A straightforward, dependable, and quick RP-LC method for the analysis of abiraterone acetate in its dose form and human urine has been devised. With DAD detection, sensitivity was reported to be high. The LOD and LOQ of the procedure were deemed adequate. The suggested approach was exhaustively validated in accordance with ICH requirements, and the findings demonstrated that it was exact, accurate, selective, and sensitive for the analysis of this pharmaceutical. The chromatographic separation was realized using a X-Terra RP-18 (150 × 4.60 mm i.d. × 5 μm) column and a UV detector set at 255 and 267 nm. In addition, p K a values were calculated based on the relationship between the retention factor and the pH of the mobile phase. The influence of the composition of the mobile phase on the ionization constant was investigated by measuring the p K a at various acetonitrile–water combinations ranging from 50 to 70% (v/v). New evidence for a biostratigraphic assessment of the limestone succession comprising K-bentonite levels exposed in the Yılanlı Formation of the Istanbul-Zonguldak Terrane are provided from conodonts at the Gavurpınarı quarry in Bartın area (NW Turkey). The succession depicts a shallow marine, nearshore facies setting that comprises rare and low diversity conodont associations mainly exemplified by the species of Ctenopolygnathus, Icriodus and Polygnathus. Conodont faunas from the lower part of the section are of late Frasnian age, including the taxa Icriodus subterminus Youngquist, 1947, Polygnathus aff. xylus Stauffer, 1940, Icriodus iowaensis iowaensis Youngquist & Peterson, 1947 and Ctenopolygnathus brevilaminus Branson & Mehl, 1934, and the upper part is assigned to early Famennian marked by the first appearance of Icriodus cornutus Sannemann, 1955. The local biostratigraphic framework of the Yılanlı Formation is correlated with the upper Frasnian Lower rhenana to the lower Famennian Middle triangularis standard conodont zonations. Considering the described species, the Frasnian-Famennian boundary corresponds to a slight change in conodont fauna and is assigned within the local Icriodus iowaensis iowaensis Zone. Accordingly, the novel K-bentonite age data potentially indicates the evidence for the Kellwasser events in northern Turkey, improving paleogeographic correlations of the Istanbul-Zonguldak Terrane with other terranes in Laurasia and Peri-Gondwana. Murat Höyük is located in Murat Village, Solhan District, Bingöl Province, Turkey. In 2019, rescue excavations initiated by the Elazığ Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography under the auspices of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism were completed. This study evaluated Early Bronze Age ceramics unearthed during the rescue excavations at Murat Höyük. The earliest of the four cultural layers identified in the studies belongs to the Early Bronze Age, dated between 2500-2200 BC. The EBA III layer is represented by its architecture, small finds, and ceramics. The Early Bronze Age settlement consists of five structures arranged around a single courtyard. The Murat Höyük ceramic form typology consists of pots, bowls, cups, pitchers, goblets, spout vessels, trays, and jars. During the researches, it was determined that the settlement and finds of Murat Höyük show the characteristics of the Upper Euphrates Basin. The research aims to contribute to the understanding of the cultural formation in the basin and provide new contributions to the regional archaeology by investigating the Murat Höyük settlement, which is located in the Bingöl Province, an area that has not been adequately researched despite being one of the best-researched areas in the Upper Euphrates Basin. Murat Höyük is an important Bronze Age site located in eastern Turkey, in the province of Bingöl, 5km south of Solhan. Murat Höyük is located on the north bank of the Arsanias River in the Upper Euphrates valley. Due to the construction of the Aşağı Kaleköy Dam, the mound there was registered in 2018 and salvage excavations began in 2019. The main intention of the excavations was to study the Early Bronze and Iron Age periods, but some important discoveries on the top of the mound also drew attention to the later phases of occupation. Some architectural remains from these later phases have been brought to light and, additionally, locally produced pottery, together with some objects and tools related to agricultural production and some liturgical metal finds, such as processional crosses, have been recovered from the excavations. The finds give an idea of the nature of the later settlement. The aim of this article is to describe and interpret these architectural remains and small finds, which were found on the highest point of the mound and are most likely medieval in date (between the 9th and 12th centuries), and to attempt to evaluate the nature of the small settlement. Objectives: To evaluate the use of the Amsler grid test (AGT) in screening for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), one of the most common causes of blindness, in primary healthcare settings. Materials and Methods: The AGT was applied to 700 eyes of 355 people aged 50 and over who applied to a family health center in Ankara and had no eye complaints. The test was considered positive if the lines on the AGT card were seen as broken or curved, there was a difference in shape or size between the squares, or a color change or blurring was described in any area. An ophthalmologist was consulted if the AGT was positive in one or both eyes. Patients considered suitable by ophthalmologists were evaluated with optical coherence tomography. AGT results were compared with ophthalmologist examination and tomography findings in terms of AMD detection. Results: The AGT was positive in 97 (13.9%) and negative in 603 (86.1%) out of 700 eyes included in the study. A total of 184 eyes, 79 with a positive AGT and 105 eyes with a negative test, were evaluated by an ophthalmologist. As a result of examinations and tests performed by ophthalmologists, AMD was detected in a total of 67 eyes: 42 of 79 eyes with positive AGT and 25 of 105 eyes with negative AGT but referred to an ophthalmologist for different reasons. In our study, the AGT had 62.7% sensitivity and 68.4% specificity. Conclusion: The AGT is an inexpensive and easily applicable test. Although moderate sensitivity and specificity were found in our study; further studies are needed to evaluate the suitability of its use for AMD screening in primary care with limited facilities.
