The article explores the role of intelligence in ethical considerations about the principles of just war, the law of armed conflict and other standards of international humanitarian law. It discusses the justification for the invasion of Iraq presented by U.S. President George W. Bush. The performance of the U.S. National Security Council (NSC) in dealing with conflicts is discussed, as well as the gathering of intelligence by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) during the war.
