Bu çalışma, Çevresel Kuznets Eğrisi (EKC) hipotezinin kullanılan çevresel bozulma göstergeleriyle ilişkili olup olmadığına dair literatürde devam eden tartışmalara yeni bir bakış açısı getirmeyi amaçlamaktadır. Bu kapsamda, ekolojik ayak izi ve CO2 emisyonuna odaklanılmaktadır. CO2 emisyonu bağımlı değişkeni için 1986-2018; ekolojik ayak izi bağımlı değişkeni için 1986-2016 dönem arasındaki yıllık veriler kullanılmıştır. Çalışmada, ilgili dönem aralıklarında, 9 tane N-11 ülkesinde, CO2 emisyonu ve ekolojik ayak izi üzerinde, ekonomik büyüme, enerji tüketimi ve nüfus yoğunluğunun etkisi incelenmiştir. Yöntem olarak kesitsel bağımlılığı dikkate alan CIPS birim kök testi ve Westerlund eşbütünleşme testi kullanılmıştır. Tahmin metodunda ise kesitsel bağımlılığı ve eğim heterojenliğini dikkate alan AMG ve CCEMG yöntemleri kullanılmıştır. Ampirik bulgular, N-11 ülkelerinde EKC hipotezinin geçerli olmadığını ortaya koymuştur. Ayrıca, CO2 emisyonu ve ekolojik ayak izi üzerinde enerji tüketiminin beklendiği gibi pozitif bir etkisinin olduğu, nüfus yoğunluğunun ise istatistiki olarak anlamlı bir etkisinin olmadığı tespit edilmiştir. Bu makalede, politika yapıcılara sürdürülebilir çevresel ve ekonomik kalkınma için bir dizi politika önerisinde bulunulmuştur.

Objectives: This study was carried out in order to determine the prevalence of obesity among the students of the Faculty of Health Sciences and to evaluate the anthropometric measurements of the students. Materials and methods: The population of the study was in total 984 volunteering undergraduate students from Ankara University Faculty of Health Sciences, Child Development, Midwifery, Nursing, Health Management and Social Work departments. The sociodemographic characteristics of the students were obtained with the help of the questionnaire and the anthropometric measurements by the researchers. SPSS package program was used for descriptive statistics, chi-square test and multiple logistic regression analysis for assessment of data. Results: 16.5% of the students participating in the study were overweight and 4.5% were obese. Approximately half of the students who are overweight and obese reported staying in the dormitory. Average BMI value in males is 23.1 kg/m2 and 22.3 kg/m2 in females. 29.1% of females are at risk in terms of abdominal obesity and 30.6% of males in terms of waist/height ratio. Male gender and presence of an obese person in the family increases the risk of being overweight or obese. Conclusions: Risky health behaviors are observed among university students and in order to avoid such behaviors, it is necessary to provide training especially on subjects such as nutrition and physical activity. For more than a century, fasting regimens have improved health, lifespan, and tissue regeneration in diverse organisms, including humans. However, how fasting and post-fast refeeding impact adult stem cells and tumour formation has yet to be explored in depth. Here, we demonstrate that post-fast refeeding increases intestinal stem cell (ISC) proliferation and tumour formation: Post-fast refeeding augments the regenerative capacity of Lgr5+ intestinal stem cells (ISCs), and loss of the tumour suppressor Apc in ISCs under post-fast refeeding leads to a higher tumour incidence in the small intestine and colon than in the fasted or ad libitum (AL) fed states. This demonstrates that post-fast refeeding is a distinct state. Mechanistically, we discovered that robust induction of mTORC1 in post-fast-refed ISCs increases protein synthesis via polyamine metabolism to drive these changes, as inhibition of mTORC1, polyamine metabolite production, or protein synthesis abrogates the regenerative or tumourigenic effects of post-fast refeeding. Thus, fast-refeeding cycles must be carefully considered when planning diet-based strategies for regeneration without increasing cancer risk, as post-fast refeeding leads to a burst not only in stem cell-driven regeneration but also in tumourigenicity.

The level of public sector debt varies according to the government’s size, scope, and activities. Borrowing positively affects the level of production and employment in the country when it occurs in the right conditions. The benefits and damages of borrowing vary from country to country and may have different consequences. The emergence of opposing views for or against borrowing may be caused by the evidence. In this study, the effects of total investment and economic growth on borrowing were examined with the data of the period 1995-2021. Granger causality and VAR analysis methods were used in the analysis. According to Granger’s evidence, there is a bidirectional relationship between economic growth and public debt. The results show that there is a causal relationship between economic growth and total investment. Affirming variance decomposition and impact-response analysis, most of the shock to government debt is because of economic growth. The impact of the total investment on government debt is also small. This result shows that policymakers should pay attention to the potential risks of public debt when implementing policies to promote economic growth. To keep sound debt management, future policies should emphasize budgetary discipline and they should make no compromises. Using borrowed funds for total investment and the promotion of high-value-added investments are also crucial for maintaining a healthy growth policy. Article visualizations

