The use of technological devices is increasing in all age groups, especially in preschool-aged children. However, there is a limiting number of studies investigating the relationship between the use of technological devices, eating behavior, and weight status in preschool children. The aim of this study was (1) to describe total usage of technological devices, (2) to evaluate level of exclusive use of such devices by children, (3) to investigate children’s eating behaviors and diet in relation to screen time and type. A cross-sectional study was conducted with 104 children aged 2–5 years in Küçükçekmece and Bakırköy, Istanbul. Data collection consisted of a validated parental questionnaire on demographics and the child’s use of technology and eating behavior, while associations in children were examined using logistic regression analysis. The analysis of the obtained data uncovered a strong association between children’s TV and tablet/smart phone use and the foods consumed by children when using these devices (p = 0.0001, p = 0.012). Also, there was a significant association between children’s eating habits and TV, and tablet/smart phone durations of use (p = 0.015, p = 0.025), but not with computer duration of use (p &gt, 0.05). Obesity and associated health problems can arise as results of suboptimal eating behavior, such as the ones observed in our study, which are also intensified with an increased duration of use of technological devices. The attitude of families towards prudent use of technological equipment is of great importance in impacting present and future health.

Bu çalışma, fosil yakıt bazlı bir yol kullanmak yerine biyokütle ve karbondioksit kullanarak optimal olarak dimetil eter ürettiğimiz bir süreç tasarlamayı amaçlamaktadır. Bugün fosil yakıtların kullanımı hala çok yüksektir. Karbondioksitin yakıt kullanan işlemlerde bir yan ürün olarak havaya salınımı son yüzyılda hızla artıp birçok doğal dengenin zarar görüp küresel ısınmanın oluşmasına sebep olmuştur. Bu nedenle baca gazlarından ele geçirilen karbondioksitin yeni uygulamalarda kapalı bir döngüde yeniden kullanılması önemli bir araştırma konusudur. Bu çalışmada karbondioksitin hem biyokütle gazlaştırma maddesi olarak hem de dimetil üretimi için kullanımı araştırılmıştır. Biyokütle hammaddesi olarak zeytin ağacı budaması kullanılmıştır. Gazlaştırma işleminin ana ürünleri dimetil eter üretiminde reaktant olan karbonmonoksit ve hidrojendir. DME üretiminde yılda 5000 ton CO2 kullanılan bu prosesin tasarımı ChemCAD yazılımı ile yapılmıştır. Biyokütle gazlaştırması ve dimetil eter sentezi tepkimelerinin hız denklemleri ChemCAD'de visual BASIC kullanılarak tanımlanmıştır. Sürecin ekonomik analizi 15 yıllık bir proje süresi için yapılmıştır. Projenin geri ödeme süresi ile yatırım geri dönüş oranı sunulmuştur. This work aims to design a process in which we optimally produce dimethyl ether using biomass and carbon dioxide instead of using a fossil fuel-based pathway. Today, the use of fossil fuels is still very high. As a byproduct in fuel processing, the release of carbon dioxide into the air has increased rapidly over the last century, and caused the destruction of many natural equilibria, one consequence being global warming. Therefore, reuse of captured carbon dioxide from flue gases in new applications in a closed cycle is an important research area. In this study, the use of carbon dioxide both as a biomass gasification agent and as a reactant to produce dimethyl ether is investigated. As the biomass feedstock, olive tree pruning is used. The major products of the gasification process are carbon monoxide and hydrogen both of which are reactants in the production of dimethyl ether. Process design in which 5000 tons of CO2 is used per year in the DME production is carried out using ChemCAD software. The kinetic rate expressions of biomass gasification and dimethyl ether synthesis reactions are defined in ChemCAD using visual BASIC. Economic analysis of the process is carried out for 15 years of project life. The payback period and rate of return of the project on investment are presented. 119

Bu tez çalışmasının amacı, kitosan mikrosünger sisteminin hazırlanması, analjezik ve antienflamatuar olarak kullanılan etkin madde Benzidamin HCl'nin ilaç taşıyıcı sisteme eklenmesi, kontrollü salım gösteren yeni bir ilaç taşıyıcı sistem geliştirilmesi ve sistemin in vitro salım çalışmalarının yapılmasıdır.Benzidamin HCl ağız boşluğu, yumuşak doku ve derinin enflamatuar koşullarının tedavisi için yaygın olarak kullanılan bir etkin maddedir. Analjezik, antienflamatuar, antipiretik ve antimikrobiyal özelliklere sahip nonsteroidal bir ajandır.Bu çalışmada, Benzidamin HCl içeren kitosan mikrosünger sistemi geliştirilmiştir. Formülasyonun karakterizasyonu için X-ışını kırınımı (XRD), diferansiyel taramalı kalorimetri (DSC), infrared (IR), yüzey morfolojisi (SEM), şişme indisi ve yüzey pH ölçüm analizleri yapılmıştır. It is a nonsteroidal drug that possesses analgesic, antiinflamatory, antipyretic and antimicrobial propeties.In this study, chitosan microsponge system containing benzydamine HCl was improved. For the characterization of the formulation, X-ray diffraction (XRD), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC), infrared (IR), surface morphology (SEM), swelling index and surface pH measurement analyzes were performed.
