Adolescence is a transitional period from childhood to adulthood and also a period of identity crisis. Adolescents prepare themselves for various aspects of adult life, including their sexual life. Parents play a crucial role as the first line of guidance for their adolescents and protect them from various permissive attitudes towards sex through good interpersonal communication. This study aims to determine the correlation between parents and adolescents' interpersonal communication and attitude towards sexuality.: The method used in this study is a quantitative correlational method with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample consisted of 165 students from a private high school in Yogyakarta. Samples were selected by convenience sampling method and calculated by the Yamane formula. Data were analyzed using the Spearman Rank test. The analysis shows a significance number of p-value=0.001 (p<0.05) was obtained, meaning that there is a significant correlation between parents and adolescents interpersonal communication and attitudes towards sexuality. The research shows that the better the interpersonal communication between parents and adolescents, the better the attitudes towards sexuality. Adolescents are expected to be more honest and open in expressing their thoughts to parents in order to avoid permissive attitudes towards sexuality. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