ARDL sınır testi yaklaşımı kullanılarak analiz yapılmadan önce, serilerin birim kökü incelenmiş ve birinci farkta durağan ve yapısal değişikliklere duyarlı olduğu bulunmuştur. Ampirik kanıtlar, ithalat ve ihracat ile ekonomik büyüme arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişki olduğunu göstermektedir. Sonuçlar, ihracatın ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisinin kısa ve uzun vadede negatif olduğunu göstermektedir. Başka bir deyişle, ihracattaki artış ekonomik büyüme için zararlıdır. International audience; Here we describe new marine vertebrate remains, mainly isolated teeth, from the Upper Cretaceous (Coniacian-Santonian) of near Mardin, SE Turkey. This is the first report in this area of ptychodontid sharks (elasmobranchs), enchodontid teleosts (actinopterygians) and mosasaurid squamates (reptiles). The respective taxa Ptychodus cf. mortoni, Enchodus sp., Platecarpus sp. and Mosasaurinae indet. are described. These new data improve our knowledge on early Late Cretaceous marine vertebrate faunas from the Arabic Platform, classically known previously mostly from the Maastrichtian outcrops of Middle-East and Northwestern Africa, and extend the palaeobiogeographical distribution of these taxa into the western part of the Mediterranean Tethys, confirming their cosmopolitan status.; Nous décrivons ici de nouveaux restes de vertébrés marins, principalement des dents isolées, provenant du Crétacé supérieur (Coniacien-Santonien) près de Mardin, au Sud-Est de la Turquie. C’est la première mention dans cette région de requins ptychodontidés (élasmobranches), de téléostéens enchodontidés (actinoptérygiens) et de squamates mosasauridés (reptiles). SUMMARY OBJECTIVE: We aimed to determine which method gives the most consistent results between urethral monopolar cauterization and standard urethral partial ligation methods for the urethral obstruction model. METHODS: Thirty male rats were randomly divided into control, partial ligation, and monopolar cauterization groups. Yetki, yeterlik ve güvenirliğin onaylandığı sertifikalı bir kalite güvence sistemi ve süreci olarak görülen akreditasyon, kalite güvencesi ile iç içe girmiş bir kavramdır. Akreditasyon, kurum ve programların markalaşmasında ve sürdürülebilir biçimde kalmasına katkı sağlamaktadır. Akreditasyon, birçok ülkede ve sektörde topluma sunulan program ve hizmetlerin niteliğinin sistematik bir yaklaşımla güvence altına alınması için geliştirilen bir yöntemdir. Yükseköğretim sisteminde de akreditasyon, kalite ve niteliğin önemli göstergelerinden biri olarak kabul edilebilir. Akreditasyona inanan, bu çerçevede niteliğin artırılmasına yönelik görev ve sorumluluk üstlenen öğretim elemanları ise kurumun kurumsallaşmasına ve sürdürülebilir iyileşmesine daha fazla katkıda bulunabilir. Bu bağlamda araştırmanın amacı, Bartın Üniversitesi akademik birimlerinde görev yapan öğretim elemanlarının akreditasyon algılarının belirlenmesidir. Tarama modeli ile gerçekleştirilen araştırmada kolay ulaşılabilir örneklem yöntemiyle toplam 181 öğretim elemanına ulaşılmıştır. Akreditasyon Algısı Ölçeği ile toplanan veriler SPSS programı kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda öğretim elemanlarının akreditasyon algısının yüksek düzeyde olduğu görülmüştür. Öğretim elemanlarının akreditasyon algısının yükseltilmesi ve bu algının somut olarak niteliğe dönüşmesine ilişkin çalışmalar yapılmalıdır.

An anomaly was recorded in the pecten shape of the scorpion species Mesobuthus turcicus Kovařík et al., 2022 that was recently described from Turkey. In this case, it is observed that marginal and median lamellae and fulcrae are fused in the right pecten. For this reason, the pecten is bent counter clockwise. Different from other pectinal anomalies, the size of teeth is developed normally but teeth number is fewer. This teratological anomaly on pecten is described and illustrated. This is the first report of pecten anomaly based on marginal and median lamellae.

