AimSelf-rated health (SRH) and health-related quality of life (HRQoL) have closely related outcomes in measuring general health status in community-based studies. The aim of this study is to determine changes in the self-perceived overall health of people and affected factors by comparing the findings of two studies conducted in the same research area.MethodsBoth studies were conducted using the same measurement tools in households determined by random sampling techniques in the same research areas. The first and second studies were conducted with 1,304 and 1,533 people residing in 501 and 801 households in 2004 and 2017, respectively. The demographic data form, the Nottingham Health Profile (NHP), and a single-item SRH questionnaire were used for data collection.ResultsThe rate of good SRH increased from 56% to 70% while the average NHP score decreased from 30.87 to 20.34. The predictors of negative health perceptions were the presence of chronic diseases (OR 3.4–2.7-times higher), being female (OR.1.4–1.5 times higher), and the completion of primary education only (OR. 2.7–2.8 times higher) both 2004 and 2017. Living 500–1,000 m from the nearest healthcare facility was the main protective variable against poor SRH.ConclusionsGood SRH and HRQoL have increased significantly over time. Chronic diseases, education, and gender are the strongest predictors of poor SRH.

Amaç: Eczacılar topluma danışmanlık hizmeti veren, halk tarafından kolay ulaşılabilen ve onları etkileme özelliğine sahip olan sağlık çalışanlarıdır. Sağlığın geliştirilmesi çalışmalarında aktif rol oynayan eczacılar aynı zamanda kendi sağlık davranışlarıyla da topluma örnek olmaktadır. Bu çalışmada; Kayseri ili serbest eczacılarında sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları ve etkileyen faktörlerin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır.Yöntem: Çalışmamıza 216 eczacı katıldı ve çalışma verilerimiz 2021 Şubat-Ağustos ayları arasında tamamlandı. Verilerin toplanmasında eczacıların sosyo-demografik özellikleri ile bazı yaşam alışkanlıklarını içeren anket formu ve sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları ölçeği II kullanıldı. Verisi toplanan değişkenlerin değerlendirilmesinde sayı ve yüzde istatistiklerinin yanında ortalama ve standart sapma bilgilerinden faydalanıldı, bağımsız gruplarda t testi ve tek yönlü varyans analizi kullanıldı.Bulgular: Çalışmamızda eczacıların sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları ölçeği puanı 131.0±17.3, alt grup ölçek puanları ise; sağlık sorumluluğu 21.9±3.9, fiziksel aktivite 16.2±4.2, beslenme 20.3±3.4, manevi gelişim 26.9±3.8, kişilerarası ilişkiler 25.3±3.9, stres yönetimi 20.2±3.8 olarak saptandı. Sağlık yaşam biçimi davranışları; 30-39 yaş grubunda, çocuk sahibi olmayanlarda, alkol kullanmayı bırakanlarda, kendi sağlığını iyi olarak tanımlayan eczacılarda daha yüksek bulundu (p˂0.05). Sonuç: Araştırma sonucunda eczacıların sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları ölçeği puan ortalamasının genel olarak orta düzeyde olduğu, en yüksek puan ortalamasının manevi gelişim, en düşük puan ortalamasının fiziksel aktivite alt grubunda olduğu görüldü.

This study was aimed to develop the “Communicable Diseases Risk Awareness and Protection Scale” as a measurement tool for adult individuals. Materials and Methods: This is a methodological research, and the purposeful sampling method was used. The item pool prepared by the researchers has been provided with scope validity with expert opinions. After the pilot study, the 60-item draft scale was applied to the research group, consisting of 740 individuals. After an item analysis and an exploratory factor analysis, a confirmatory factor analysis was performed on the draft scale. Results: As a result of the principal components analysis and the Varimax rotation method, a six-factor structure was formed with the explained total variance of 45.21%. Since the Chi-square/ df:2.78, RMSEA:0.049, CFI:0.97, GFI:0.97, AGFI:0.97, NFI:0.96, and RFI:0.96 met the fit criteria, the construct validity of the scale was confirmed. In reliability analysis: Cronbach ᾳ value of the scale was 0.91; sub-dimensions were between 0.60-0.78. The Spearman-Brown coefficient was 0.86, and the test-retest correlation value was 0.95. Conclusion: It has been determined that the ‘Communicable diseases risk awareness and protection scale,’ consisting of 6 sub-dimensions and 36 items, was determined to be valid and reliable. The increase in the total score indicates a high level of risk awareness and protection from communicable diseases.

