The Covid-19 pandemic, which first emerged in the Yuhan province of China in December 2019 and affected the world in a very short time, deeply affected/affects various sectors, especially the health sector. While some sectors are being affected negatively by the epidemic, other sectors are being affected positively. One of those sectors that are affected positively is the e-commerce sector. This is the result of the consumers' opinions that e-commerce is less risky and more practical. The aim of the study is to determine the socio-economic factors that affect the online shopping decision and online shopping frequency of the households in the NUTS 1 regions of Turkey during the Covid-19 pandemic. In the analysis using the Sequential Panel Probit model, "Household Information Technologies B Micro Data Set" for the years 2019-2021 published by the Turkish Statistical Institute is used. As a result of the analysis, it is concluded that household income, access to internet, having child/ren, age/gender/education level and employment status of household head have significant effects on online shopping.

Eğitim, yaşam kalitesini artıran en öneli güçtür. Bu nedenle aileler, çocuklarının daha iyi eğitim almasını sağlamak, okul derslerine yönelik eksiklikleri gidermek veya pekiştirmek, merkezi sınav başarısını artırmak gibi nedenlerle çocuklarını dershaneye, kursa göndermekt, özel ders aldırmak veya okullarda verilen kurs ve etüt çalışmalarına katılmalarını sağlamak gibi farklı yollara başvurmaktadır. Aileler bu gibi okul dışı eğitim hizmetleri için ek kaynak ayırmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, hane sorumlusunun çocuğunu gönderdiği/aldırdığı kurs türlerinin seçiminde etkili olan sosyoekonomik faktörleri belirlemek amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaca yönelik olarak 2018 yılı "Yaşam Memnuniyet Araştırması" B mikro veri seti kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın kapsamını, 336 hanehalkı oluşturmaktadır. Çalışmanın analizinde, Multinomial Logit Modeli kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonucunda, kurs türlerinin seçiminde farklı sosyoekonomik faktörlerin etkili olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Dershane seçiminde yaş, medeni durum ve eğitim; okul kursu tercihinde yaş; özel kurs seçiminde hane büyüklüğü ve medeni durum; takviye derste gelir; okul kursu ile birlikte takviye dersi alanlarda ise yaş ve eğitim değişkenleri etkilidir.

Amaç: Remdesivir, COVID-19 tedavi kombinasyonlarında önerilen bir adenozin nükleotid analogu antiviral bir ilaçtır. COVID-19 tedavisinde aşı ve ilaç çalışmaları devam ederken, remdesivir de etkinlik, güvenlik ve olası yan etkiler açısından incelenmektedir. Bu nedenle hastanemizde COVID-19 tanısı alan ve remdesivir ile tedavi edilen hastalarımızın deneyimlerimizi paylaşmayı amaçladık. Gereç ve yöntem: 15 Mart-30 Mart 2020 tarihleri arasında, hastanemize başvuran ve nazofarengeal örneklerden çalışılan RT-PCR testi pozitif olan ve/veya toraks bilgisayarlı tomografi (BT) sonuçlarına göre COVID-19 tanısı alan 18 yaş üstü hastalar retrospektif olarak tarandı. Remdesivir tedavisi alanlar çalışmamıza dahil edildi.Bulgular: Çalışmamıza 23 hasta dahil edildi. Hastaların 18'i (%79,2) erkek, 5'i (%20,8) kadındı. Remdesivir başlama süresi semptomların başlangıcından itibaren 8,4±2,6 gün ve tanı anından itibaren 6±2,6 gündü. Takip döneminde 18 hastayı (%78,2) yoğun bakım ünitesine (YBÜ) yatırmak zorunda kaldık. 14'ünde (%60,8) mekanik ventilatöre ihtiyaç duydu. Tedavi sonrası takiplerinde ise 15 hastanın (%65,2) taburcu edildiği ve 8 hastanın (%34,8) ölümle sonuçlandığını gösterildi.Sonuç: COVID-19 hastalığının patogenezinde virüsün replikasyonu kadar inflamasyon da önemli olduğundan remdesivirin diğer antiviral, antisitokin tedaviler ile kombine şekilde kullanımı ile etkinliğinde artış olabileceği ve bu konuda da yapılacak yeni çalışmalara ihtiyaç olduğu düşünülmüştür., Purpose: Remdesivir is an adenosine nucleotide analog antiviral drug recommended in these treatment combinations. While vaccine and drug studies are underway in the treatment of COVID-19, remdesivir is also being studied in terms of efficacy, safety, and potential side effects. Therefore, we aimed to share our experiences of patients who were diagnosed with COVID-19 and treated with remdesivir in our hospital.Material method: Patients over 18 years of age, who were diagnosed with COVID-19 in our hospital between March 15 and March 30, 2020, based on positive RT-PCR and/or thoracic computed tomography (CT) results studied from nasopharyngeal samples, were screened retrospectively. Those who had received Remdesivir treatment were included in our study.Results: 23 patients were included in our study. Eighteen (79.2%) of the patients were male and 5 (20.8%) were female. Remdesivir initiation time was 8.4±2.6 days from the onset of symptoms and 6±2.6 days from the time of diagnosis. In the follow-up period, we had to hospitalize 18 patients (78.2%) in the intensive care unit (ICU). 14 (60.8%) needed a mechanical ventilator. Post-treatment follow-up showed that 15 (65.2%) recovered, and 8 (34.8%) resulted in mortality.Conclusion: Since inflammation is as critical as the replication of the virus in the pathogenesis of COVID-19 disease, the use of remdesivir in combination with other antiviral and anti-cytokine therapies may increase the effectiveness. We believe that we need new studies in this regard.