OBJECTIVE To report current results of a new surgical technique, tubularized reconstructed plate urethroplasty (TRPU) in distal hypospadias repair which allows the tubularization of urethral plate without incision or grafting. METHODS This study is a prospective single surgeon series. Between January 2019 and March 2020, total of 158 patients underwent hypospadias repair, and 29 selected patients had TRPU procedure. Demographic data, duration of follow-up, complications were recorded. A vertical incision is made starting from halfway up the glans. This incision creates a diamond like defect which enables wedge removal of a segment of spongiosum tissue from the base of urethral plate extending to the hypospadiac meatus. Vertical incision is closed horizontally. The urethral plate is stretched and loosened from the base and re-secured into its bed using quilting stitches. Reconstructed urethral plate ensures the required width to allow the formation of neourethra of adequate circumference, followed by a formal glansplasty. RESULTS Preoperative glans width was 13.4 ± 0.9 mm, urethral plate width was 6.1 ± 0.9 mm. Mean postoperative follow-up period was 13.6 months. All patients had successful functional outcome and cosmetically satisfying appearance. None of the patients required meatal calibration. The total complication rate was 3.4%. CONCLUSION Native urethral plate itself is used as a natural flap to increase the surface area of the urethral plate in this new perspective of urethroplasty method. We believe that TRPU procedure provides an alternative approach for the formation of neourethra and it is a successful and relatively simple procedure with low complication rates, good cosmetic results and promising successful functional short-term outcome.

Mondros Mütarekesi akabinde Osmanlı Devleti parçalanmak istenmiş, bunun üzerine Mustafa Kemal (1881-1938) devletin işgaline karşı Anadolu merkezli Millî Mücadele hareketi başlatmıştır. Bu mücadele hiç şüphesiz toprakları yabancı güçler tarafından işgal edilmeye yüz tutmuş bir devletin yeniden inşası ve bekası bakımından oldukça önem arz etmektedir. Bu nedenle, Mustafa Kemal ve silah arkadaşları İstanbul Hükümeti’nden bağımsız Erzurum, Sivas kongreleri düzenlenmiş ve belli bir mücadele planı yapmışlardır. Başta askeri erkan olmak üzere, ilmiye sınıfı, aşiret ağaları yanında ulusal ve yöresel çapta faaliyet gösteren tarikat şeyhleri de bu mücadeleye çok büyük katkı sağlamışlardır. Bu makalede, Anadolu’da başlayan Millî Mücadele yıllarında gerek İstanbul gerekse İstanbul dışında faaliyet gösteren tekke ve tarikat şeyhlerinin katkıları ele alınmıştır. Çalışmanın kapsamı daha ziyade 1918-1923 yıllarıyla sınırlı tutulmuştur. Bu bir arşiv çalışması değildir. Bu nedenle yararlanılan kaynaklar mümkün mertebe o dönem ve daha sonra kaleme alınmış yazılı çalışmalardan oluşmaktadır. Çalışmamız akabinde sufilerin çok büyük bir kısmının vatanın müdafaasında Gazi’nin yanında yer aldıkları, kimilerinin fiilen müritleriyle birlikte savaşlara iştirak ettikleri görülmüştür. Yine bu gibi zevatın bazen motive güç olarak halkı cesaretlendirdiği, bazı tekkelerin Anadolu’ya silah sevkiyatında adeta bir üs olarak görev üstlendiği anlaşılmıştır. Millî Mücadele başarıldıktan sonra yeni Cumhuriyetin başkenti ilan edilen Ankara, Hacı Bayrâm-ı Velî (öl. 833/1429-30) etrafında teşekkül eden manevi bir atmosfere ev sahipliği yapmış, yeni Meclis burada kılınan Cuma Namazı akabinde kurbanlar kesilerek ve dua edilerek açılmıştır. Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) is a common disorder with important clinical consequences. Many studies have proven that hypertension is one of the most important comorbid disorders in PCOS. Masked hypertension is defined as a presence of normal office blood pressure together with abnormal results in 24-h ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM). The prevalence of this condition in patients with PCOS is not well defined. The aim of this study was to evaluate the prevalence of masked hypertension in PCOS compared to control subjects.Sixty patients with PCOS and 60 control subjects were enrolled in the study. All patients with PCOS and controls without a history of hypertension underwent physical examination including office blood pressure measurement, ABPM, and measurement of laboratory and anthropometric parameters.Mean age was 30.5 ± 6.6 in control group and 26.4 ± 7.1 year in patients with PCOS (This study demonstrates increased masked hypertension prevalence in patients with PCOS. We suggest that all patients with PCOS should undergo ambulatory blood pressure monitoring for detecting masked hypertension.

