The aim of the study is to develop a more economic and easier method which has lower temperature in obtaining ZrO2 thin films contrary to the literature. In this study, we produced thin ZrO2 films on amorphous glass substrates through the wet chemical method by using different chemicals with the same starting reactive. X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-VIS) spectroscopy measurements of the produced films were conducted and the results were compared. The best method has been identified at the end of the analysis and it has been observed that the features of the films produced with this method have given better results than both the films produced by using different reagents and the films produced in literature.

In this work, it has been investigated current-voltage (I-V) andcapacitance-voltage-frequency (C-V-f) characteristics of the Al/SafranineT(ST)/n-Si structure. The values of the ideality factor, series resistance and barrier height calculated by using different methods were compared. It was seen that there was an agreement with each other. Also, it was seen that the barrier height value for our device was higher than one value of 0.50 eV of conventional Al/n-Si Schottky contact. The change in the barrier height value of the device was ascribed to ST thin layer modifying the effective barrier height by influencing the space charge region of the Si inorganic semiconductor. The downward concave curvature of the forward bias current-voltage characteristics at sufficiently large voltages have been attributed to the effect of series resistance. Thus, the concavity of the forward bias current-voltage characteristics increases with increasing series resistance value. It has been seen that the values of capacitance are almost independent to a certain value of frequency, after this value, the capacitance decreases with increasing frequency. The higher values of capacitance at low frequencies have been attributed to the excess capacitance resulting from the interface states in equilibrium with the n-Silicon that could follow the alternating current signal.

We have studied the I-V, C-V and C-f characteristics of the Aniline Green (AG)/n-type Si structure. In organic/inorganic semiconductor contact applications, in order to keep the technological difficulties and unknowns to a minimum, silicon is generally chosen as the substrate semiconducting material. In this structure, deposition of organic materials on the inorganic semiconductor can generate large number of interface states at the semiconductor surface that strongly influence the electrical properties of the AG/n-Si structure. The values of the ideality factor, series resistance and barrier height obtained from two methods were compared, and it was seen that there was an agreement with each other. The downward concave curvature of the forward bias current-voltage characteristics at sufficiently large voltages is caused by the presence of the effect of series resistance. Thus, the concavity of the forward bias current-voltage characteristics increases with the increasing series resistance value. The high resistance values have given the high ideality factors. Also, the higher values of capacitance at low frequencies were attributed to the excess capacitance resulting from the interface states in equilibrium with the nSi that can follow the ac signal.

PTCDI-C8, yüksek mobilite ve n-tipi yarıiletken özelliklere sahip elektronik ve optoelektronik cihazlar için çok önemli bir organik malzemedir. Organik-inorganik hibrit cihazların yaygın olarak kullanılması, organik moleküllü yarı iletkenlerin farklı optoelektronik cihazlarda kullanılmasını ve elektriksel özelliklerinin ortaya çıkarılmasını önemli hale getirmiştir. Bu çalışmada, PTCDI-C8 yarı iletken organik molekülün ince bir filminin p-tipi silikon üzerinde sol-jel spin kaplama tekniği ile büyütülmesiyle PTCDI-C8/p-Si heteroeklemi oluşturulmuştur. Karşılaştırma için, aynı koşullar altında ara katmanı olmayan p-Si/Al metal-yarı iletken (MS) diyot da üretildi. PTCDI-C8/p-Si/Al heteroeklem ve p-Si/Al MS diyotun elektriksel özellikleri, oda sıcaklığında akım-gerilim (I-V) ve kapasitans-gerilim (C-V) ölçümleri ile araştırıldı. Her iki diyot da iyi doğrultucu özellikler gösterdi. PTCDI-C8/p-Si/Al heteroekleminin idealite faktörü (2.1), bariyer yüksekliği (0.74 eV) ve seri direnci (248 kΩ) I–V karakteristiklerinden elde edildi. PTCDI-C8/p-Si/Al heteroeklem için elde edilen engel yükseklği(BH), geleneksel Al/p-Si Schottky diyotu için elde edilenden daha yüksektir. PTCDI-C8 organik ince film tabakası, Al/p-Si Schottky diyotun etkin bariyer yüksekliğini değiştirerek Al metal ve p-Si arasında fiziksel bir bariyer oluşturdu. Cihazın fotovoltaik parametreleri de 100 mW/cm2 ve AM1.5 aydınlatma koşulunda belirlenmiştir. PTCDI-C8/p-Si/Al heteroekleminin açık devre voltajı (Voc = 320 mV) ve kısa devre akımı (Isc = 1,91 µA) ile bir fotodiyot davranışı sergiler., PTCDI-C8 is a very important organic material for electronic and optoelectronic devices with high mobility, n-type semiconductor properties. The widespread use of organic-inorganic hybrid devices has made it important to use organic molecule semiconductors in different optoelectronic devices and to reveal their electrical properties. In this work, PTCDI-C8/p-Si heterojunction was formed by growing a thin film of PTCDI-C8 semiconductor organic molecule on p-type silicon by sol-gel spin coating technique. For comparison, p-Si/Al metal-semiconductor (MS) diode without interlayer was also produced under the same conditions. Electrical properties of PTCDI-C8/p-Si/Al heterojunction and p-Si/Al MS diode were investigated by current-voltage (I-V) and capacitance-voltage (C-V) measurements at room temperature. Both junctions showed good rectifying properties. The ideality factor (2.1), barrier height (0.74 eV) and series resistance (248 kΩ) of the PTCDI-C8/p-Si/Al heterojunction were obtained from I–V characteristics. The barrier height obtained for the PTCDI-C8/p-Si/Al heterojunction is higher than that of obtained for the conventional Al/p-Si Schottky diode. PTCDI-C8 organic thin film layer formed a physical barrier between Al metal and p-Si, modifying the effective barrier height of the Al/p-Si Schottky diode. The photovoltaic parameters of the device have been also determined under 100 mW/cm2 and AM1.5 illumination condition. The PTCDI-C8/p-Si/Alg heterojunction exhibits a photodiode behavior with open circuit voltage (Voc = 320 mV) and short circuit current (Isc = 1.91 µA).

