Birleşik elektrokoagülasyon ve elektro-oksidasyon prosesiyle atık su arıtımı monopolar ve bipolar elektrot malzemesi, akım şiddeti, arıtım süresi, pH ve elektriksel iletkenlik gibi pek çok faktörden etkilenmektedir. Literatürde yayınlanan çalışmalarda optimizasyon uygulamaları, faktörlerin başlangıç değerleri ayarlanarak gerçekleştirilmiştir. Birleşik elektrokoagülasyon ve elektro-oksidasyon prosesinin işletme parametrelerinin zamanla değiştiği göz önünde bulundurulduğunda bu durum yanıltıcı sonuçlar ortaya çıkarmaktadır. Bu amaçla, yapılan çalışmada işletme parametreleri olan sıcaklığın PID, elektriksel iletkenlik ve pH'sin ise adaptif PID kontrolleri gerçekleştirilmiştir. İşletme parametrelerinin kontrol edildiği durumda kağıt endüstrisi atık suyu ve evsel atık su arıtımı gerçekleştirilecek sistemler için 4 faktör 3 seviyeden oluşan BBT uygulanmıştır. KOİ ve renk giderimleri ile enerji tüketiminin cevap olarak alındığı CYY çalışmasında en yüksek kirletici giderimleri ve en düşük enerji tüketimi hedefine erişmek amacıyla deneysel tasarımı yapılan 4 faktör olan elektriksel iletkenlik, pH, akım şiddeti ve arıtım süresinin en uygun değerleri, çoklu regresyon ile elde edilen matematiksel modeller kullanılarak sırasıyla, kağıt endüstrisi atık suyu arıtımı için 5.53 mS/cm, 7.95, 2.51 A ve 55 dakika olarak, evsel atık su için ise 7 mS/cm, 5.74, 2.95 A ve 70 dakika olarak elde edilmiştir. En uygun işletme koşullarında gerçekleştirilen çalışmada kontrollü durumda KOİ, renk, bulanıklık, AKM giderimleri ve enerji tüketimi sırasıyla kağıt endüstrisi atık suyu için % 100, % 98.92, % 99.94, % 99.75 ve 47.86 kWh/m3 olarak, evsel atık su için ise % 70.92, % 100, % 99.08, % 96.78 ve 121.15 kWh/m3 olarak bulunmuştur. Geleneksel proses kontrol yöntemlerinin evsel ve endüstriyel atık suların birleşik elektrokoagülasyon ve elektro-oksidasyon prosesiyle arıtımına uygulanması ve kontrollü koşullarda CYY ile en uygun işletme parametrelerinin belirlenmesi literatürde ilk kez bu tez çalışmasında gerçekleştirilmiş, kontrollü koşullarda yapılan çalışmada kontrolün uygulanmadığı duruma göre kirletici giderimlerinde artış, enerji tüketiminde düşüş sağlanmıştır. Wastewater treatment by means of combined electrocoagulation and electro-oxidation processes is influenced by many factors such as monopolar and bipolar electrode material, current intensity, treatment time, pH and electrical conductivity. Optimization studies in literature were performed with adjustment of initial values of the factors. Considering the variations of operating parameters with time, these applications may reveal misleading results. In this study PID control of temperature and adaptive PID controls of electrical conductivity and pH were performed. BBDs consisting of 4 factors with 3 levels were applied to the systems where the pulp and paper mill and household wastewaters were treated under controlled conditions. In order to reach maximum pollutant removal and minimum energy consumption goal via RSM, optimum operating conditions of electrical conductivity, pH, current intensity and treatment time were obtained using mathematical models fitted with multiple regression for pulp and paper mill wastewater as 5.53 mS/cm, 7.95, 2.51 A and 55 min, for household wastewater as 7 mS/cm, 5.74, 2.95 A and 70 min, respectively for COD and color removal efficiencies and energy consumption responses. COD, color, turbidity, TSS removal efficiencies and energy consumption were found as 100 %, 98.92 %, 99.94 %, 99.75 % and 47.86 kWh/m3 for pulp and paper mill wastewater and 70.92 %, 100 %, 99.08 %, 96.78 % and 121.15 kWh/m3 for household wastewater, respectively at optimum operation conditions under control. Application of conventional control methods to household and industrial wastewater treatments by means of combined electrocoagulation and electro-oxidation processes and determination of optimum operational parameters using RSM under controlled conditions were practised for the first time in the literature. With phase-plane analysis in Matlab, the relations between the bacterial indicators and dissolved oxygen (DO), pH and temperature, was examined by considering the dynamic during 20 September 2013 to 8 February 2014 for water quality monitoring in enclosed coastal waters at the edge of the Kas region of Turkey. It has been suggested that the bacterial indicator phase plane analysis provides a good method of monitoring. It was shown that temperature (significance value, p=4.9e-05), DO (p=1.0e-04) and pH (p=4.6e-04) values have a significant effect on bacterial indicators. The relationship between the bacterial indicators was examined by comparing the same scale "cusp" diagrams, and it was demonstrated that total coliforms concentration were closely related with faecal coliforms (FC) concentration. In presenting the enclosed coastal water quality information, weighting average water quality index (WQIMP) has been used by selecting the sets of appropriate parameters. To keep track of and analyse changes over time by calculating the index numbers, the set of seven variables which are FC, DO, pH, temperature, turbidity, nitrate, total suspended solids and the set of three variables which are FC, temperature, DO were utilized successfully (p=8.3e-05). Parameter quality values were obtained from the software developed using cubic hermite polynomial in Matlab.

