Market competitiveness drives the electric motors industry, which in turn necessitates the selection of optimal production scenarios, particularly in the context of packaging. This is crucial for maintaining competitiveness and meeting the rigorous quality and logistical demands that are characteristic of this industry. This paper presents a systematic analysis of the packaging production chain for electric motors, employing the SAPEVO-M method as a decision aid tool. The study examines various strategic options, including outsourcing and internalizing processes, with a particular focus on their impacts on logistics, quality control, and overall supply-chain efficiency. The research conducts a comprehensive evaluation of these strategies to ascertain the most effective approach for managing the complexities of packaging production. The SAPEVO-M method facilitated a structured decision-making process, allowing for the aggregation and prioritization of diverse criteria such as cost, quality, flexibility, environmental impact, and supply risk. A sensitivity analysis was performed to validate the robustness of the decision-making outcomes under varying alternatives. The findings highlight the benefits of internalizing certain processes, particularly the assembly (with a score of 43.27%), to gain direct control over production variables, leading to enhanced operational efficiency and product competitiveness. This paper contributes to the literature by demonstrating the application of MCDA in enhancing strategic decisions within the electric motors industry, providing insights for analyzing other manufacturing factors in the improvement of supply-chain processes. High-strength concrete is more sensitive to changes in curing conditions and has a higher tendency to crack. To mitigate shrinkage and sensitivity to curing conditions, various methods, such as internal curing (IC) agents, have been proposed. Various types of materials, including pumice, ceramic aggregates, recycled concrete aggregates, perlite, and superabsorbent polymers (SAP), have been used for internal curing. Due to the difference in absorption content and rate of water absorption and desorption between SAP and recycled lightweight aggregate, their effect on the properties of high strength concrete can be different. This study explores the impact of IC using SAP on compressive strength, plastic shrinkage, and restrained shrinkage from drying in HSC, comparing it with IC using recycled lightweight aggregate (LWA).The utilization of pre-soaked SAP as an IC agent resulted in a minor enhancement in the workability of concrete. The use of LAW has reduced the workability of concrete. Because the shape of LAW particles is crushed, unlike SAP spherical particles. The results showed that pre-saturation with a superabsorbent polymer or recycled LWA slightly boosts compressive strength under drying conditions. The compressive strength of compounds with SAP and LAW in drying conditions was lower than that of the control mixture in standard curing conditions. This suggests that despite the favorable impact of IC with SAP and LAW on compressive strength, it does not fully address the decrease in concrete strength resulting from unfavorable curing. Regarding the effect of IC on shrinkage cracks, while IC with a recycled LWA proves more effective in reducing restrained shrinkage, IC with a superabsorbent polymer is more efficient in mitigating plastic shrinkage and minimizing concrete cracking risks. Photovoltaic panels' performance is degraded when their temperature rises above 25 °C. Various cooling methods are proposed to deal with this issue. In this study pin fin cooling is introduced as a simple and cost-effective passive cooling technique to cool a 10 (W) monocrystalline photovoltaic module. Indoor experimental tests have been conducted to investigate the module's thermal and electrical performance. Based on the radiation intensity, module's tilt angle, pin fin numbers, and pin fin arrangements, four categories are defined and extensively studied. The obtained results reveal that adding pin fins can reduce the module's temperature up to nearly 10 °C. More interestingly, by inclining the bare photovoltaic module from a horizontal state to a 45-degree inclination angle the module's average temperature is reduced by 6 °C. This temperature reduction is about 15 °C if the PV module is inclined by 45 degrees and also attached by 100 pin fins. Based on the experimental findings, the change in the pin fins' arrangement did not show a sensible change in either thermal or electrical performance of the photovoltaic device. With the introduction of the "dual carbon" goal and the continuous promotion of low-carbon development, the integrated energy system (IES) has gradually become an effective way to save energy and reduce emissions. This study proposes a low-carbon economic optimization scheduling model for an IES that considers carbon trading costs. With the goal of minimizing the total operating cost of the IES and considering the transferable and curtailable characteristics of the electric and thermal flexible loads, an optimal scheduling model of the IES that considers the cost of carbon trading and flexible loads on the user side was established. The role of flexible loads in improving the economy of an energy system was investigated using examples, and the rationality and effectiveness of the study were verified through a comparative analysis of different scenarios. The results showed that the total cost of the system in different scenarios was reduced by 18.04%, 9.1%, 3.35%, and 7.03%, respectively, whereas the total carbon emissions of the system were reduced by 65.28%, 20.63%, 3.85%, and 18.03%, respectively, when the carbon trading cost and demand-side flexible electric and thermal load responses were considered simultaneously. Flexible electrical and thermal loads did not have the same impact on the system performance. In the analyzed case, the total cost and carbon emissions of the system when only the flexible electrical load response was considered were lower than those when only the flexible thermal load response was taken into account. Photovoltaics have an excess of carbon trading credits and can profit from selling them, whereas other devices have an excess of carbon trading and need to buy carbon credits. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]

