Purpose: To determine mental health literacy (MHL) levels of older adults and the predictive factors of MHL. Method: This cross-sectional study was conducted between October and December 2022, with 410 older adults aged ≥65 years. A Personal Information Form and the Mental Health Literacy Scale were used for data collection. Independent samples t test, analysis of variance, and multiple linear regression were used to analyze the data. Results: Significant predictors of MHL in older adults were being aged 65 to 69 years, being female, being a university graduate, having an income more than expenses, receiving information from a health professional, interest in mental health, having friends or family members with mental illness, and good perception of health. Conclusion: Older adults were found to have low levels of MHL. Mental health professionals should focus on community-based education and interventions to increase the MHL levels of older adults. Purpose: During the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic, health services offered to individuals diagnosed with mental disorders were interrupted, and use of alternative methods, such as telenursing, came to the forefront. Method: Sixty-four individuals with schizophrenia participated in the current randomized controlled trial that evaluated whether a telenursing intervention affected their drug attitudes, self-efficacy, and quality of life. Pretest, posttest, and follow-up measurements were obtained for experimental and control groups from May to August 2021. Data were collected via a Personal Information Form, Drug Attitude Inventory-10, Self-Efficacy Scale, and World Health Organization Quality of Life Questionnaire–Short Form. Results: Upon comparison of scores obtained by the experimental and control groups in pretest, posttest, and follow-up measurements, it was discerned that telenursing positively affected drug attitudes of participants in the experimental group and enhanced their quality of life. Although there was an increase in self-efficacy levels of the experimental group compared to the control group, the difference was not statistically significant. Conclusion: Telenursing is an effective intervention for the improvement of drug attitudes and quality of life but is not satisfactory for the improvement of self-efficacy in individuals with schizophrenia. Objectives: The aim of this study was to evaluate the validity and reliability of the Palliative Nursing Care Quality Scale (PNCQS) in nursing in Türkiye. Measurement tools are important in the evaluation of care quality. It is important to assess the quality of care provided by nurses to improve the well-being of palliative patients. Methods: This was a methodological study. This was conducted in Türkiye. The study sample included a total of 210 participants. Linguistic validity, content validity, item validity (item difficulty and discriminating index), and construct validity were tested for the validity of the scale. The reliability of the tool was evaluated by conducting internal consistency and a split-half-test analysis. Results: Internal consistency is high for all domains of the PNCQS (Cronbach's α ≥0.91). While the content validity index (CVI) for the items varies between 0.81 and 1.00, the CVI for the scale (Scale-CVI) is 0.92. As a result of confirmatory factor analysis, fit indices of the scale (χ²/df [2.136], GFI [0.85], adjusted good fit index [0.80], comparative fit index [0.91], normed fit index [0.85], Tucker-Lewis index [0.89], and root mean square error of approximation [0.075]). The physical, social, and psychological effects of Behcet's disease necessitate the person's adaptation in many areas. This study was conducted to examine the effect of psychoeducation provided to people living with Behcet's disease in the context of the Roy adaptation model on illness adjustment, dyadic adjustment, self-esteem, and psychiatric symptoms. The study was quasi-experimental. The study was with 70 patients with Behcet's disease: 35 patients were in the intervention group and the same number in the control group. The data of the study were collected using the Adaptation to Chronic Illness Scale, Dyadic Adjustment Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, and Brief Symptom Inventory. A seven-session psychoeducation program was provided to the intervention group. After the psychoeducation program, adaptation to illness increased significantly and psychiatric symptoms decreased significantly in the intervention group compared with the control group (P <.05). COVID-19 infection usually causes mild symptoms in children. Mortality and morbidity of the disease have decreased with the widespread use of vaccines. COVID-19 vaccines are generally known to protect against the disease and its complications. In this case report, a thirteen-year-old patient who came to the pediatric emergency department with chest pain, received two doses of BNT162b2 (Pfizer-Biontech), and was diagnosed with acute COVID-19-associated myocarditis is presented. With this case, it was emphasized that it may be necessary to make vaccination reminder doses at shorter intervals in order to evaluate those with chronic diseases separately from healthy children and to maintain effective protection against COVID-19. Aim: This study aims to investigate the effect of eye mask and earplug applications on sleep quality in patients hospitalized in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit. Material and Methods: The study was conducted between November 2018 and March 2019 and is a randomized controlled trial designed in a pretest-posttest model. Power analysis was performed to determine the number of participants. With power analysis, 30 patients were assigned to the experimental group and 30 to the control group. Therefore, the study was carried out with 60 patients. Patient Information Form and Richards-Campbell Sleep Scale were used in the data collection. Independent sample t-test, Mann Whitney U test, and paired t-test were used for analysis. Results: The experimental group's mean pre-test sleep quality score was 197.83±113.614, and the mean post-test score was 385.67±64.08. The control group's mean pre-test sleep quality score was 178.83±116.890, and the mean post-test score was 244.33±122.94. A statistically significant difference was found between the pre-test/post-test sleep quality scores of patients in the experimental group (t=-9.335, p=0.000) and the pre-test/posttest sleep quality scores of patients in the control group (t=-2.730, p=0.011). Considering the post-test sleep quality median values of the experimental and control group patients, a statistically significant difference was determined between the groups (Z=- 4.675, p=0.000). Conclusion: It was determined that using eye mask and earplug applications positively affected sleep quality in patients hospitalized in the Coronary Intensive Care Unit. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic negatively affected people by creating a social crisis and trauma. Methods: In this descriptive qualitative study, adult participants were selected using the snowball method and with the principles of volunteerism. People who tested positive for COVID-19 were contacted by phone and informed about the study, and questions were sent by email or WhatsApp. Results: Participants stated that they were most surprised and disbelieved that they needed to be quarantined or hospitalized; worried about infecting others in the family; and felt fear, stress, anxiety, hopelessness, pessimism, sadness, and guilt. They also stated that they perceived quarantine or hospitalization as "frightening and experienced anger, despair, anxiety about not being able to recover and death, and felt sad, uncertain, and lonely.". Discussion and Conclusion: The pandemic created existential anxiety and crisis in all people regardless of the profession, and mental health was negatively affected. When health care workers became infected with COVID-19, they were worried about both getting sick and infecting their relatives and friends. If mental health preventive care services are planned, psychiatric morbidity is prevented and resources are not wasted. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