Bu çalışmada yetişkin bireyler için bir ölçme aracı olarak ‘Bulaşıcı Hastalıklar Risk Farkındalığı ve Korunma Ölçeği’nin geliştirilmesi amaçlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Metodolojik tipte bir araştırmadır ve amaçlı örnekleme yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan madde havuzunun kapsam geçerliliği uzman görüşleri ile sağlanmıştır. Pilot çalışma sonrasında 60 maddelik taslak ölçek, 740 kişiden oluşan araştırma grubuna uygulanmıştır. Madde analizi ve açımlayıcı faktör analizi sonrasında, taslak ölçek için doğrulayıcı faktör analizi yapılmıştır. Bulgular: Temel bileşenler analizi ve Varimax döndürme yöntemi sonucunda toplam varyansı %45,21 olarak açıklanan altı faktörlü yapı oluşturulmuştur. Ki-kare / sd:2,78, RMSEA:0,049, CFI:0,97, GFI:0,97, AGFI:0,97, NFI:0,96, RFI:0,96 uyum ölçütlerini karşıladığından ölçeğin yapı geçerliliği doğrulanmıştır. Güvenirlik analizinde: Ölçeğin Cronbach ᾳ değeri 0,91; alt boyutları 0,60-0,78 arasındadır. Spearman-Brown katsayısı 0,86 ve test-tekrar test korelasyon değeri 0,95’ti. Sonuç: Altı alt boyut ve 36 maddeden oluşan ‘Bulaşıcı hastalıklar risk farkındalığı ve korunma ölçeği’ geçerli ve güvenilir olarak belirlenmiştir. Toplam puan artışı, bulaşıcı hastalıklara risk farkındalığı ve korunma düzeyinin arttığını göstermektedir.

Amaç: Bu çalışmada obezitenin yaşam kalitesine etkisinin belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Araçlar ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı nitelikte olan bu çalışma Kayseri ili Talas ilçesinde aile sağlığı merkezlerine başvuran 18-65 yaş arası bireyler üzerinde yapılmıştır. Veri toplama aracı olarak “Dünya Sağlık Örgütü Yaşam Kalitesi Ölçeği Kısa Formu Türkçe Versiyonu (WHOQOL BREF-TR) kullanılmıştır. Araştırma için etik kurul onayı ve kurum izni alınmıştır. Aile Sağlığı Merkezlerine başvuran beden kitle indeksi 30,0’un üstünde olan 110 obez birey ile beden kitle indeksi 18,5-24,9 arasında olan aynı sayıda obez olmayan 110 birey olmak üzere toplam 220 kişi araştırma kapsamına alınmıştır. Anket formu araştırmacı gözetiminde katılımcı tarafından doldurulmuştur. Verilerin değerlendirilmesinde student t, one way ANOVA ve ki kare testleri kullanılmıştır. Bulgular: Her iki grupta da bireylerin %50’si erkek, %50’si kadındır. Bireylerin %23,6’sı 28-29, %23,6’sı 30-39 , %25,5’i 40-49 , %27,3’ü ise 50-65 yaş aralığındadır. Yaş ortalaması obezlerde 40,83 ± 12,87, obez olmayan bireylerde ise 40,23 ± 12,3’dır. Kronik hastalık görülme oranı obezlerde %44,5 obez olmayanlarda ise % 27,3 olarak bulunmuştur. Obez grubun yaşam kalitesi bedensel boyut puanı 13,7±2,0 obez olmayanların ise 14,6±2,2 olarak bulunmuştur (p, Purpose: In this study, we aimed to determine the effect of obesity on quality of life. Materials and Methods: This descriptive study was conducted on individuals aged between 18 and 65 who applied to Family Health Centers in Talas region of Kayseri province. A total of 220 people were included in the study, with 110 obese people whose body mass index greater than 30, and 110 non obese people whose body mass index is between 18.5-24.9. Survey form was filled by the participant under the surveillance of the researcher. Results: In both groups, the numbers of male and female patients were equal. 23.6% of the individuals were in 18-29 age range, 23.6% were in 30-39 age range, 25.5% were in 40-49 age range, and 27.3% were in 50-65 age range. In this study, it is aimed to determine the attitudes of medical faculty students about gender roles and discrimination in the working areas of men and women, social life and family life. It is a descriptive study. Regardless of the sample selection, 96.7% of the students attending the first year of Erciyes University Faculty of Medicine in the 2015-2016 academic year has been reached. 62.8% of students believe that the issue of gender inequality in Turkey. Traditional role distribution in education, work, family, social life, women-men relationship is considered to be significantly higher than women. However, female students also found high rates of participation in propositions supporting unequal role distribution. Men adopt traditional role distribution more, but women also participate in unequal role distribution at low rates., Bu araştırmada tıp fakültesi öğrencilerinin kadın ve erkeğin çalışma alanları, toplumsal yaşam ve aile yaşamları içinde toplumsal cinsiyet rolleri ve ayrımcılıkla ilgili tutumlarının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Tanımlayıcı nitelikte bir çalışmadır. Örneklem seçimine gidilmeksizin 2015-2016 eğitim öğretim yılında Erciyes Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi birinci sınıfa devam eden öğrencilerin % 96,7’sına ulaşılmıştır. Öğrencilerin % 62.8’i Türkiye’de toplumsal cinsiyet konusunda eşitsizlik olduğuna inanmaktadır. Eğitim, çalışma, aile, sosyal hayat, kadın erkek ilişkisi konularında geleneksel rol dağılımını erkekler kadınlardan anlamlı olarak fazla oranda kabullenmektedir. Ancak kadın öğrencilerin de eşitsiz rol dağılımını destekleyen önermelere katılma oranları yüksek bulunmuştur. Erkekler geleneksel rol dağılımını daha fazla benimsemektedir ancak kadınlarda da düşük olmayan oranlarda eşitsiz rol dağılımına katılım bulunmaktadır.