Electricity markets are struggling. Unprecedented energy price shocks, a deeply entrenched cost-of-living crisis, and the imperatives of decarbonization are challenging the ability of current market arrangements to deliver clean, affordable electricity at the scale and pace necessary to avoid widespread climate disruption. Over the last several years, mass protests around the world have put a vision of electricity as a primary social good and system of provisioning squarely on the public agenda for the first time in a generation. Regulators have responded with emergency packages of support and longer-term efforts to rethink and reform the basic design of electricity markets. In all of this, it is increasingly clear that the forty-year global experiment with neoliberal electricity has failed to deliver on even the most basic metrics and, more importantly, is no longer fit for purpose as electricity becomes the chief instrument of decarbonization for most economies around the world. This Article explains how and why electricity markets have failed and offers a series of prescriptions for where we go from here. The Article starts with a brief global history of neoliberal electricity that shows how the project of privatization and restructuring emerged and spread around the world and the consequences this entailed. It then discusses how these markets have struggled with persistent problems of market power, chronic underinvestment, high prices, and an inability to support renewable energy at scale. Finally, the Article offers some provisional thoughts on what an alternative, decommodified approach to electricity might look like as the clean energy transition accelerates, focusing specifically on the relationship between capital and infrastructure, the need for "social ratemaking" to ensure access and affordability, and the potential for a more cooperative approach to balancing the system as intermittent renewables come to dominate the supply of electricity. The Article draws on recent work in law and political economy as well as some of its precursors in legal realism and institutional economics. It also engages with a specific set of questions and concerns that have long preoccupied the fields of public utility and regulated industries law but have recently been revived and updated in the context of a new cross-sectoral approach to economic regulation known as networks, platforms, and utilities law. The key objective is to understand how law, politics, and economics have together structured distributional struggles over the design and maintenance of electricity markets and how they might be recombined in new ways to realize a vision of electricity as a key system of provisioning and vital infrastructure for the clean energy future. Despite the development of laser processing, the mechanical cutting process is still widely used in the formation of electric steels that are very sensitive to thermal phenomena. However, proper process control is difficult due to the large number of factors determining the quality of the products. As a result, the quality of the cut edge is characterised by the presence of burrs, the removal of which increases the production costs. Due to their magnetic properties, these materials should not be exposed to excessive stresses and deformations. The article presents the possibilities of predicting the characteristic features of the cut edge as well as stress distributions in this area. Original shear-slitting finite element method (FEM) models were developed, the results of which were verified experimentally. The proposed method based on stress triaxiality analysis enables precise analysis of stress states in the cutting zone and the boundaries of the slip fracture transition in the separating fracture, as well as determining the method of material cracking. Variable control factors such as cutting clearance, rake angle of the upper knife, and cutting speed were taken into account in the models. Parametric analysis of the process was carried out and it was determined how the process parameters should be selected in order to obtain the appropriate quality of the product. Competitive functions based on political, social, cultural, and economic changes become more complex as social expectations and approaches change. Analysis methods are determined based on the Delphi objective, round structure, question type, and participant number. A just-in-time production system focuses on producing as little inventory as possible rather than keeping a large stock in the warehouse. An organization should design a unique system and maintain close relationships with its suppliers to ensure that materials and parts are provided on time when they are needed. Other past production management methods that have less integration into processes have lost their effectiveness because of the characteristics of new production environments and the nature of customers. Orderly charging will reduce carbon emissions and rational charging station siting will properly guide EVs to charge in an orderly manner. This paper summarizes and analyzes charging station siting methods from the perspective of a charging operator. Starting with the growing demand for charging, four factors affecting the location of charging stations are listed and analyzed. By reviewing the development history of charging station siting, different international schemes for charging station siting in recent years are systematically described. Then the traditional site selection