Covid-19 pek çok alanda olduğu gibi, öğretmen yetiştiren programlarda da büyük değişiklikler yapılamasını gerekli kıldı. Bu araştırma, pandemi döneminde hizmet öncesi İngilizce öğretmenlerinin, Öğretmenlik Uygulaması dersi kapsamında ilk ve ortaöğretim okullarında sürdürdükleri sınıf içi uygulamaları üç ana başlık altında incelemektedir. Katılımcı grubunu İstanbul’da bir devlet üniversitesinde İngilizce Öğretmenliği programında eğitimine devam eden 15 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Katılımcıların öz-yansıtma, akran değerlendirmesi ve öğretim felsefesi (önce ve sonra) raporları fenomenolojik analiz yöntemiyle incelenmiştir. Değerlendirme sonuçları hizmet öncesi İngilizce öğretmenlerinin ağırlıklı olarak planlama ve uygulama aşamalarında endişe yaşadığını göstermiştir. Ayrıca, çevrimiçi derslerin temellerinin geleneksel İngilizce sınıflarından tamamen farklı olduğu görülmüştür. Kısaca, Covid-19 pandemisi nedeniyle zorunlu olarak yaşanan değişiklikler, İngilizce öğretmeni yetiştiren programların uygulama ve içerik konusunda çeşitli dönüşümlere ve yeniliklere ihtiyaç duyduğunu ortaya konmuştur., Similar to various fields of scientific inquiry, teacher education has gone through dramatic changes during Covid-19 pandemic. The aim of the current study is to investigate its effects on pre-service English as a Foreign Language (EFL) teachers’ in-class practices via three different instruments. Participants were 15 pre-service EFL teachers at a state university in Istanbul. Data collection tools involved the participants’ reflections both on their own and their peers’ online teaching experiences in Teaching Philosophy (as in pre and post design), Self-Observation and Peer Evaluation. Phenomenological Analysis of data revealed that they were predominantly concerned with planning and implementation phases of their teaching. Furthermore, the study demonstrated that the basics of online EFL teaching are fundamentally different from traditional EFL classes. In brief, pre-service EFL teacher education calls for further modifications in accordance with the changes in teaching medium initiated by Covid-19 pandemic.

Recently data is becoming a key component in everything, and language studies are no exception. In order to gather language data, many linguists rely on corpus studies, which provides important language examples from real life usage. This data is also important for lexicographical studies, in other terms dictionary studies, for revealing the patterns of vocabulary in that language. Among these patterns is the frequency value of a word. Frequency is defined as “the value that shows how frequently a word is cited in the corpus” (Y. Aksan, Mersinli, & Yaldır, 2011, p. 397). For such purposes frequency dictionaries are compiled, e.g.,"Frequency Dictionary of Turkish: Core Vocabulary for Learners" (Y. Aksan, Aksan, Mersinli, & Demirhan, 2017) and “A frequency dictionary of contemporary American English: word sketches, collocates, and thematic lists” (Davies & Gardner 2010). The former frequency dictionary is one of the outputs of Turkish National Corpus (TUD) (Y. Aksan et al., 2012) and the latter is based on COCA (Corpus of Contemporary English) (Davies, 2008). These dictionaries help language learners to find out which words are the most frequently used in that specific language based on corpus data. In addition to specific frequency dictionaries, it would be beneficial for language learners if general dictionaries should include frequency data. Considering the studies conducted in languages with a large number of speakers, such as English, it is seen that frequency values are commonly used in both general dictionaries and pedagogical dictionaries, albeit in different ways. General corpus data (Faaß, 2017), which has been used in dictionaries since the 1960s, manifests itself in the form of sharing frequency data with dictionary users, such as Longman and Collins learner dictionaries, beginning from the 1990s (Kilgarriff, 1997). Using of frequency values as an auxiliary element in the general dictionaries will provide positive benefits for language learners, especially when there is no learners’ dictionary in that specific language. In this study, how the frequency values obtained from the corpus data are used will be discussed by showing examples from both Turkish and English. This data is invaluable for language learners from the fact that according to Zipf’s Law and Pareto Distribution, most frequently used words play an important role in understanding the language with a limited number of words. Therefore, language learners should focus on studying most frequently used words in the target language in order to gain momentum.