Information has a significant position in economic literature. Classical economic theory assumes that decision-making units have complete information. In the absence of market interventions, the market is in equilibrium. In the case of intervention in the market, it is claimed that the scarce resources are not used effectively, that is, the pareto optimum is not achieved and market failure is experienced. One of the reasons of market failure is asymmetric information. Asymmetric information is the situation in which one of the decision units in the market has more information than the other. Therefore, decision units can take their decisions under the condition of imperfect information. The existence of imperfect information impairs the symmetry of information among the parties. The aim of the study is to examine the asymmetric price structure of the milk market in Burdur province, which ranks 19th in the number of animals, 10th in the amount of milk produced and 1st in the amount of milk obtained per cattle. In the study, the long-term correlation between producer and consumer price series was analyzed using co-integration analysis, and the short-term correlation was analyzed using error correction model. As a result of the analysis, a statistically significant relationship was found between the lagged values of the positive error terms (ECT+) and the lagged values of the negative error terms (ECT-). When the absolute values of the calculated error terms were compared, it was determined that the absolute value of ECT- was greater than ECT+. In the analysis, it is concluded that retailers react more quickly to a shock that narrows their profit margins than to a shock that expands the margins., Bilgi, iktisat literatüründe önemli bir yere sahiptir. Klasik iktisat teorisi, iktisadi karar birimlerinin tam bilgiye sahip olduklarını varsaymaktadır ve piyasaya müdahalenin olmadığı durumda piyasa dengededir. Piyasaya müdahalenin olduğu durumda ise kıt kaynakların etkin kullanılmadığı yani pareto optimumum sağlanmadığı ve piyasa başarısızlığının yaşandığını ileri sürülmektedir. Piyasa başarısızlığının nedenlerinden biri asimetrik bilgidir. Asimetrik bilgi, piyasada bulunan karar birimlerinden birinin diğerine göre daha fazla bilgiye sahip olma durumudur. Dolayısıyla karar birimleri kararlarını eksik bilgi ile alabilmektedirler. Eksik bilginin varlığı taraflar arasındaki bilgi simetrisini bozmaktadır. Çalışmanın amacı, hayvan sayısında 19’uncu, süt miktarında 10’uncu ve büyük baş hayvandan elde edilen süt miktarında ise 1’inci sırada yer alan Burdur ili süt piyasasının asimetrik fiyat yapısını incelemektir. Çalışmada, üretici ve tüketici fiyat serileri arasındaki uzun dönemli ilişki eşbütünleşme analizi kullanılarak kısa dönemli ilişki ise hata düzeltme modeli kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Yapılan analiz sonucunda, pozitif hata terimlerinin (ECT+) gecikmeli değerleri ile negatif hata terimlerinin (ECT-) gecikmeli değerleri arasında istatistiki olarak anlamlı bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Hesaplanan hata terimlerinin mutlak değerleri karşılaştırıldığında, ECT-‘ye ait mutlak değerin ECT+’dan büyük olduğu tespit edilmiştir. Analizde, perakendecilerin kar marjlarını daraltıcı şoka kar marjını genişletici şoktan daha hızlı tepki verdiği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.

