The purpose of this study is to develop a valid and reliable Likert-type scale that can be used to measure the data literacy skills of educators. In the development process of the scale, after reviewing the relevant literature, a pool of 130 items was designed and presented to the experts for their view. After the evaluation of experts, the content validity rate and content validity indexes of the items were calculated by using the Lawshe method, and 39 items were formed. The draft scale of 39 items was applied to 820 teachers and administrators working in public schools in the 2021-2022 academic year. In order to determine the construct validity of the scale, principal component analysis and factor analysis were performed. As a result of these analyses, a scale consisting of 3 factors and a total of 30 items was developed. For reliability, Cronbach a (.953) a coefficient was calculated for the overall dimensions of the scale and varimax rotation. The results show that the scale is valid and reliable.

The purpose of this study is to ensure that the existing situation of the field of educational administration is understood, to display the focal points, frameworks and popularity of studies, to shed light to future studies and to guide those who want to conduct study in the field. In line with this purpose, it is aimed in this study to examine with social network analysis the variables in the scope of doctoral dissertations in the field of educational administration in Turkey. The data consist of doctoral dissertations published in Turkey in the field of educational administration between 1998 and 2021. In collecting the data, a contiguity matrix created by the researchers and a review form containing other information about the dissertations were used. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics were employed together with the social network analysis method. As a result of the research, it was determined that there are 147 different variables and 538 links in the network. It was concluded that the network is generally divided into three parts; network density is low; the level of association of the variables with each other is low; the well-known and more common variables in the literature tend to be studied together with similar variables; the variables of managerial leadership, organizational commitment, organizational culture, managerial competency, teacher performance, organizational justice, organizational learning, teacher efficacy, and managerial behavior were the most discussed variables, but among these, the "managerial leadership" was the most central variable in the network.

This study aims to determine the factors affecting the occupational choice and career orientation of senior students in Girls Anatolian Imam Hatip High Schools (Religious Vocational High School) and reveal what the students who turn to different occupation groups are affected. The study was conducted using the "phenomenology" pattern, which is one of the qualitative approaches. The research was conducted with 25 students studying in five different Girls Anatolian Imam Hatip High Schools selected from Istanbul in the 2019-2020 academic year. Twenty-five students were selected using "criterion sampling", one of the purposive sampling methods. The data of the study were collected using the "interview" method, and a "semi-structured interview form" was used during the interview. The data were analyzed by the "descriptive analysis" method. This study has been guided by the fact that teachers, families, and policymakers clearly know whether the students in Imam Hatip High Schools, which were established to raise religious officials; make their choices in line with their own interests, abilities, skills, wishes, and desires or are influenced by their environment and that they have made different occupational orientations and preferences in recent years. It was determined that students have found common ground in the lifelong development process besides individual differences in their career and occupational choices. It is seen that students' occupational thoughts, which develop in the form of dreams at an early age, progress from abstract to more realistic and concrete as they grow up and develop; changes and even indecisions occur with the increasing number of effective factors and the predominance of personal desires. It is thought that it will help restructure the studies to be conducted in Turkey since the research is a study to discover "factors affecting the occupational choice and career orientation".

The purpose of this study is to develop performance indicators in line with these goals and objectives in the light of domestic and foreign literature by examining the strategic goals and objectives in the strategic plans of public universities in Turkey. Within the scope of the research, firstly strategic plans of many universities operating at home and abroad were examined and a performance indicator pool consisting of 300 criteria was created in the light of the strategic plans of 11 different universities selected by purposeful sampling. Also Reports of the Council of Higher Education (YÖK) and Ministry of Development on strategic planning were examined. In the second stage, expert opinion was received from 2 faculty members working in the field of education management, and the 300 item list was reduced to 45 performance indicators under 6 main strategic dimensions. In the third and final stage of the research, performance indicators were classified according to their importance by using AHP (Analytical Hierarchy Process) method, which is a multi-criteria decision-making technique. The AHP study was carried out with 10 academics who had scientific studies in the field of strategic planning and worked in university administration. Finally, the performance indicators created for each strategic dimension are listed according to their criterion weights.