In recent years, it is aimed to reuse wastewater to form an economical input and to manage it sustainably without threatening human life and ecosystem. High pollutant removal yield from wastewaters was achieved using electrocoagulation method without adding any chemical coagulant or flocculants, thus reducing the amount of sludge. However, electrocoagulation (EC) is an inefficient method for the removal of stable and dissolved organic pollutants. Electrooxidation (EOx), which was evaluated as one of the most promising technologies for the treatment of wastewater containing soluble organic compounds, can directly and indirectly oxidize small organic pollutants. Although electrooxidation provides full mineralization of the organic matter, if suspended solids are present, energy consumption is increased. Since EC is a fast but incomplete process and EOx is a complete but slow process, combining the two processes offers a practical hybrid. In this chapter, mechanisms and applications of EC, EOx, and their combinations will be widely discussed.

Bu çalışmada oksijensiz koşullarda patates besi ortamından Clostridium butyricum mikroorganizması kullanılarak biyohidrojen üretilen kesikli bir biyoreaktörde pH'ın dinamik analizi ve kontrolu gerçekleştirilmiştir.Biyoreaktörde maksimum mikroorganizma çoğalması ve ürün üretimini sağlamak için pH, sıcaklık, DO, karıştırma hızı ve substrat derişimi gibi parametrelerin optimum değerlerinde işletilmesi gerekmektedir. Biyohidrojen üretim prosesinde kontrol edilmesi gereken en önemli parametrelerden biri pH'dır. Proses süresince hidrojen üretimiyle birlikte asetik asit ve bütirik asit de oluşmaktadır ve bu organik asitlerden dolayı ortamın pH'ının yaklaşık 1.5 birim azaldığı deneysel çalışmalarla belirlenmiştir. pH'ın optimum değerinin altına düşmesi biyohidrojen üretiminde önemli rol oynayan hidrojenaz enziminin aktivitesinde azalmaya sebep olarak hidrojen üretiminin durmasına sebep olmaktadır. Bu nedenle, çalışmada biyohidrojen üretimini maksimum değerde sürdürmek üzere baz akış hızı ayarlanarak pH kontrolu gerçekleştirilmiştir.Kontrol çalışmalarından önce kesikli tepkime kaplarında başlangıç substrat derişimi, karıştırma hızı, ölçek büyütme oranı parametrelerinin biyohidrojen üretimine etkisi incelenmiş ve en uygun parametreler sırasıyla hacimce %20'lik patates ortamı, havalı çalkalamalı inkübatörde 200 devir/dakika karıştırma hızı ve ölçek büyütme oranı 1:100 olarak bulunmuştur. Kontrol çalışmalarında kullanılacak olan 7 L çalışma hacmine sahip biyoreaktörün dinamik davranışı incelenmiş ve sistem tanımlama yöntemi ile biyoreaktörü en iyi tanımlayan model elde edilmiştir. Sistem tanımlama ve kontrol algoritmasında model olarak Auto Regressive Moving Average with eXogenous (ARMAX) kullanılmıştır. ARMAX model parametreleri Yinelemeli En Küçük Kareler Metodu (YEKK) kullanılarak hesaplanmıştır. Elde edilen model parametrelerinin yer aldığı MATLAB dilinde yazılan PID, Adaptif İçsel Model Kontrol (AIMC) ve Genelleştirilmiş Minimum Varyans (GMV) kontrol algoritmaları kullanılarak pH kontrolü hem sabit set noktasında hem de farklı set noktası değişimlerinde hem teorik hem de deneysel olarak başarıyla gerçekleştirilmiş ve pH kontrolu üretim vermini önemli ölçüde arttırmıştır. In this work, dynamic analysis and control of pH value of a batch bioreactor in which biohydrogen was produced from potato medium using Clostridium butyricum microorganism under anaerobic conditions was performed.In order to reach the maximum growth rate and production amount in the bioreactor, the process should be operated at the optimum values of the parameters like pH, temprature, dissolved oxygen concentration, mixing rate and substrate concentration. In baker?s yeast production the most important controlled parameter is pH. During the process, because of the acetic and butyric acid production besides the hydrogen production, the medium pH value decreases by showing 1.5 difference. Low pH values causes inactivation of the hydrogenase enzyme, which has an important role for hydrogen production and stops the production as well.Because of this fact, pH and base flow rate were selected as controlled variable and manipulated variable respectively.Before the control applications, effects of initial substrate concentration, stirring speed, and inoculation ratio on biohydrogen production was investigated in batch bioreactors and optimum parameters were found as 20%(v/v) potato concentration which was maintained by squeezing 400 g potato per liter medium, 200 rpm stirring speed in a shaking incubator and 1:100 inoculation ratio respectively. Dynamic behaviour of the bioreactor used in control applications which has 7L of working volume was analised and by system identification method the best model that determines the bioreactor was obtained. Auto Regressive Moving Average with eXogenous (ARMAX) was used as bioreactor model in system identification and control algorithm. In this study ARMAX Model parameters were evaluated by Recursive Least Square Method (RLSM). Model parameters obtained, is used in PID, Adaptive Internal Model Control (AIMC) and Generalised Minimum Variance Control algorithms which was written in MATLAB and both theoretical and experimental control of pH was performed succesfully for both constant set point and different set point variances and production efficiency of biohydrogen is increased significantly. 172