Bu çalışmada Türkçe Sözlük’ün(1998)maddebaşı belirleme ve belirlenen maddeleri tanımlamak için kullanılan strateji ya da stratejiler gözden geçirilecek ve bu stratejilerden kaynaklı maddebaşlarının sergileyebileceği anlık oluşumlar incelenecektir. Çalışmada, sözcük türetim süreci kısaca ele alınacak ve Türkçenin en sık türetim yapan ilk on ekiyle türetilmiş sözcükleri üzerinden Türkçe Sözlük’te (TS) yer alan maddelerde anlık oluşum sergilenip sergilenmediği sayısal olarak ve örneklerle gösterilmeye çalışılacaktır. Bu bağlamda, maddebaşlarındaki tanımlamalarda kullanılan stratejilerin maddenin anlık oluşum sergilemesine bir katkı sağlayıp sağlamadığı irdelenmeye çalışılacaktır. Bu veriler ışığında, Türkçe Sözlük’te hem maddebaşı seçimi için kullanılan stratejiler hem de madde tanımında kullanılan yapılar “anlık oluşum”yaklaşımı temelinde incelenecektir.

In newly established fields of science, unity in the terms provides a great benefit. This benefit is not necessarily restricted to the unity itself. In addition to that, this unity acts a basis for the upcoming works in the field and also contributes to the continuity of the field. Since dictionary research is a relatively new field of study, differences in terms could be observed. The aims of this article is focus on the different usages of terms used in dictionary research studies in specific terms such as lexicography and lexicology, and offer recommendations to establish unity in terms used in dictionary research.

Çalışmanın amacı, kronik bel ağrısı tanısı almış sağlık çalışanlarında, kayropraktik manipülasyon ve mulligan mobilizasyon tekniği yöntemlerinin ağrı ve fonksiyonellik üzerine etkinliğini karşılaştırmaktır.Kronik bel ağrısı tanısı konmuş, 20-50 yaşları arasındaki (Mulligan grubu 27.70± 6.57, Kayropraktik grubu 31.15 ± 8.15) 40 gönüllü bireyler çalışmaya dahil edilmiştir. Tüm olgular antropometrik olarak değerlendirildikten sonra randomize olarak Kayropraktik Manipülasyon Grubu (KMG) (n:20; 11 kadın, 9 erkek) ve Mulligan Mobilizasyon Grubu (MMG) (n:20; 17 kadın, 3 erkek) olmak üzere 2 gruba ayrılmıştır. Tedavi öncesinde bütün tedavi grupları Numerik Ağrı Skalası (NAS), Oswerty Bel Ağrı Engelilik Anketi ve gonyometre ile kalça ve belin normal eklem hareketi değerlendirilmiştir. Haftada 2 kez olmak kaydıyla 4 hafta süresinde KMG'ye kayropraktik manipülasyon, MMG'ye ise mulligan mobilizasyon tekniği uygulanmıştır. Katılımcılara bu uygulamalar dışında ekstra hiçbir tedavi uygulanmamış olup herhangi ilave bir aktivite içinde bulunmamalarına özen gösterilmiştir.Tedavi öncesi ve sonrası olmak üzere 2 farklı zaman diliminde yapılan testlerle uygulamaların etkinlikleri karşılaştırılmıştır. Antropometrik ölçüm değerleri açısından gruplar arasında bir farklılık bulunmamıştır (p>0.05). Grup içi analiz sonuçlarında her iki grupta bütün değerlendirme parametrelerinde anlamlı farklılıklar bulunmuş olup olumlu yönde bir iyileşme görülmüştür (p0.05).Sonuç olarak kronik bel ağrısı tedavisinde kayropraktik manipülasyon ve mulligan mobilizasyon tekniği yöntemleri arasında başarılı sonuçlar açısından bir üstünlük bulunamamıştır. Kronik bel ağrılı hastalarda her iki yöntemin de uygun koşullara göre kullanımı kabul görülmektedir. The aim of this study was to compare the effectiveness of chiropractic manipulation and mulligan mobilization techniques on pain and functionality in health care workers diagnosed with chronic low back pain.Forty volunteers aged 20-50 years (Mulligan group 27.70 ± 6.57, chiropractic group 31.15 ± 8.15) who were diagnosed as chronic low back pain were included in the study. All cases were randomly divided into two groups as Chiropractic Manipulation Group (CMG) (n: 20; 11 females, 9 males) and Mulligan Mobilization Group (MMG) (n: 20; 17 females, 3 males). All treatment groups were evaluated with numerical pain scale (NPS), Oswerty low back pain disability questionnaire, and goniometer. Chiropractic manipulation was applied to CMG and mulligan mobilization technique was applied to MMG twice a week for 4 weeks. No extra treatment was given to the participants except these treatments and care was taken not to engage in any additional activities. The efficacy of the tests were compared with the tests performed before and after the treatment. There was no difference between the groups in terms of anthropometric measurements (p> 0.05). In-group analysis results showed significant differences in all evaluation parameters in both groups and showed a positive improvement (p 0.05).In conclusion, there was no superiority between chiropractic manipulation and mulligan mobilization techniques in terms of successful results in the treatment of chronic low back pain. The use of both methods according to appropriate conditions is accepted in patients with chronic low back pain. 96