The purpose of this study is to examine the recreational tourism preferences of university students within the framework of their push and pull travel motivations. In addition, it was aimed to highlight how some variables and motivations affect tourism preferences in mutual interaction. Validity and reliability were obtained by "Scale of Recreational Activities in Destination Choices" (SRADC), "Scale of Intrinsic Travel Motivations" (SITM) and "Scale of Extrinsic Travel Motivations" (SETM) conducted by Özdemir, Karaküçük, and Büyüköztürk (2013). Descriptive statistics, independent sample t test, one way ANOVA and Univariate test were used for data analysis, for in-group comparisons Tukey (HSD-LSD) and Pearson Correlation test were used. In this study, it was determined that .85 for recreational activities in destination choices scale, 0.90 for SITM and 0.91 for SETM. While the push and pull travel motivation of the participants was above the mean values (123.96 ± 15.65; 121.35 ± 16.81), the highest subscale score in push travel motivation was obtained by the Exploring-Knowledge subdimension (39.01 ± 5.74). The highest sub-dimension score was obtained from the Escape sub-dimension (38.31 ± 5.98). In the pull travel motivation sub-dimensions, the highest sub-dimension score was the quality-atmosphere sub-dimension (39.29 ± 5.24), while the lowest sub-dimension score was obtained by the Natural Environment sub-dimension (19.98 ± 4.58). The findings of the study showed that the importance given to recreational activities was influenced by variables such as gender, year of study and perceived welfare, but also revealed differences in gender, field of study, year of study, and perceived welfare in push and pull travel motivations. In addition, there is a moderate positive relationship between recreational choices, push travel motivation and pull travel motivation. As a result, it has been determined that university students have high push and pull travel motivation and recreation preferences are differentiated between SITM and SETM by certain variables.

The aim of this study is to provide the validity and reliability analysis of the ?Serious Leisure Inventory and Measurement (Short Form)? SLIM and introduce it to the literature. The data obtained from 285 university students and the KMO-Barlett test was performed and the sample size was tested (0.89; 2506.309, p<0,001). A three subdimensions of structure was obtained by exploratory factor analysis. According to the exploratory factor analysis, the cut-off value was determined as 0.40, a total of 18 items were converted into a 12-item form by subtracting the loadbearing substances from the measuring instrument, and factor loads of three sub-dimensions were obtained between 0.55 and 0.83. In addition to the factor analysis results, 65% of the total variance was obtained, internal consistency coefficients were taken, respectively 0.83, 0.84 and 0.75 were found for each sub-dimension. The total internal reliability coefficient was found to be 0.88. Confirmatory factor analysis was performed to test the validity and accuracy of the structure obtained after the exploratory factor analysis with 350 students. It is observed that the CFA performed after the test retest constitutes evidence for the structure validity (RMSEA 0.069, SRMR 0.60, NFI 0.94, CFI 0.96, GFI 0.94, x2/df 2.42). As a result, a valid and reliable measurement tool for serious leisure has been introduced.

The aim of this study is to determine serious leisure perspectives of professional athletes. 689 athletes selected through random sampling participated in the study. The data were collected with the "Serious Leisure Inventory and Measure (Short Form) (SLIM)," developed by Gould et al. (2011) adapted to Turkish by Ozdemir, Ayyildiz Durhan, and Akgül (2020) which consisting of 12 items and 3 sub-dimensions. It was determined that the data were not distributed homogeneously and non parametric tests were applied. In the analysis of the data, descriptive statistics, Man Whitney U, Kruskall Wallis, Tukey (HSD-LSD) and Pearson Correlation test were used for within-group comparisons. In this study, total internal reliability coefficient of SLIM (short form) scale was determined as 0.93. Participants had higher SLIM scores (89,60 ± 15,76), the highest subscale score was "identification with pursuit and social outcomes" sub-dimension (37,39 ± 7,35), and the lowest subscale score was "individual outcomes" (22,30 ± 4,39). Significant relationships and differences were found among the variables of gender, sports, age of athletics, number of trainings per week, participation status of international competitions, perceived challenge of duties, perceived skill development and perceived total development. As a result of the research, it was determined that professional athletes had high serious leisure perspectives and this situation being in interaction with certain variables.