Kapitalist sistemin temel çatışma öğesi olan emek ve sermaye arasındaki mücadelelerin teknoloji bağlamında ele alınması ve buradan hareketle teknolojik gelişmelerin gelir dağılımı üzerinden incelenmesi, kapitalizmin eşitsizlik üzerine kurulu sosyo-ekonomik yapısının gözlenmesine imkân tanımaktadır. Dolayısıyla, bu çalışmanın temel amacı, teknolojik gelişmenin fonksiyonel gelir dağılımı üzerindeki etkisini Türkiye ekonomisi itibariyle 1980-2021 dönemi için kantil regresyon analizi kullanarak incelemektir. Analiz bulguları, teknolojik gelişime bağlı olarak hem emek-içi ve hem sermaye-içi gelir dağılımının bozulduğunu ortaya koymuş, ancak emeğin milli gelirden aldığı payın çok daha fazla bozulmasına bağlı olarak fonksiyonel gelir dağılımının sermaye lehine değiştiğini göstermiştir. Ayrıca sonuçlar, teknolojik gelişim ile birlikte nitelikli emek gücünün milli gelir payının arttığını, niteliksiz emek gücünün atıl kaldığını, bu atıl işgücünün de kapitalist tarafından artı-değer amacıyla kullanıldığını ve böylece emek-içi gelir eşitsizliklerinin hızlandığını yansıtmıştır. Diğer taraftan, kapitalizmin sürüklediği rekabet yarışından galip çıkabilmek amacıyla teknolojiye yapılan yatırımların sermayenin temerküzüne yol açtığı da tespit edilmiş ve bu bağlamda sermaye sınıfı arasındaki gelir eşitsizliklerinin arttığı da gözlenmiştir. Genel olarak, teknolojik gelişim ile birlikte sermaye sınıfının zenginleştiği, işgücü sınıfının ise yoksullaştığı söylenebilmektedir.

Background Sternal cleft is a quite rare malformation. It is seen 1 out of 100,000 live births and makes up less than 1% of all chest wall deformities, seen more often among females. The deformity can be partial or complete. Partial deformities can be superior or inferior. It is generally diagnosed at birth when paradoxical respiratory movements are seen. Patients are often asymptomatic when they are born and generally other abnormalities accompany. As sternal clefts can be repaired primarily at early ages, they are repaired using autologous or synthetic grafts in the following years. We present a 2-month-old girl with superior partial sternal cleft repaired primary and accompanying hemangiomas in this case report. Case presentation A girl who was born in another center and had a sternal cleft, who did not have any problems in the early period, was admitted to our hospital with respiratory distress at the age of 43 days. The patient was monitored with mechanical ventilator support, and there were hemangiomas around his left ear and lips. There were paradoxical respiratory movements in front of the heart, in the upper midline of the chest. Three-dimensional computed tomography showed that the upper part of the sternum did not develop, and there were hypoplasic sternal bars on both sides. It was evaluated as superior partial sternal cleft, and surgery was planned. In the operation, the sternal bars were released from the pericardium and pleura. The periosteum in the medial of both sternal bars was then released and connected in the midline, in front of the pericardium. Conclusion Although neonates with a sternal cleft are asymptomatic at birth, respiratory symptoms may develop in later periods. In addition, because the structures are more flexible in the neonatal period, the primary repair of the cleft is easier and the risk of cardiac compression is lower. In our case, sternal bars could be approached primary, and no chondral grafts, patches, or steel wires were required.

In this study, we evaluated the electromechanical properties of atriums in patients with masked hypertension by using tissue Doppler echocardiographic technique to predict the predisposition to atrial arrhythmias.A total of 118 subjects were included in the study. Twenty-four-hour blood pressure monitorization (ABPM) was used to determinate the masked hypertension in the study group. Tissue Doppler imaging was used to find intra-left and -right atrial electromechanical delay (AEMD) and inter-atrial electromechanical delay. The results compared between patients with masked hypertension and without.There were 55 (%46.6) patients with masked hypertension and 63 (%53.4) patients without masked hypertension without any difference regarding age sex heart rate. No statistically significant difference was found in intra-right AEMD between the groups. Left ventricular end-diastolic and systolic diameters (Masked hypertension shares the same clinical outcomes like overt hypertension. Any effort must be given to prevent unwanted events in masked hypertensive patients. According to our findings we suggesting that masked hypertensive patients must be evaluated for atrial arrhythmia.

Buckwheat is a plant used for many purposes, such as consumed as a food and used in the treatment of diseases. It is a good source of many vitamins and minerals and has balanced nutritional value. Because of its nutrient content and many positive effects on human health, buckwheat has become a functional food, recently. Main effects of buckwheat on human health are its hypotensive, hypoglycemic, hypocholesterolemic, neuroprotective and antioxidant effects. Thus, it is considered an alternative food component in dietary treatment for chronic and metabolic diseases, such as diabetes, hypertension and celiac disease. Also, its rich nutrient content supports daily diet and provides a better eating profile. As a result, buckwheat is accepted as a functional food, suggested to improve human health and is used in the treatment of diseases. The aim of this review is to explain some positive effects of buckwheat on human health.

