Abstract

The author addresses the issue of gender-based violence and gender inequality experienced by women in the coffee industry in various countries. The author recounts observing women coffee farmers in Papua New Guinea live in poverty and talks about the low wages given to female workers in the coffee industry. She also encourages the global community to participate in collaborative efforts to help these women and to establish organizations like the International Women's Coffee Alliance (IWCA).