The globalization process offers countries the opportunity to integrate with world economies. Turkish economy has undergone significant structural transformation since the 1980s and experienced intense global developments in this complex period. Turkey, having strengths and weaknesses, is also faced with many threats and opportunities in the mentioned process. Therefore, a correct analysis of the opportunities and threats can move the country to a better point in the development road. Türkiye, 2000 yılı ve sonrası; Kasım 2000, Şubat 2001 ve 2008 olmak üzere üç büyük kriz yaşamıştır. 2000 ve sonrası yaşanan krizlerin etkilediği ekonomik aktörlerden biri de dış ticarettir. Dış ticaret, özellikle gelişmekte olan ülkelerin ekonomik hacmini etkileyen en önemli unsurlardan biridir. Dış ticaretin ekonomi üzerindeki öneminden dolayı bu çalışmada, Türkiye’nin 2000 ve sonrası yaşamış olduğu krizlerin dış ticaret üzerindeki etkisinin analizi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı doğrultusunda; ihracat ve ithalat denklemlerinin kurulabilmesi için reel efektif döviz kuru, büyüme ve Türkiye’nin ihracatta yoğun olduğu 6 ülkenin milli gelir değerleri analize dahil edilmiştir. Analizde, 2000-2017 dönemlerine ait aylık zaman serileri kullanılmıştır. Analizde ilk olarak zaman serisi verilerinin durağan olup olamadıkları analiz edilmiş ve birim kök analizi sonucunda aynı derecede bütünleşik oldukları tespit edilen verilerin uzun dönem ilişkileri Johansen Eşbütünleşme analizi çerçevesinde tahmin edilmiştir. Ayrıca, ithalat ve ihracat denklemleri için zayıf dışsal olmayan değişkenler kullanılarak uzun dönem denge değerine doğru yakınlaşma hızları ise Hata Düzeltme Modeli (VECM) kullanılarak analiz edilmiştir. Analizde; ihracat ve ithalatın yaşanan bir şok karşısında uzun dönemde tekrar dengeye geldiği ve dengeye gelme süresinin; ihracatta yaklaşık 34 dönem (34 ayda) ve ithalatta ise 142 dönem (142 ay) sürdüğü sonucuna ulaşılmıştır., Turkey experienced three great economic crises in November 2000, February 2001 and 2008 just after 2000. One of the economic actors which has been affected by the 2000 crisis and the following crises is foreign trade. Foreign trade is one of the most significant factors which influences economic capacity of developing countries. Due to the significance of foreign trade on economy, it is aimed to be analyzed the influence of financial crises experienced after 2000 in Turkey on foreign trade in this study. For this purpose, real effective exchange rate, growth and the values national incomes of 6 countries which are leadings on Turkey's exportation were included to the analysis as explanatory variables in the economic model in order to equate exportation and importation equations as goal of the study. The economic model was estimated by using monthly data during the periods between 2000-2017. At first, it was tested if time-series data are stable or not and predicted long-term relationships of the data that was determined equally integrated within the frame of Johansen Cointegration Analysis as a result of unit root test. For import and export equations, the convergence speeds towards the long-term equilibrium value using weak non-exogenous variables were analyzed using the Error Correction Model (ECM). At the analysis, exportation and importation bring into balance again in the long term in the face of any shock and it is made out that long term equilibrium is again achieved after around 34 periods (34 months) in export and 142 periods (142 months) in import.

As food and beverages have a vital need and the continuity of their supply is a must. Therefore, the beverage sector is an important sector at a strategic level for the countries’ economies. The aim of this study is to examine the beverage industry, which is structurally different from other sectors and has an important place in human health, in terms of market structure and concentration level. In the study, beverage industrial enterprises included in the first 1000 industrial enterprises published by the Istanbul Chamber of Industry were addressed and annual net sales figures for the period 2006-2016 belonging to the firms were used. As a result of the analysis conducted, according to concentration indexes values, it has been seen that Turkish beverage sector has an oligopolistic structure.