Boya duyarlı güneş pilleri (Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell-DSSC) üçüncü nesil güneş pili olup güneş pili türleri içinde çevreye duyarlı ve maliyet açısından avantajlı olmalarına rağmen verimlilik ve kararlılık açısından istenen düzeyde olmamaları en büyük dezavantajlarıdır. Bu dezavantajları DSSC’lerin güneş pili sektöründe söz sahibi olmaları önünde büyük bir problemdir. Bu tez çalışmasında boya duyarlı güneş pillerinde duyarlaştırıcı olarak Quercetin Cu(II) kompleksi kullanılmıştır. Karşılaştırma amacıyla referans pilde duyarlaştırıcı olarak N3 boyası ismi ile bilinen Cis-bis(isothiocyanato) bis(2,2’-bipyridyl-4,4’- dicarboxylato ruthenium(II) kullanılmıştır. ITO kaplı cam üzerine doctor blade tekniği ile kaplanan TiO2 fotoanotlarının XRD ve SEM ile karakterizasyonu yapılmıştır. XRD sonuçlarından TiO2 fotoanodunun anataz fazında olduğu, SEM görüntülerinden de gözenekli süngerimsi yapıda olduğu ve yaklaşık 30 pm kalınlığında olduğu tespit edildi. Tasarlanan pillerden Quercetin Cu(II) ve N3 boya ile elde edilen Voc,Isc, p değerleri 1,5 AM (100mW/cm2) standart şartlarında sırasıyla Voc:0 . 6 V, Isc:0 . 5 7 mA, p: %0.093 ve Vo c : 0 . 7 6 V, Isc : 1.478 mA , p: %0.199 şeklinde olmuştur. Önceki çalışmalarda N3 boya ile elde edilen en iyi verimin %10 olduğu düşünüldüğünde ideal koşular yaratıldığında Quercetin Cu(II) ile hazırladığımız pilin verimi yaklaşık %5 civarında olacağı tespit edilmiştir. Yaptığımız çalışmada pilin performansını doğrudan etkileyen ikinci bir parametre olan karlılığı açısından incelendi. Altı hafta boyunca haftalık periyotlarla alınan ölçümlerde duyarlaştırıcı olarak Quercetin Cu(II) kompleksi kullandığımız güneş pilinin son derece kararlı bir yapı sergilediğini gözlemlendi., Dye-sensitized solar cells (Dye-Sensitized Solar Cell-DSSC) are third generation solar cells and although they are environmentally friendly and cost-effective among solar cell types, their biggest disadvantage is that they are not at the desired level in terms of efficiency and stability. These disadvantages are an important problem for DSSCs to have a say in the solar cell industry. In this thesis, Quercetin Cu (II) complex was used as a sensitizer in dye sensitized solar cells. For comparison purposes, Cis-bis (isothiocyanato) bis (2,2'-bipyridyl-4,4'-dicarboxylato) ruthenium (II), known as N3 Dye, was used as the sensitizer in the reference battery. TiO2 photoanodes coated with doctor blade technique on ITO coated glass were characterized by XRD and SEM. It was determined from the XRD results that the TiO2 photoanode was in the anatase phase and from the SEM images it was porous, spongy, and approximately 30 gm thickness. The values Voc, Isc, g obtained with Quercetin Cu (II) and N3 dye from the designed batteries was Vo c :0 . 6 V, Isc :0 . 5 7 mA, g: 0.093% and Vo c :0 . 7 6 V, Isc :1.478 mA, g: 0.199%, respectively, under the standard conditions of 1.5 AM (100 mW / cm2). Considering that the best efficiency obtained with N3 dye in previous studies was 10%, it was determined that the efficiency of the battery we prepared with Quercetin Cu (II) would be around 5% when ideal conditions were created. In our study, it was examined in terms of stability, a second parameter that directly affects the performance of the battery. It was observed that the solar cell, in which we used Quercetin Cu (II) complex as a sensitizer, displayed an extremely stable structure in the measurements taken in weekly periods for six weeks., İÇİN D EK İLER TEZ B İL D İR İM 1. Bu çalışmada, elektriksel ve optiksel özelliklerini incelemek için daha önce sentezlenmiş, ? bağları açısından zengin ve ligandları farklı olan [Cu2(L5 )(NO3)2][NO3]2, [Cu2(L2 )(NO3)2][NO3]2, [Cu2(L7 )(ClO4)2][ClO4]2, [Cu2(L8 )(ClO4)2][ClO4]2 ve [Cu2(L4 )(ClO4)2][ClO4]2 organik Cu(II) kompleksleri kullanıldı. Kompleksler sırasıyla C1, C2, C3, C4 ve C5 ile adlandırıldı. Optiksel özelliklerin incelenmesi için komplekslerin ince filmleri cam ve n-Si üzerine spin kaplama metodu ile oluşturuldu. Cam üzerine oluşturulan ince filmlerin UV-VIS spekrometresi soğurma ölçümlerinden optiksel enerji band aralığı (Eg) belirlendi. n-tipi Si altlık üzerine oluşturulan ince filmlerinin spektroskopik elipsometre ölçümlerinden kırılma indisi (n) ve sönüm katsayısı (k) gibi optiksel parametrelerinin spektrumları belirlendi. Elektriksel özelliklerinin incelenmesi için komplekslerin ince filmleri inorganik yarıiletkenler üzerine spin kaplama metodu ile oluşturuldu. Böylece organikinorganik (OI) yapıları oluşturuldu. Au metalinin organik-inorganik yapılar üzerine buharlaştırılması ile metal/organik/yarıiletken (Au/Cu(II) kompleks/n-Si) yapısı oluşturuldu. Ligandları farklı olan Cu(II) kompleksleri ile oluşturulan Au/Cu(II) kompleks/n-Si yapılarının elektriksel karakterizasyonu için karanlıkta ve oda sıcaklığında akım-gerilim (I-V) ölçümleri alındı. İdealite faktörü (n), engel yüksekliği ( ) ve doyma akımı (I0) gibi diyot parametreleri belirlendi ve literatürdeki ara tabakasız Au/n-Si diyotları ile karşılaştırıldı. I-V ölçümlerinden hesaplanan diyot parametreleri Cheung fonksiyonları ile yeniden hesaplandı ve karşılaştırıldı. Tüm yapıların farklı frekanslarda ve oda sıcaklığında kapasite-gerilim (C-V) ölçümleri alındı. C-V ölçümlerinden elde edilen sonuçlar I-V ölçümlerinden elde edilenlerle karşılaştırıldı. Ayrıca metal/organik/yarıiletken yapısının fotoelektriksel karakterizasyonu için tüm yapıların I-V ölçümleri güneş simülatörü ile 100 mW/cm 2 ışık şiddetine ve AM1.5 spektrumuna sahip ışık altında alınarak incelenmiş ve kısa devre akımı (Isc) ve açık devre gerilimi (Voc) gibi fotovoltaik parametreleri belirlenmiştir. The complexes were named as C1, C2, C3, C4 and C5, respectively. Thin films of Cu(II) complexes were formed by spin coating method on glass and n-Si substrates to investigate optical properties. Optical energy band gap (Eg) of thin films which formed on glass substrate were determined by measuring the UV-VIS absorption spectrometry. Optical parameters such as refractive index (n) and extinction coefficient (k) spectra of thin films on n-type Si substrate were determined by spectroscopic ellipsometry measurements. To investigate the electrical properties, thin films of the complexes were formed by spin coating on inorganic semiconductors. Thus organic-Inorganic (OI) structures were fabricated. Metal/Organic/Inorganic (Au/Cu(II) complex/n-Si) structure was created by evaporation of Au metal on organic/inorganic structure. For electrical characterization of Au / Cu(II) complex / n-Si structures current-voltage (I-V) measurements were taken at room temperature in the dark conditions. Diode parameters such as ideality factor (n), barrier height ( ) and saturation current (I0) were determined and obtained parameters have been compared with Au/n-Si diode in the literature. Obtained results from I-V measurements have been also compared with results re-calculated by Cheung?s method. Capacity-voltage (C-V) measurements of all structures were taken at different frequency and room temperature. The results obtained from I-V measurements have been compared with those obtained from C-V measurements. Furthermore, photoelectrical characterization of metal/organic/semiconductor structures were investigated from I-V measurement under a solar simulator with 100 mW/cm2 light intensity and AM1.5 condition and their photovoltaic parameters such as short-circuit current (Isc) and open circuit voltage (Voc) were determined.