Purpose: Hypertension is a common chronic disorder with end organ damage. Hypertensive retinopathy is a response to elevated blood pressure characterized retinal arteriolar intimal thickening, hyperplasia of the intima-media end with sclerosis. There is a relationship between high blood pressure and retinopathy grade. Masked hypertension is a phenomenon of normal blood pressure in the office but high in out of office that associated with an increases risk of cardiovascular disease. In this study, we aimed to investigate retinopathy in masked hypertensive patients. Methods: We enrolled 92 patients with masked hypertension and 87 healthy controls in to the study. We use ambulatory blood pressure monitoring (ABPM) to detect the masked hypertension. Bilateral fundus examination was performed. Hypertensive retinopathy (HTRP) grading was determined according to the Keith-Wagener-Barker classification. We examined retinopathy grade in patients with masked hypertension and without. Results: 55 (11.6%) participants had signs of retinopathy. Fifty (54.3%) subjects had any retinopathy in patients with masked hypertension and five (5.7%) subjects had any retinopathy in controls (p < .001). Median of KWB grade was 1 (0-4) in patients with masked hypertension and 0 (0-2) in controls (p < .001). There were a positive significant correlation between KWB grade and day-time systolic blood pressure (r = 0.460, p < .001), day-time diastolic blood pressure (r = 0.448, p < .001), presence of masked hypertension (r = 0.527, p < .001). Conclusions: There was a considerable rate of any retinopathy in masked hypertension. The aim of the study is to investigate and evaluate the academic staff’s views on academic performance evaluation. The design of the study is phenomenological design among qualitative research models. In data collection, an interview form was formed by the researchers in order to reveal academic staff’s views about academic performance evaluation and there are five qualitative questions related to academic performance evaluation. The participants of the study consist of 21 academicians –determined with convenient sampling among purposeful sampling methods- working in a state university in the Black Sea Region of Turkey. The data were analysed by content analysis method. According to the findings; while the quality of the question and the question created by questionable publications in the academy were emphasized, the contribution of the academic performance evaluation systems to the quality was expressed. In terms of the quantity, it was concluded that more measurable performance is prioritized in evaluating academic performance and that this situation encourages more publications. It was determined that scientific activities, teaching activities and other activities are prioritized in terms of the elements included in the academic performance evaluation criteria in higher education institutions. In the academic performance evaluation systems, the teaching dimension and the student dimension are emphasized in the evaluation of teaching activities. It is seen that quality is at the forefront of the evaluation process of academic publications. It was determined that academic performance evaluation motivated the instructors in terms of financial gain as an external motivation and encouraging qualified publications. Furthermore, it was emphasized that area-specific differences were not taken into consideration and not enough motivation.

Gastrointestinal sistem değerlendirmesi sonucunda kolonoskopide çekum / çıkan kolon seviyesinde görülen ülserovejetatif kitleden biyopsi alındı ve sonuç adenokarsinom olarak raporlandı. Evreleme amaçlı yapılan F-18 Fluorodeoksiglikoz Pozitron Emisyon Tomografi görüntülemede; Yumuşak dokuda ve çıkan kolonda diffüz, boyun-mediasten-akciğer-kas grupları içerisinde ve batında lokalize olmak üzere çok sayıda hipermetabolik kitle ve sol femurda litik özellikli lezyon görüldü. Prostat bezi sol üst lateralde yerleşimli yoğun hipermetabolik odak (SUVmax: 18.4) izlendi. Ürolojik değerlendirmede digital rektal muayene ve prostat spesifik antijen normaldi. 12 kor prostat iğne biyopsisi yapılan hastada bir korda CD 20 ve BCL 2 pozitifliği, CD 3 negatifliği görüldü. Diğer doku biyopsileri ile uyumlu olarak prostatın sekonder diffüz büyük B- hücreli lenfoması olarak raporlandı. Eş zamanlı kolon adenokarsinomu, yaygın metastatik diffüz büyük B hücreli lenfoma ve buna sekonder prostat lenfoması görülen bu olguya benzer vaka sayısı literatüre bakıldığında oldukça nadir olup; Dijital rektal muayenesi normal olan ve prostat spesifik antijen düzeyi normal saptanan hastalarda metastaz olabilme ihtimalinin dışlanamayacağını akılda tutmak gerekir.

Laparoscopic procedures are being performed in infants and children much more frequently. Nevertheless, there is anxiety about complications resulting from port insertion due to the smaller abdominal cavity in children. Most complications are related to the entry of the first port. In this study, we present our patients who underwent laparoscopy using our modified Veress needle technique. The hospital records of the patients who underwent laparoscopy between 2010 and 2015 were evaluated retrospectively regarding intraoperative and postoperative complications. In all patients, the first port was inserted using our modified Veress needle technique. Laparoscopic procedures were performed on 139 patients. There were no major intraoperative or postoperative complications such as visceral or vascular injury in our patients. Only 5 (3.5%) minor complications were determined intraoperatively. Minor intraoperative complications included port dislocation (n = 2), intra-abdominal gas leakage (n = 1), subcutaneous emphysema (n = 1), and abdominal wall bleeding (n = 1). There were no minor complications postoperatively. In our technique, the umbilicus is pulled upwards strongly, reducing the risk of intra-abdominal injury.