It is important to consider the level of health literacy in evaluating individuals in health-related matters. This study was conducted to determine the level of health literacy of the academic staff working at non-health schools in Kayseri Erciyes University and the affecting factors. This descriptive and cross-sectional study was conducted on 690 academicians with “European Health Literacy Scale Turkish Version” (HLS-TR). 28.8% of the research group has sufficient level of health literacy and 28.8±8.4 average score. The sufficient health literacy level is higher in women, married ones, the ones having no chronical diseases and research assistants. In logistic regression analysis, the sufficient HL level of those married to a health worker is 1.8 times higher when compared to those who are not married to a health worker. The sufficient HL level of those who are considered as healthy is 1.72 times higher than those who are considered to have bad health. To increase the level of health literacy, multidisciplinary health training projects in which the state, education system, universities, health system and media are included should be carry out.

Giriş: Adölesan dönem olumlu sağlık davranışlarının kazanılabileceği bir dönem olması nedeniyle önem taşımaktadır. Bu çalışma seçilmiş ilçe merkezinde adölesan dönemi gençlerin sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışlarını belirlemek amacıyla planlanmıştır. Yöntem: 2014 yılında yapılan bu araştırma Yozgat İli Şefaatli ilçe merkezindeki üç lisede öğrenim gören 490 öğrenci üzerinde yapılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri, öğrencilerin sosyodemografik özelliklerini içeren “Kişisel Bilgi Formu” ve “Adölesan Yaşam Biçimi Ölçeği (AYBÖ)” kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Bulgular: Adölesanların sağlık davranışlarına sahip olma düzeyini gösteren AYBÖ toplam puanı 117.5 ± 19.8 olarak bulunmuştur. Adölesanların yaşam biçimi ölçeği puan ortalamaları alt ölçeklerine göre incelendiğinde gençlerin en yüksek puanı pozitif yaşam bakışı, en düşük puanı ise fiziksel aktivite alt ölçeğinden aldıkları belirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin ölçek puanları ile sınıf, cinsiyet, son beş yılını geçirdiği yer, algıladıkları sosyoekonomik durum, sosyal güvence, anne-babanın öğrenim durumu, sağlıklarını algılama durumları, sosyal aktivite yapma durumları, sigara kullanma, sağlıklı yaşam hakkında bilgi alma arasında anlamlı ilişki bulunmuştur. Sonuç: Benzer araştırmalarla karşılaştırıldığında araştırmaya katılan öğrencilerin sağlıklı yaşam biçimi davranışları puanlarının iyi düzeyde olduğu bulunmuştur., Introduction: As positive health behaviors can be developed in adolescence period, it is a significant period of time. This study is planned to determine healthy lifestyle behaviors of adolescents living in county towns. Method: Present study was conducted with 490 students attending to three high schools located in Şefaatli County in Yozgat city in 2014. Research data was collected by using “Personal Information Form” and “Adolescent Lifestyle Scale (AYBÖ)”. Findings: Total AYBÖ score of having health behavior for adolescents was found as 117.5 ± 19.8. When lifestyle scale score averages of adolescents are compared to sub-scales, it was seen that the highest score of adolescents was positive world-view and the lowest score was physical activity sub-scale. There have been a statistically significant relation between the scale scores of students and their grades, gender, last place of residence for five years, perceived socio-economic status, social insurance, educational status of parents, condition of perceiving their health, social activity participation, getting information about healthy living. Conclusion: When compared to similar studies, it was seen that the score of healthy lifestyle behaviors scores of participant students were at a good level.