method is compared with the modern site selection method and the shortcomings of the traditional site selection method and the advantages of the modern site selection method are summarized. Be further inspired by examples of practical applications under site optimization schemes in developed countries with electric vehicle industries in Norway and the United States. The development of public transportation is considered a vital issue in reducing traffic as well as urban pollution. City buses play an important role in the city transportation system. In Iran, due to the high average age of city buses, it is necessary to replace the old buses with new ones, To replace the old buses, diesel and CNG, hybrid, and electric buses are proposed as the main alternatives. Global warming and the energy crisis are now considered as two potential serious threats for the world. Therefore, energy consumption and CO2 emissions are examined as two outstanding criteria for comparing candidate buses in this paper. To make an accurate comparison, the amount of energy consumption and CO2 emissions have been calculated based on the well-to-wheel approach. The electric bus well-to-wheel analysis has been done for both electricity generation mix and renewable generation. To perform more accurate calculations and simulations, as a case study, a real driving cycle has been constructed for Tehran. For this approach, a modified micro trip method as a novel solution is presented to synthesize the driving cycle. The results show that due to the high share of fossil power plants (about 92%) in Iran, the use of electric buses in the bus fleet may not have much effect on reducing energy and CO2 eq emissions. By using renewable power plants, the amount of well-to-wheel energy consumption and CO2 emissions decrease significantly (about 56% and 93%, respectively) compared to that for the generation mix. Purpose: This research investigates the relationship between power shortages and the sales performance of businesses in South Asia (SAR). The study seeks to reveal the impact of electricity supply quality on commercial operations in the region by utilizing a mix of qualitative and quantitative measures, based on data from World Bank enterprise surveys. Design/Methodology/Approach: The study employs Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) estimation techniques with industry and country fixed effects to account for national and industry-level variations. It utilizes data from the World Bank Enterprise Surveys to assess the influence of electricity supply on business sales, considering both perception-based and quantitative metrics. Findings: The research consistently demonstrates an inverse relationship between the reliability of electricity supply and business sales performance in SAR. Whether measured by perception-based indicators or quantitative measures, power interruptions and deficiencies are detrimentally linked to sales. While the correlation is statistically significant, it is not exceptionally strong, necessitating caution in formulating broad policy recommendations solely based on these findings. Implications/Originality/Value: From a policy perspective, the study emphasizes the critical role of perceived electricity infrastructure quality. A reliable electricity supply is found to be paramount for enhancing enterprise sales, regardless of the severity of hindrances identified by businesses. This underscores the importance of prioritizing dependable electricity supply to bolster business operations in the region, offering valuable insights for policymakers and business leaders in South Asia. The ankle exoskeleton is an auxiliary device designed to restore human independence. This paper proposes the development and initial testing of a passive ankle exoskeleton designed for movements with dorsal and plantar flexion. The device also includes a new mechanism design with four electric linear actuators, and the shank platform and the foot platform are connected to the ball by a swivel joint. Mechanical tests demonstrate the ability of the prototype to function adequately in the natural range of the ankle joint. Preliminary results show that the exoskeleton can reduce the activation of the calf muscles on the limb on which the device is installed. In the investigation of a passive ankle joint exoskeleton designed for movements with dorsal and plantar flexion, numerical test results can be highlighted by focusing on parameters such as speed, acceleration, and translation moment. These measurements provide valuable information about the performance and effectiveness of the exoskeleton. By focusing on these numerical test results, it is possible to obtain an idea of the performance of the exoskeleton, understand its impact on the movements of the ankle joint, and make informed decisions for further improvements or optimization of the design. The unprecedented transformation of contemporary power systems, mainly evidenced by the high penetration of renewable energy generation and the shift from passive to active, bi-directional smart grids, has put an extraordinary burden on power system operation and control. The uncertainties created by the two aforementioned factors greatly propel the necessity of more accurate and robust system monitoring. Concurrently, an ever-increasing amount of electronics-based power generation makes frequency stability a major challenge to power system operation and control due to the vastly diminishing system inertia. As a crucial part of system control, frequency monitoring is utilized to identify potential stability issues and eventually prevent cascading power outages and blackouts. This paper proposes a dynamic state estimation (DSE) methodology that employs deep learning (DL) techniques based on feed-forward artificial neural networks (ANN) to accurately predict power system disturbances in terms of frequency disturbance events (FDE) caused by line outages, load/generation