The article discusses the neglect of lifesaving medical devices in the Federal Budget. Various essential medical devices, such as CT scans, MRIs, laboratory kits and analyzers, operation theater equipment, ICU ventilators and monitors, and blood bank screening kits, have been ignored in the budget. The importance of medical devices in diagnosing diseases and providing proper treatment is highlighted through examples, including the death of a liver specialist due to undiagnosed malaria. The article argues against the imposition of taxes on medical devices, as it will increase the cost of treatment and suggests that the authorities should consider removing or reducing the taxation on these devices.