This study aims to examine the prospective teachers’ views on democracy, democracy in schools and democratic teacher behaviors. The research was conducted with a basic qualitative research method. The study group consists of 48 junior-level teacher candidates studying in Social Studies Education undergraduate program at a state university in Turkey’s western Black Sea. 27 of the teacher candidates in the study group are female and 21 are male. According to pre-service teachers’ views on democracy, the basic rights of democracy, including universal values such as equality, justice, seeking rights and free-thinking; self-governance, participation in administration, a method of decision-making, the most humane management for society, a necessity for the whole community; It includes social values such as taking individual differences into consideration, giving importance to the thoughts of others and showing holistic attitudes. On the other hand, behaviors related to the democratic values that the teachers should exhibit are equal approach to the students, to be fair, to be impartial, to receive the ideas and thoughts of the students, to give the students the right to select and to be elected, to be free, unbiased, respectful, positive, modest, prejudice, humanistic, not to be self-centred value. Teacher behaviors related to the classroom are teacher’s interaction with all students while managing the classroom, the common rules of the class, such as listening to students are behaviors. The fact that democracy gained to students in schools acquires universal values such as equality, seeking rights, being fair, independent and free, social justice, tolerance and respect; It has been concluded that it provides values that include some democratic citizen behaviors such as being able to make joint decisions, taking their own decisions, being involved in management and being self-confident and providing efficiency, competition, freedom and a healthy environment in education and training, Bu araştırmanın amacı, öğretmen adaylarının demokrasi, okullarda demokrasi ve demokratik öğretmen davranışlarına ilişkin görüşlerini incelemektir. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemi ile gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın örneklemini Türkiye’nin Batı Karadeniz bölgesindeki bir devlet üniversitesinin Sosyal Bilgiler Öğretmenliği lisans programında öğrenim gören ve amaçlı örneklem yöntemlerinden kolay ulaşılabilir örneklem yöntemi ile seçilmiş 48 öğretmen adayı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışma grubunda yer alan öğretmen adaylarının 27’si kadın, 21’i erkektir. Öğretmen adaylarının demokrasiye ilişkin görüşlerine göre demokrasi eşitlik, adalet, hak arama ve özgür düşünce gibi evrensel değerlerden oluşan temel hakları; kendi kendini yönetme, yönetime dahil olma, bir karar alma yöntemi, toplum için en insancıl yönetim, tüm toplum için bir gereklilik şeklinde bir yönetim biçimini; bireysel farklılıkları dikkate alma, başkalarının düşüncelerine önem verme ve bütüncül tutum sergileme gibi toplumsal değerleri kapsamaktadır. Öğretmenlerin sergilemesi gereken demokratik davranışlar ise öğrencilere eşit yaklaşımı, adil davranması, tarafsız olması gibi birtakım temel evrensel değerlerle davranışlardır. Sınıf ile ilgili öğretmen davranışları öğretmenin sınıfı yönetirken tüm öğrencilerle etkileşim kurması, sınıf kurallarını ortak oluşturması, öğrencileri dinlemesi gibi davranışlardır. Okullarda öğrencilere kazandırılan demokrasi olgusunun bireye eşitlik, hak arama, adil olma, bağımsız ve özgür olma, sosyal adalet, hoşgörü ve saygı gibi evrensel değerleri edindirdiği; ortak karar alabilme, kendi kararını alabilme, yönetime dahil olabilme ve özgüvenli olabilme gibi birtakım demokratik vatandaş davranışları içeren değerleri kazandırdığı ve eğitim-öğretimde verimlilik, rekabet, özgürlükçü ve sağlık bir ortam sağladığı sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Saygılı, olumlu, mütevazi, önyargısız, hümanist olmak gibi davranışlar ise öğretmenin kişiliği ile davranışlar arasındadır.

The purpose of the present study was to explore the relationship between paternalistic leadership and the level of classroom teachers ostracism. The participants for this study consisted of 101 classroom teachers at primary schools located in Bartın. Data in this study were collected by using paternalistic leadership scale developed by Aycan, Schyns, Sun, Felfe & Saher (2013), and the level of classroom teachers’ ostracism were assessed with using the the Workplace Ostracism Scale developed by Ferris et al. (2008) and was adapted in Turkish Language by Çelik ve Koşar (2015). Mean, standard deviation, correlation and regression test were used in analysis of data. The correlation analysis shows that paternalistic leadership has significantly negatively correlation with the level of teachers’ ostracism. The results of regression analysis indicated that paternalistic leadership was a significant predictor for teachers’ ostracism.