The aim of the study to determine the intrinsic leisure motivation level of university students and to evaluate the relationship and differences between some variables. 739 university students from different fields participated in the study and the data were collected with "Intrinsic Leisure Motivation Scale" developed by Weissinger and Bandalos (1995), adapted to Turkish which consists of 5 sub-dimensions and 23 items by Özdemir, Ayyildiz Durhan and Karaküçük (2020). Descriptive statistics, independent one-sample test, one-way ANOVA test and Tukey (HSD-LSD) test were used for data analysis. In this study, the intrinsic consistency coefficient of 0.83 for Competence-Challenge, 0.86 for Self-Determination, 0.77 for Commitment, 0.71 for Identification and 0.70 for Amotivation were obtained. As a result of the analysis, it was found that the intrinsic leisure motivation scores of the university students were above the average values (111.71 ± 21.00) for this sample group. The lowest average (13.76 ± 4.32) was obtained. Significant relationships and differences were determined according to gender, the field of study, school year and perceived welfare levels of the participants. According to this, a significant difference was found in favor of men according to the Identification sub-dimension and in favor of women according to Amotivation sub-dimension. When the differences between the learning fields and the measurement tool were examined, it was observed that sports science students showed higher ILM in all significant differences than the students in other learning fields. In the perceived welfare variable, it was found that the participants who perceived welfare levels as normal had higher levels of intrinsic leisure motivation than the other participants. At the same time, it can be said that the motivation for intrinsic leisure time increases as the school year increases. As a result of the research, it can be stated that the level of intrinsic leisure motivation of university students is high and variables such as gender, education field and year, perceived welfare level differ.

The purpose of this research is the examination of meeting management skills of District Directors of National Education according to the perception of school managers. Scanning model, as one of the Quantitative methods, was used in the research. The research universe is the managers of schools in districts of Maltepe, Sultanbeyli, Kartal and Pendik. 309 school managers formed the sample of the research which was determined by a random sampling method. According to the education level of school managers, in their perception of meeting management skills of District Directors of National Education, no significant difference was found in sub-dimensions of participant management, time management, and management of meeting room facilities, management of meeting agenda, and management of minutes of meeting. However, a significant difference was found in the sub-dimension of meeting management skills and in total scale. Managers with a B.A degree evaluated more positively the District Directors of National Education than managers with a graduate degree. According to the duties of the school managers, there was a significant difference in the sub-dimension of participant management among the arithmetic averages (mean) of the groups in the meeting management skills of the District Director of National Education. While there was a significant difference in total scale and in skills of meeting management and time management regarding school managers' perception of meeting management skills of the District Director of National Education according to the age of school managers, there was no difference in other sub-dimensions.

Objectives: Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic, progressive disease with increasing worldwide prevalence and is a public health problem because of the high cost of treatment and complications. Adropin has been discovered in recent years, and it has been reported to be associated with glucose, lipid metabolism, and endothelial dysfunction. In this study, it was aimed to investigate the relationship between erectile dysfunction and Adropin level in Type 2 diabetic male patients. Methods: Forty patients with type 2 DM with erectile dysfunction and 25 patients with type 2 DM without erectile dysfunction, aged between 40 and 60, who applied to the internal medicine outpatient clinic between November 2019 and March 2020, were included in the prospective study. In addition to routine blood tests in the study groups, Adropin levels were measured using the ELISA method. Results: The study was conducted with 65 men aged 40 and 60 between November 2019 and February 2020. The mean age of the men was 52.71±6.04. The study used 40 (61.5%) Case groups and 25 (38.5%) Control groups. The case group consisted of 12 (18.5%) Mild ED, 20 (30.8%) Moderate ED, and 8 (12.8%) Severe ED, and the control group consisted of Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Patients without erectile dysfunction. Conclusion: According to our results, serum Adropin levels in Mild ED, Moderate ED, and Severe ED groups were found to be higher than those in Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus patients without erectile dysfunction. Aim: There is growing recognition of the critical role of platelets in inflammation and immune responses. However, the role of platelets in lung inflammation in patients with cystic fibrosis (CF) is unclear. Therefore, we aimed to investigate platelet count (PC) and mean platelet volume (MPV) in various clinical conditions in CF patients. Materials and Methods: A total of 53 pediatric patients with CF were enrolled in this study. Data was retrospectively obtained from the patients' medical records for PC and MPV, and then categorized into 6 groups according to their pulmonary exacerbation and non-pulmonary exacerbation status in chronically colonized or non-colonized patients with CF. The groups were then compared statistically. Results: The mean age of the patients was 8.01±5.34 years with a male to female ratio of 30:23. In the acute pulmonary exacerbation period, all patients with CF had higher PC than those in a non-pulmonary exacerbation period independent of their chronic colonization status (p<0.05). However, PC was not different in non-colonized patients whether they were in acute pulmonary exacerbation or non-pulmonary exacerbation periods (p>0.05). Importantly, MPV did not show any statistical significance in any compared settings among these CF patients. Conclusion: Platelets may play an important role along with other inflammatory cells and mediators in CF lung inflammation during pulmonary exacerbations. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