Amaç: Öğrenci geri bildirimleri, öğrenme-öğretme süreci içerisinde ulaşılan seviyenin belirlenmesinde yaygın olarak kullanılan araştırma yöntemlerinden birisidir. Çalışmamızda, Tıp Fakültesi öğrencilerinin ilk defa ayrı bir ders olarak almış oldukları Klinik ve Kesitsel Anatomi dersi hakkındaki görüşlerinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışmamıza Tıp Fakültesi ikinci sınıfta öğrenim gören öğrenciler dâhil edilmiştir. Yüzyirmialtı öğrenciden 122’si (%96,8) çalışmaya katılmıştır. Öğrencilere 17 sorudan oluşan bir anket formu uygulanmıştır. Veriler, SPSS 22,0 paket programı ile analiz edilip yorumlanmıştır. Bulgular: Araştırmamıza katılan 122 öğrencinin %88,5’i Klinik ve Kesitsel Anatomi dersi ile ilgili öğrenci görüşlerinin alınmasının gerekli olduğunu söylemiştir. Öğrencilerin %67,2’si Klinik ve Kesitsel Anatomi dersinin ders programında 10:20 ile 12:00 saatleri arasında olması gerektiğini ifade etmiştir. Klinik ve Kesitsel Anatomi dersini öğrencilerin %62,3’ü zaman kaybı olarak görmediği vurgulamıştır. Öğrencilerin %81,1’i ders öncesinde çalışma notu verilmesini, %89,3’ü ise Klinik ve Kesitsel Anatomi dersinin meslek yaşamı için gerekli olduğunu belirtmiştir. Ayrıca öğrencilerin %91’i Klinik ve Kesitsel Anatomi derslerinin iyi öğrenilmesinde, dersi veren hocanın etkisinin olduğunu ifade etmiştir. Sonuç: Anatomi eğitiminin daha iyi öğrenilmesinde, öğrencilerden alınan geri bildirimlerin rolü oldukça önemlidir. Anatomi derslerinde öğrenilen bilgilerin kalıcı hale getirilmesinin ileride iyi hekimlerin yetişmesine katkı sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir., Objective: Students’ feedback is one of the research methods that is widely used in determining the reached level during the education. In our study, it was aimed to determine the views of the students of the faculty of medicine on the clinical and cross-sectional anatomy course. Material and Method: The second grade students of the faculty of medicine were included in the study. One hundred twenty two out of 126 students (96.8%) participated in the study. A questionnaire consisting of 17 questions was applied to the students. Collected data were evaluated using SPSS v22 software. Results: 88.5% of the participants stated the necessity of obtaining feedbacks about the clinical and cross-sectional anatomy courses (CCSACs). According to our results, 67.2% of the students stated that the CCSACs should be placed between 10:20 and 12:00 a.m. in the weekly course schedule. Furthermore, 62.3% of the students emphasized that the CCSACs were not time wasting. 81.1% of the students stated that the study notes should be given before the courses and 89.3% of the students indicated the necessity of the CCSAC for their professional life. In addition, 91% of the students stated that the quality of the education in the clinical and CCSAC is related with the lecturer. Conclusion: The role of students’ feedback is very important to improve the anatomy education. It is thought that the knowledge acquired in the anatomy courses will make a great contribution to the education of good physicians in the future.