Araştırmanın amacı, ilkokul ve ortaokul öğretmenlerinin örgütsel dışlanma ve örgütsel uyum algıları arasında anlamlı bir ilişkinin olup olmadığını ortaya koymaktır. Bartın kent merkezinde yer alan 11’i ilkokul, 10’u ortaokul olmak üzere toplam 21 okula ulaşılmıştır. Araştırmanın örneklemi uygun örnekleme yöntemi ile ulaşılan 237 öğretmen oluşturmaktadır. Bu araştırma, tarama modelindedir. Tarama modeli nicel araştırma yöntemlerinden biridir. Tarama modeli var olan durumu olduğu gibi belirlemeye çalışan bir yöntemdir. Araştırmada ilkokul ve ortaokul öğretmenlerinin örgütsel dışlanma ve örgütsel uyum algıları arasındaki ilişki araştırıldığı için ilişkisel tarama modeli kullanılmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre; ilkokul öğretmenlerinin örgütsel dışlanma algılarının “çok düşük” düzeyde olduğu; örgütsel uyum düzeylerinin “yüksek” olduğu belirlenmiştir. Araştırma sonucunda ortaokul öğretmenlerinin örgütsel dışlanma algılarının “çok düşük” düzeyde olduğu; örgütsel uyum düzeylerinin “yüksek” olduğu belirlenmiştir. Objective: In this study, level of knowledge about sexually transmitted diseases (STDs), number of partners, condom use data of male military staff applying to our outpatient clinic for periodic examination and effect of their sociodemographic variables on these data were invastigated. Material and Methods: Between June 2018 and December 2018, 1107 volunteers of 2314 male military staff which had no history of urological diseases and no complaint but applying to our outpatient clinic for periodic examination were included. A personel identifier information survey and knowledge test for sexually transmitted diseases validated to Turkish from 40 item STI/HIV Pretest were performed as face to face interview method to participants. Results: Study group consisted between 19-42 aged males and mean age was 24.8±7.08. %93.5 of participants was 20-29 aged group, %76.5 was graduated from a university, %86 was single. %98.5 of participants reported having knowledge of STDs. Although all of our study group was in sexually active age, approximately %54 of them had no sexual intercourse in last year. Only %42.2 of this group used condom for prevention from STDs. When correlation between number of partners and condom use was considered, a statistically significant correlation was found between the increase in the number of partners and the decrease in the frequency of condom use (r=0.65; p=0.0001). Maximum right answer was 36 in knowledge test for STDs, in this study mean right answer was 18.97 (0-35)±6.73 and it was found significantly higher in participants graduated from a university. Conclusion: It is seen that male military staff which is high risk group about STDs have no enough level of knowledge about prevention methods from STDs and treatment of STDs. Especially in this group, preventive health care can be more important than therapeutic health care. We believe that creating and applying of a sexual health education plan in coordination with the Ministry of Health and physicians will be extremely efficient.

The aim of this study is to determine the perceptions of academic staff on leaders and leadership by means of metaphors. The model of the research is in phenomenological model. This model is used in the investigation of cases that are not known but have a deep and detailed viewpoint. In order to investigate the phenomena that are not completely alien to us, but also to investigate the facts that we cannot fully comprehend, the phenomenology model provides a suitable research base. The sample of the study consists of 29 academicians of faculty of education at a university in the region of Western Black Sea in Turkey, selected by purposive sampling method of sampling. In order to collect the data of the research and to determine the opinions of the academic staff about leader and leadership concepts via metaphors, an interview form was formed by the researchers. The data obtained from the research were analyzed by content analysis method. When the metaphors related to the leader concept are examined, objects or tools that have a useful feature such as scales, train tracks, rulers, sun and stars are used in the categories of vehicle / object and leader personality. In the category of leading personality, Atatürk and Dede Korkut were used as an analogy to the historical figures such as Atatürk and Dede Korkut, who have been influential in their own times, who have managed their societies with their skills and have guided their masses, and pioneered professions due to the nature of the work performed. Looking at the metaphors produced regarding the concept of leadership; it has been seen that analogies were made in the categories of leadership / direction, protection and innovation / creativity. In the leadership / direction showing category, it is seen that there are objects that show direction to people like the lighthouse, the northern star, and the exit door, which are helpful and difficult. When we look at the metaphors produced in the category of guardianship, it is seen that the metaphors are generally reactionary to external threats and their attacks are spraying. When the metaphors produced in the category of innovation / creativity are examined, it is emphasized the important roles of leadership such as revelations, innovation and exchange.