tripping events, and various types of faults. The proposed methodology was tested on a test grid model with high penetration of renewable generation, using an open-source data generator. It was concluded that DL-based DSE can be successfully utilized in the FDE detection process to improve frequency monitoring and control, and to maintain optimal performance, stability, and security of power systems. The large-scale deployment of renewable energy sources (RESs) has sped up the transition to clean energy systems in response to depleting fossil fuel supplies and rising environmental concerns, resulting in a significant percentage of RES generation in power systems globally. A focused design that considers local limits is necessary for a more significant share of renewable energy in the power output. Setting clear rules for how to proceed, where to begin, and what expertise is required to accomplish such plans and efforts can help achieve this. A case study on the Greek interconnected electrical system in Crete considers two scenarios with high-RES penetration. The authors propose an instrumental apparatus for calculating the ratings of Russian companies in the oil and gas and electric power industries based on a weighting method, risk assessment using the minimax criterion and an intellectual tree structure. The relevance of the developed system is justified by the need to create Russian rating systems for companies that will represent their actual state and place in the analyzed group. The problem of data redundancy has been solved by using the hierarchical principle for the isolated indexing of absolute and relative indicators from the financial statements of the companies in question into sub-indexes, with further integral indexing and correction for the volatility of changes over the past three years. The authors used a financial analytics apparatus based on the regular financial (accounting) statements of companies according to accepted forms, and balance sheets and reports on financial results were applied. The authors developed and tested a methodology for sub-indexing important indicators of financial statements: capital structure—equity, debt capital, highly liquid assets (cash and settlement accounts in reliable banks, short-term financial investments) and net profit. Voiceprint recognition can extract voice features and identity the speaker through the voice information, which has great application prospects in personnel identity verification and voice dispatching in the electric industry. The traditional voiceprint recognition algorithms work well in a quiet environment. However, noise interference inevitably exists in the electric industry, degrading the accuracy of traditional voiceprint recognition algorithms. In this paper, we propose an enhanced deep residual shrinkage network (EDRSN)-based voiceprint recognition by combining the traditional voiceprint recognition algorithms with deep learning (DL) in the context of the noisy electric industry environment, where a dual-path convolution recurrent network (DPCRN) is employed to reduce the noise, and its structure is also improved based on the deep residual shrinkage network (DRSN). Moreover, we further use a convolutional block attention mechanism (CBAM) module and a hybrid dilated convolution (HDC) in the proposed EDRSN. Simulation results show that the proposed network can enhance the speaker's vocal features and further distinguish and eliminate the noise features, thus reducing the noise influence and achieving better recognition performance in a noisy electric environment. Many states exempt intangible personal property (IPP). Often people conflate, combine, and confuse IPP with goodwill when those are distinct concepts. Furthermore, to apply the IPP exemption, many people attempt to estimate IPP and goodwill value using ad hoc solutions. This article proposes a simple and transparent method, the enterprise value to invested capital (EVIC) multiple, to estimate the taxable property's value. The multiple's algebraic equivalence, advantages, simplicity, and transparency compared to the discounted cash flow (DCF) method, without "slippery inputs," is discussed. The model values tangible property according to the law of one price and IPP values are correlated with the firm's expected profitability. The paper uses publicly available data from the airline, electric, gas distribution, pipeline, railroad, telecom, and wireless industries are used as examples to demonstrate valuation accuracy and consistency across companies for tangible property values and excluding IPP values. The model is most useful for utility sectors and industrial properties that have a combination of real, personal, and intangible personal property where tangible assets are a key value driver. In the face of the rapidly escalating climate crisis, the electricity sector is moving toward renewable energy. To date, policies and strategies have focused on increasing overall renewable energy generation, with little regard for timing and location. The result has been a misalignment of supply and demand in renewable energy markets. Renewable power projects produce energy when and where it is least expensiue, leaving supply scarce at other times and places. Consumers, meanwhile, continue to use power when and where they need it. This mismatch increases the electricity grid's dependence on fossil fuel-fired electricity to meet electricity demand at times and places when renewable power remains scarce. For electricity consumers to escape their dependence on carbonemitting energy sources, renewable energy markets must incentivize generation of power when and where people and businesses need electricity. Policies and strategies that employ the emerging concept of 24 / 7 clean energy can address the existing mismatch by aligning generation and usage on an hourly basis so that renewable energy meets the full electricity needs of the US. economy.
