine attitudes towards science and technology education program and the reasons of low achievement in science education, a questionnaire with 20 items about science and technology lesson, has been prepared and applied to 84 science and technology lesson teacher in elementary schools in two different cities (Adiyaman and Malatya) of Turkey. According to the result of this research, the main problems with science and technology education are insufficient number of science and technology teachers' taking active role in the preparation of the programs, the insufficient in-service training of the science teacher in the transition state of a new program, the huge numbers of the students in the class, the informational education orienting students towards only exam achievement, the broken link with other lessons (e.g. mathematics program) and insufficient physical conditions of schools (less laboratory opportunities).

Common purslane (Portulaca oleracea L.), is both a wild plant and a weed, and is also recognized for its edible and nutritional value. This study determined morphological and biochemical characteristics of 25 accessions of common purslane. Seeds of the accessions were collected from various locations in Türkiye. The experiment was done four times; two repeats of it were used for recording morphological data while the other two were used for biochemical analysis. Results showed that the accessions BT-Altinkulak, Assem, and Yerli were respectively recorded for the highest plant height, root fresh weight, and plant fresh weight. The highest moisture content (95.14 %) and leaf fresh weight (39.18 g) were exhibited in the Yerli accession. Root length for all the accessions ranged from 18.2 to 30 cm. For biochemical characterization, the highest total phenolic content was found in accession Yagmur (685.4 mg AEE 100-1) while the highest total flavonoid content was found in Assya (0.569 mg mL-1). Anthocyanin was found the highest in Agr Tohum (1.09 μg mL-1). Cookies were prepared from a mix of common purslane accessions with three different leaf powder quantities i.e., 10 g, 20 g, and 30 g. In product development, cookies with 10 g common purslane powder were found to be the best for all sensory characteristics. Results showed that common purslane accessions are a rich source of various bioactive compounds and have highly diverse morphological and biochemical traits. In this study, the effect of the aspect ratio on the aerodynamics characteristic of flexible membrane wings with different aspect ratios (AR = 1 and AR = 3) is experimentally investigated at Reynolds number of 25000. Time accurate measurements of membrane deformation using Digital Image Correlation system (DIC) is carried out while normal forces of the wing will be measured by helping a load-cell system and flow on the wing was visualized by means of smoke wire technic. The characteristics of high aspect ratio wings are shown to be affected by leading edge separation bubbles at low Reynolds number. It is concluded that the camber of membrane wing excites the separated shear layer and this situation increases the lift coefficient relatively more as compared to rigid wings. In membrane wings with low aspect ratio, unsteadiness included tip vortices and vortex shedding, and the combination of tip vortices and vortex shedding causes complex unsteady deformations of these membrane wings. The characteristic of high aspect ratio wings was shown to be affected by leading edge separation bubbles at low Reynolds numbers whereas the deformations of flexible wing with low aspect ratio affected by tip vortices and leading edge separation bubbles.

In this study, the flow over NACA4412 was investigated both numerically and experimentally at a different Reynolds numbers. The experiments were carried out in a low speed wind tunnel with various angles of attack and different Reynolds numbers (25000 and 50000). Airfoil was manufactured using 3D printer with a various aspect ratios (AR = 1 and AR = 3). Smoke-wire and oil flow visualization methods were used to visualize the surface flow patterns. NACA4412 aerofoil was designed by using SOLIDWORKS. The structural grid of numerical model was constructed by ANSYS ICEM CFD meshing software. Furthermore, ANSYS FLUENT™ software was used to perform numerical calculations. The numerical results were compared with experimental results. Bubble formation was shown in CFD streamlines and smoke-wire experiments at z / c = 0.4. Furthermore, bubble shrunk at z / c = 0.2 by reason of the effects of tip vortices in both numerical and experimental studies. Consequently, it was seen that there was a good agreement between numerical and experimental results.

In this study, unsteady flow around flexible membrane wing which had aspect ratio of 1 (AR=1) was investigated experimentally at various Reynolds numbers (Re = 25000 and Re = 50000). Smoke-wire technique for flow visualization over the flexible membrane wing was utilized in the experiments. Digital Image Correlation system (DIC) was used for measuring deformation of AR = 1 flexible membrane wing. Instantaneous deformation measurements of membrane wing were combined with the flow field measurements. In low aspect ratio flexible membrane wings, unsteadiness includes tip vortices and vortex shedding, and the combination of tip vortices. In these types of wings, complex unsteady deformations occurred due to vortex shedding. The results showed that the increasing angle of attack results in increase of membrane deformation. Moreover, it was concluded that analysis of the instantaneous deformation revealed chordwise and spanwise, modes which were due to the shedding of leading-edge vortices as well as tip vortices. Consequently, vibrational mode decreased and maximum standard deviation location approached to the trailing edge by reason of increasing angle of attack.

OBJECTIVE: Publications on vaccine hesitancy and the novel coronavirus disease 2019 in the scientific literature are increasing every day. An examination of their content will help to eliminate the existing negativity related to vaccine hesitancy through scientific methods. Hence, a systematic approach to the prevention of vaccine hesitancy worldwide can be developed. This article aims to survey how vaccine hesitancy is addressed in the PubMed articles about "vaccine hesitancy" over the novel coronavirus disease, for which the MeSH criteria have been published; to understand their recommendations for the prevention of vaccine hesitancy; to evaluate any related research described as "cross-sectional," "case-control," and "cohort" according to Strengthening the Reporting of Observational Studies in Epidemiology criteria; and to contribute to the current literature on the subject. MATERIAL AND METHODS: This study is planned to use a systematic review format and STROBE checklist was used to evaluate the articles accessed from PubMed database. Microsoft Excel was used as the data calculation tool. RESULTS: Sixty-five (81.3%) of the 80 articles investigated in the scope of this study mention "vaccine." While 64 articles (80%) discuss the determination of vaccine hesitancy, 57 (71.3%) articles address its prevention. The keyword "COVID-19" is used in 61 articles (79.2%). The second most frequently used keyword is "vaccine hesitancy" (n = 37, 48.1%), followed by "vaccine" (n = 25, 32.5%). Twenty-nine (48%) of the reviewed articles originate from the WHO American Continents. The second most represented region of research is the European Region (n = 21, 35%), followed by the South East Asian Region (n = 5, 8%). CONCLUSION: This study illustrates the recent situation for the coronavirus disease 2019 vaccine and reveals the presence of a vaccine hesitancy. Vaccine hesitancy is a risk factor that could prevent herd immunity. The systematic review of scientific articles should continue with improvements in order to tackle the problem as exemplified by the present study. Other checklists as well as STROBE checklist are recommended to be used in similar studies to have more objective conclusions. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
