422. Secure Key Generation from OFDM Subcarriers’ Channel Response

Abstract

The ability to exchange keys between users is vital in any wireless based security system. A key generation technique exploits the randomness of the wireless channel is a promising alternative to existing key distribution techniques, e.g., public key cryptography. In this paper a secure key generation scheme based on the subcarriers’ channel responses in orthogonal frequencydivision multiplexing (OFDM) systems is proposed. We first implement a time-variant multipath channel with its channel impulse response modelled as a wide sense stationary (WSS) uncorrelated scattering random process and demonstrate that each subcarrier’s channel response is also a WSS random process. We then define the X% coherence time as the time required to produce an X% correlation coefficient in the autocorrelation function (ACF) of each channel tap, and find that when all the channel taps have the same Doppler power spectrum, all subcarriers’ channel responses has the same ACF as the channel taps. The subcarrier’s channel response is then sampled every X% coherence time and quantized into key bits. All the key sequences’ randomness is tested using National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) statistical test suite and the results indicate that the commonly used sampling interval as 50% coherence time cannot guarantee the randomness of the key sequence.

Abstract

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) have attracted much attention because of their large surface areas, tunable structures, and potential applications in many areas. In recent years, MOFs have shown much promise in CO2 photoreduction. This review summarized recent research progresses in MOF-based photocatalysts for photocatalytic reduction of CO2. Besides, it discussed strategies in rational design of MOF-based photocatalysts (functionalized pristine MOFs, MOF-photosensitizer, MOF-semiconductor, MOF-metal, and MOF-carbon materials composites) with enhanced performance on CO2 reduction. Abstract

Accumulating evidence suggests that air pollution is a risk factor for adverse respiratory and cardiovascular health outcomes. However, the different impacts of exposure to air pollutants on influenza virus activity and influenza-like illness (ILI) have not been well documented in epidemiological studies. We examined the association between air pollutants of particular matters < 2.5 μm (PM2.5), particular matters < 10 μm (PM10), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulfur dioxide (SO2), and influenza occurrences in Hefei, China, from December 2013 to December 2015 by generalized Poisson additive regression models. The result suggested that PM2.5 and PM10 had similar effects on clinical ILI and influenza incidence. PM10 was negatively associated with clinical ILI (relative risk (RR) 0.980, 95% confidence interval (CI) 0.974-0.987), while PM2.5 were positively associated with clinical ILI (RR 1.040; 95% CI 1.032-1.049). RRs for the laboratory-confirmed cases of influenza were 0.813 (95% CI, 0.755-0.875) for PM10 and 1.216 (95% CI, 1.134-1.304) for PM2.5. Nevertheless, the impacts of SO2 and NO2 on ILI and influenza were distinct. SO2 had significant influence on laboratory-confirmed influenza and had no significant linear relationship with ILI. NO2 was negatively correlated with influenza but had no obvious effect on clinical ILI cases. The present study contributes novel evidence on understanding of the effects of various air pollutants on influenza activities, and these findings can be useful and important for the development of influenza surveillance and early warning systems. Abstract

Objective: To study the chemical constituents in leaves of Cebera manghas. Methods: Chemical constituents were isolated by using various column chromatography and the structures were elucidated on basis Of physicochemical constants and spectral data analysis. Results: Nine compounds were obtained including p-hydroxybenzaldehyde (1), benzamide (2), n-hexadecane acid monoglyceride (3), loliolide (4). B-sitosterol (5). Cerberin (6), neriifolin (7). cerleaside A (8). daucosterol (9). Conclusions: Compounds 1-4 are obtained from this genus for the first time.

440. Liraglutide reduces lipogenetic signals in visceral adipose of db/db mice with AMPK activation and Akt suppression

Yimin Shao, Geheng Yuan, Junqing Zhang, Xiaohui Guo Department of Endocrinology, Peking University First Hospital, Beijing, People’s Republic of China Abstract: Liraglutide, a glucagon-like peptide-1 analog, has been proved to reduce body weight and visceral adipose tissue (VAT) in human studies. In this study, we aimed at examining lipogenetic signal changes in VAT after weight-loss with liraglutide in db/db mice. The mice were divided into two groups: liraglutide-treated group (n=14, 8-week-old, fasting glucose. >10 mmol/L, liraglutide 300 µg/kg twice a day for 4 weeks) and control group (n=14, saline). We found body weight gain and food intake were reduced after liraglutide treatment (P<0.05). Compared to the control group, the VAT weights were significantly lower in the treated group (2.32±0.37 g versus 3.20±0.30 g, P<0.01) than that in control group. In VAT, compared with control group, the lipogenetic transcription factors PPARγ and C/EBPα expressions were both reduced with pAMPK and pACC increased 3.5-fold and 2.31-fold respectively, while pAkt and pP38MAPK were reduced 0.38-fold and 0.62-fold respectively (P<0.01). In conclusion, VAT was reduced after weight loss with AMPK activation and Akt suppression with liraglutide treatment, which was associated with reduction of lipogenetic process in VAT. A new diarylheptanoid, namelytrans-(4R,5S)-epoxy-1,7-diphenyl-3-heptanone (1), and a new natural product, 7-(4″-hydroxy-3″-methoxyphenyl)-1-phenyl-hepta-4E,6E-dien-3-one (2), were obtained from the aqueous extract ofAlpinia officinarumHance, together with three other diarylheptanoids, 5-hydroxy-1,7-diphenyl-3-heptanone (3), 1,7-diphenyl-4E-en-3-heptanone (4) and 5-methoxy-1,7-diphenyl-3-heptanone (5). The structures were characterised mainly by analysing their physical data including IR, NMR and HRMS. This study highlights that the 4,5-epoxy moiety in1is rarely seen in diarylheptanoids. In addition, the five isolates were tested for their differentiation activity of 3T3-L1 preadipocytes. The results showed that these compounds could dose-dependently promote adipocyte differentiation without cytotoxicity (IC50 > 100 μM). [ABSTRACT FROM PUBLISHER]