This study investigated the correlation between Zest for work and self-efficacy in the retention of professional referee careers. The research employed a relational screening model and used convenience sampling owing to the ongoing season. A total of 330 referees participated, comprising 47% (n = 155) basketball referees, 19% (n = 63) handball referees, 17% (n = 56) football referees, and 17% (n = 56) volleyball referees. Among the referees, 23.3% (n = 44) were female, and 76.7% were male. A personal information form as a data collection tool was used for the research, The Referee Retention Scale (RRS), The Zest for Work Scale for Referees (ZWSR) and "The Referee Self-Efficacy Scale (REFS)". Data analysis was conducted using SPSS 25. The t-test was used to compare the referees' RSS, ZWSR, REFS, and sub-categories by gender, and one-way ANOVA was used to compare them by branch. The Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient was used to determine the relationships between the age and seniority of the referees and the relationships between the RSS and its subcategories, ZWSR and REFS, and their sub-categories. Multiple linear regression analysis was used to predict the referees' retention of professional careers. The significance level was taken as p <.05. When the findings were examined; it was concluded that an increase in Zest for work and perceived self-efficacy positively influenced the referees' attitudes and willingness to continue working in the field. The multiple linear regression analysis results regarding predicting the continuation of referees in their profession show that professional satisfaction and self-efficacy positively influence referees' decisions to remain and persist in their profession. This study aimed to assess the predictive value of systemic inflammatory parameters and the prognostic nutritional index (PNI) in identifying lymphatic metastases in papillary thyroid cancers (PTC). PTCs, characterized by their in dolent nature and favorable prognosis, frequently disseminate to cervical lymphnodes, impacting recurrence and prognosis. However, the preoperative identification rate of cervical lymphnode metastases ranges from 20% to 75%, necessitating supplemental examinations for precise detection and surgical planning. A retrospective analysis of 441 thyroidectomy cases, encompassing 272 PTC patients, was conducted. Patients were categorized into two cohorts: 221 lacked lymphnode metastases, while 51 exhibited lymphatic metastases. Parameters including age, gender, systemic inflammatory markers derived from hemogram tests, serum albumin levels, and postoperative histopathology findings were scrutinized to evaluate the predictive potential of systemic inflammatory parameters and PNI in discerning between the two cohorts. The findings revealed that neutrophil-to-lymphocyte ratio (NLR), platelet-to-lymphocyte ratio (PLR), and systemic immune-inflammation index (SII) values bore statistically significant predictive capacity (p<0.05) in preoperatively detecting cervical lymphnode metastases in PTC. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves delineated the efficacy of NLR, PLR, and SII in prognostication. NLR exhibited an area under the curve (AUC) value of 0.932 (95% CI, 0.902-0.962; p<0.001), while PLR yielded an AUC value of 0.638 (95% CI, 0.555-0.721; p=0.002). SII analysis yielded an AUC value of 0.798 (95% CI, 0.736-0.861; p<0.001). Conversely, the prognostic nutritional index (PNI) demonstrated meager predictive utility, registering an AUC value of 0.192 (95% CI, 0.124-0.260; p<0.001), positioning below the reference line on the ROC curve. In conclusion, this study under scores NLR's utility in identifying cervical lymphnode metastases in PTC. While PLR and SII evince some association with lymphnode metastasis detection, their predictive efficacy remains constrained. Additionally, despite statistical significance, PNI exhibited in efficacy in forecasting lymphnode metastases. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
