Romanların en fazla sayıda yaşadığı 12 ilde TÜBİTAK destekli olarak yürütülen bir projenin verilerine dayanılarak hazırlanan bu çalışma Türkiye’deki Romanlarda evlilik pratiklerini incelemektedir. Araştırmada, Romanlarda evlilik biçimi, küçük yaşta evlilik, akraba evliliği, başlık parası ve tek eşlilik gibi konular ele alınmaktadır. Araştırma bulgularına göre erken yaşta evlilik, kaçma-kaçırmak yoluyla evlilik ve iç grup evliliği Türkiye’deki tüm Roman topluluklarında görülen ortak sosyolojik olgulardır. Bununla birlikte, başlık parası ve akraba evliliği gibi uygulamalar ise bazı illerdeki Romanlar arasında daha yaygındır. Romanlarda yaygın olan evliliğe ilişkin pratikler, tutumlar ve değerler, bir yandan Roman kültürünün yaşatılmasına hizmet ederken, bir yandan da Romanların kendi içinde kapalı bir topluluk şeklinde yaşamasına yol açmaktadır., Based on the data of a project supported by the TÜBİTAK (Turkish Scientific and Technological Research Council) and conducted in 12 cities of Turkey, this study investigates marriage practices of Roma communities. In the research, issues such as marriage type, child bride, kin marriages, bride price and monogamy are analyzed. According to the findings of the research, marriage at an early age, endogamous marriages, and bride kidnapping are common sociological problems seen in all Roma communities living in different cities of Turkey. However, practices such as bride price and kin marriages are relatively more common among Roma in some provinces. Practices, attitudes and values related to marriage not only serve to sustain the Romani culture, but also lead them to live as a closed community within themselves.

Bu çalışmada, politik kimliklerin dış politikayı etkilediği varsayımı kabul edilmektedir. Bu varsayım çerçevesinde, Kemalist ve liberal-muhafazakâr politik kimliklerin, Türk dış politikasını (TDP) kendi dünya tasavvurları çerçevesinde etkiledikleri iddia edilmektedir. Bu iddiayı desteklemek için sosyal inşacılık, çalışmanın temel kuramı olarak seçilmiştir. Sosyal inşacılar; normların, ideolojilerin, kimliklerin ve fikirlerin oluşturduğu soyut unsurların dış politikayı şekillendirdiğini iddia ederler. Böylece sosyal inşacılar, soyut alanı hem anlamaya çalışır hem de dış politika analizlerinde kullanırlar. Bu çalışmada yorumsamacı (hermeneutik) metodoloji kullanılarak Kemalist ve liberal-muhafazakâr kimliklerin benlik tanımları, dış politikadaki öteki algıları ve uluslararası yapının hangi kültürüne yakın oldukları tespit edilmeye çalışılmıştır. Kemalist kimliği, CHP ve ordu sahiplenirken liberal-muhafazakâr eklemlenmeyi, ANAP ve AK Parti sahiplenmiştir. Kemalist kimlik, dış politikada emperyalist söyleme sahip Batılı devletleri genelde nötr öteki ve bazen de uzak öteki olarak tanımlamıştır. Komünist Rusya ve Orta Doğu ülkelerini kendine uzak öteki olarak görmüştür. Sovyetler sonrası Rusya’ya karşı nötr davranmıştır. Liberal-muhafazakâr kimlik, Batılı ve Orta Doğu devletlerini kendine yakın görürken Komünist Rusya’yı kendine uzak öteki olarak görmüştür. Sovyetler sonrası Rusya’ya karşı nötr davranmıştır. Kemalist ve muhafazakâr liberal politik kimliklerin uluslararası yapının ortaya çıkardığı kültürlerle uyumu tartışılırken Alexander Wendt’in “üç anarşi kültürü” kullanılmıştır. Kemalist kimlik, dış politikayı yönettiği zamanlarda uluslararası yapıyla uyum içinde çalışmıştır. Kemalistler, Lockecu kültüre sahip olmakla birlikte Kantçı kültüre askerî temelde yönelmişlerdir. Benzer şekilde liberal-muhafazakâr kimlik de dış politikayı yönettiği zamanlarda uluslararası yapıyla uyum içinde olmuştur. Liberal-muhafazakârların Kemalistlerden farkı, Lockecu kültüre yakın olmakla birlikte Kantçı kültüre hem askerî hem siyasi hem de iktisadi boyutta yönelişleridir. In this study, it is argued that political identities affect foreign policy. In the framework of this assumption, it is the argument of the study that the Kemalist and liberal-conservative syntheses political identities influenced Turkish foreign policy within the context of their own world imagination. In order to support this argument, constructivism has been chosen as the basic theory of the study because of the fact that constructivists claim that norms, ideologies, identities and ideas shape foreign policy. In this way, they count in identities and ideas into the foreign policy analysis. Interpretative (hermeneutical) methodology has been used in the study. It has been tried to determine the definition of Kemalist and liberal-conservative identities self-perception, the definition of their other-perception, and which cultures of international structure they are near via interpretivist methodology. While CHP and the Turkish military have adopted Kemalist identity, ANAP and AKP have adopted liberal-conservative articulation. Kemalist identity on foreign policy is generally in neutral, and sometimes in distant against Western states having imperialist discourse. In addition, it had been in distant against communist Russia and Middle East states, but after the falling of communist Russia it has become in neutral against Russia. Liberal-conservative’s identity has been in close proximity to Western and Middle East states. Further it had been in distant communist Russia. However, it has been in neutral against Russia after the falling of Soviet. Alexander Wendt’s three anarchy cultures have been used in discussing with which cultures of international structure Kemalist and liberal-conservative political identities conform. Liberal-conservative has worked in harmony with the international structure at the time when they managed Turkish foreign policy like Kemalist. Although Kemalists have a Lockean culture, they are oriented towards Kantian culture on the military basis. Liberal-conservatives have differentiated from Kemalists, because liberal-conservative identity is oriented towards Kantian culture military, cultural and economic basis.

This study focuses on employment status and mobilization processes of women at 102 hospitals in 12 provinces of Turkey. The main question of the research is whether women face glass ceiling problem at hospitals, which are the locomotive stations of the healthcare sector. According to research findings based on institutional analysis, questionnaires and in-depth interviews, there is an obvious glass ceiling problem at hospitals. Although the proportion of women working at hospitals is higher than that of men, there are more men at administrative level than women. In this respect, no significant difference has been found between private hospitals and public hospitals. In both sectors, women clearly fall behind men regarding mobilization processes. This is due to working conditions and social relations within hospitals as well as personal preferences.

Based on discourse analysis of journals published by Kurdish feminists, this article analyzes Kurdish feminist movements, which developed throughout the 1990s in Turkey. It goes on to indicate how Kurdish feminism represents an example of a third-wave women's movement within the Turkish context, emphasizing the dual oppression against women, namely for gender and ethnicity. Focusing on the contextual background of women's oppression, this study draws attention to the exclusion of some women from a general and essentialist understanding of women and to the possibility of an ethnic feminism as a way of alternative self-existence for those who are oppressed on grounds other than gender.