Kitap, Kur’an Araştırmaları Vakfının 21-22 nisan 2018 tarihlerinde Bursa’da düzenlemiş olduğu uluslararası faiz çalıştayında sunulan tebliğlerin ve müzakerelerin bir araya getirilmesiyle teşekkül etmiştir. Günümüzde paranın, ticari faaliyetlerde bir bedel olmanın ötesinde hükmedici bir güç halini aldığını düşündüğümüzde faizle ilgili yapılan çalışmaların önemi daha iyi anlaşılmaktadır. Konuyla ilgili onlarca çalışma içerisinde kitabın önemi; hukukçulardan, ilahiyatçılardan ve iktisatçılardan oluşan katılımcıların faizi geniş kapsamlı bir şekilde ele almış olmalarıdır. Bunun kitaba faiz konusunda bir başucu kitabı olma niteliğini kazandırdığını söylediğimizde mübalağa etmiş olmayız. İlahiyat, hukuk veya iktisat alanında lisans eğitimi almış ya da almakta olanlar ve özel olarak faiz konusuna ilgi duyanlar; kitabın hedef kitlesini teşkil etmektedir. Kitabın pek çok yazarın ortak katkısıyla meydana geldiğini göz önünde bulundurduğumuzda kitapta kullanılan dil ve üslupla ilgili bir değerlendirmede bulunmanın güçlüğü daha kolay anlaşılır. Yine de genel bir değerlendirmede bulunmak gerekirse akıcı ve anlaşılır bir üslubun kitaba hakim olduğunu söylemek mümkündür. Zaman zaman tebliğ metninde kapalı kalan noktalar, müzakerelerde ve tebliğ sahibine yöneltilen sorular ve alınan cevaplar ile açıklık kazanmaktadır.

Bu araştırmanın amacı hayat Bilgisi dersi öğretim programının öğretmen görüşlerine göre değerlendirilmesidir. Araştırma nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden fenomonoloji yöntemiyle gerçekleştirilmiştir. Araştırmanın çalışma grubunu Yozgat Merkez, Yozgat Sorgun ve Sorgun Esenli Kasabasında görev yapmakta olan 32 sınıf öğretmeni oluşturmaktadır. Veri toplama aracı olarak yarı yapılandırılmış görüşme tekniği kullanılmıştır. Ulaşılan veriler içerik analizine tabi tutulmuştur. Elde edilen bulgulara dayalı veriler kategorize edilerek çizelgelerde belirtilmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğretmenler; ağırlıklı olarak hayat bilgisi dersi öğretim programındaki kazanımları hayata uyarlanabildiğini belirtmişlerdir. Çevresel şartların, ailesel şartların ve bireysel şartların bu kazanımların uygulanmasında zorluk oluşturabildiğini, bazı kavramların soyut kaldığını, bazı kazanımların ise sınıf seviyesinin üstünde olduğunu belirtmişlerdir. Konuların fazla sürelerin ise az olduğu bazı öğretmenler tarafından vurgulanmasına rağmen çoğunluk süreleri yeterli görmektedir. Ders ve çalışma kitaplarının daha nitelikli olması gerektiği üzerinde duran öğretmenler materyallerinin yeterli olmadığını bildirmişlerdir. Öğretmenlerin çoğu ölçme ve değerlendirmede soru-cevap, gözlem formları ve sınıf içi ve dışı etkinlikleri baz almaktadır. Bunların yanında test, boşluk doldurma, doğru-yanlış, eşleştirme ve açık uçlu soruları kullanmaktadırlar. Öğretmenler genel olarak standart ölçme ve değerlendirme yöntemlerini kullanmaktadırlar. Atatürkçülük konularının yeterliliği konusunda çoğunluk yeterli bulmakla birlikte Atatürk'ün hayatının yanında milli duyguları yansıtacak konuların işlenmesi ve Atatürkçülükle ilişkilendirilmesi gerektiği belirtilmiştir. Öğretmenler programa katkı amaçlı olarak programın günlük yaşam ile daha ilişkili olması gerektiğini belirtmişlerdir. Ders kitaplarının görsellerinin ve etkinliklerinin daha iyi olması gerektiğini belirtmişlerdir. Programın daha esnek olması gerektiğini belirtmişlerdir. Araştırma sonuçları kapsamında önerilerde bulunulmuştur.

Primer mesane endometriozisi nadirdir ve sebebi tam olarak bilinememektedir. Bu makalede primer mesane endometriozisi nedeniyle transüretral rezeksiyon uygulanmış 37 yaşındaki bir bayan hastayı sunuyoruz. Hastanın başvuru şikâyetleri 4 aydır menstrüel siklusla ilişkili hematüri, disüri ve pollaküriydi. Kliniğimizde yapılan sistoskopik ve radyolojik değerlendirme sonrasında kitlenin transüretral olarak rezeksiyonuna karar verildi. Operasyonda 23*21 mm’lik solid kitle eksize edildi. Hastanın sistoskopi ile yapılan postoperatif izleminde 6. aya dek nüks izlenmedi., Primary bladder endometriosis is rare and the cause is not fully known. In this article, we present a 37-year-old female patient who underwent transurethral resection for primary bladder endometriosis. The patient’s complaints were hematuria, dysuria and pollakuria associated with menstrual cycle for 4 months. After cystoscopic and radiological evaluation in our clinic, transurethral resection of the mass was decided. A 23*21 mm diameter solid bladder mass was excised by transurethral resection. In the postoperative follow-up of the patient by cystoscopy, no recurrence was observed until 6 months.