Yüzyılı aşkın bir geçmişi olan otomobil sanayi üretim miktarı, yarattığı katma değer ve ihracat değeri bakımından ülkelerin ekonomik büyüme ve kalkınmasında öncü sektörlerden biridir. Tüketicilerin otomobil talebi, otomobil üzerine uygulanan Özel Tüketim Vergi (ÖTV) politikasına bağlı olarak sürekli değişkenlik göstermektedir. Çalışmanın amacı, ÖTV oranlarında yaşanan değişimin Türkiye’de fabrikası bulunan Fiat, Ford, Toyota, Renault, Honda ve Hyundai marka araçlara yönelik talep üzerindeki etkisini panel eşbütünleşme yöntemi ile analiz etmektir. Çalışmada, Ocak 2014-Şubat 2017 dönemine ait aylık zaman serileri kullanılmış olup, binek otomobil talebinin ÖTV oranı, taşıt kredisi faiz oranı ve benzin fiyatlarındaki artıştan negatif yönde etkilendiği tespit edilmiştir. The automobile industry is one of the leading industries for economic growth and development of countries in terms of value added and export value. Consumer demand for automobiles exhibits a continuous fluctuation depending on the SCT (Special Consumption Tax) policy. The aim of this study is to analyze the impact of the change in SCT rates on automobile demand using panel co-integration method for Fiat, Ford, Toyota, Renault, Honda and Hyundai brands which have factories in Turkey. In the study, monthly time series data of January 2014 and February 2017 period has been used and increase in SCT rate, auto loan interest rates and petrol prices have a negative impact on personal automobile demand. Turkey is the leading country in dried apricot production and export in the world. In the study, by utilizing monthly data for the period 2006 – 2015 the price transmission in world dried apricot is estimated with Generalised Autoregressive Conditional Heteroscedasticity (GARCH) model. According to the model estimation results, all the variables included in the model, namely export price of Turkish dried apricot, real effective exchange rate index and exchange rate volatility, stock exchange quotation of Turkish dried apricot and its one month lagged value, and one month lagged world dried apricot price, are found to be statistically significant. The main findings of the study are that, the values of short term elasticities are lower than the values of long term elasticities; the values of elasticities are in between zero and one; in other terms the price transmission in world dried apricot market is incomplete., Türkiye kuru kayısı üretimi ve ihracatında dünyada lider ülke konumundadır. Bu çalışmada, 2006- 2015 dönemi aylık verileri kullanılarak dünya kuru kayısı fiyatlarındaki geçirgenlik, Genelleştirilmiş Otoregressif Koşullu Değişken Varyans (GARCH) modeli ile tahmin edilmiştir. Model tahmin sonuçlarına göre modele dahil edilen; Türkiye kuru kayısı ihracat fiyatı, reel efektif döviz kuru indeksi ile döviz kuru dalgalanması, Türkiye kuru kayısı borsa fiyatı ile bir aylık gecikmeli değeri ve dünya kuru kayısı fiyatının bir aylık gecikmeli değişkenlerinin tamamı istatistiksel olarak anlamlı bulunmuştur. Araştırmanın başlıca temel bulguları; kısa dönem esneklik değerlerinin uzun dönem esneklik değerlerinden daha düşük olduğu; esneklik değerlerinin sıfır ile bir arasında değerler aldığı; diğer bir ifade ile dünya kuru kayısı piyasasında fiyat geçirgenliğinin tam olmadığıdır.

Consumers need a variety of goods and services in order to maintain their lives. The consumption patterns of consumers can vary depending on the differences in geographical and socio-economic structure, the time period during which the analysis takes place and the specific circumstances that the country is going through. For this reason, the relationship between income and expenditure has been subject to many studies till today. The aim of the study is to investigate the effect of the geographical diversity and the special situation that Turkey is going through on the household consumption patterns of the Burdur province. In this study, income & expenditure relations of twelve expenditure groups and their position in total expenditures and income elasticity of these expenditure groups shall be estimated with the help of Engel functions by using the data obtained from questionnaires implemented on randomly selected 695 households residing in Center County of Burdur Province between the dates January 03, 2017 and February 28, 2017.As a result of the analysis, it has been found that food and non-alcoholic beverages, alcohol and tobacco products, housing expenses, health services, communication and clothing and foot-wear expenditure groups are in the obligatory class of goods; furniture, home appliances and home care services, culture and entertainment, educational expenses, and restaurant and hotel expenses are in luxury goods class. Therefore, it has been reached to conclusion that the period that Turkey is going through does not have any effect on the household income-consumption pattern of Burdur province.Keywords.
