Abstract

Salmonella have developed a sophisticated machinery to evade immune clearance and promote survival in the infected cells. Previous studies were mostly focused on either bacteria itself or host cells, the interaction mechanism of host-pathogen awaits further exploration. In the present study, we show that Salmonella can exploit mammalian cell non-classical microRNA processing machinery to further process bacterial small non-coding RNAs into microRNA-like fragments. Sal-1, one such fragment with the highest copy number in the infected cells, is derived from Salmonella 5-leader of the ribosomal RNA transcript and has a stem structure-containing precursor. Processing of Sal-1 precursors to mature Sal-1 is dependent on host cell Argonaute 2 (AGO2) but not Dicer. Functionally, depleting cellular Sal-1 strongly renders the Salmonella bacteria less resistant to the host defenses both in vitro and in vivo. In conclusion, we demonstrate a novel strategy for Salmonella evading the host immune clearance, in which Salmonella produce microRNA-like functional RNA fragments to establish a microenvironment facilitating bacterial survival.

Abstract

A severe disease was observed on sunflower (Helianthus annuus L.) in Ili, Xinjiang China, in 2005. The causal agent was isolated from infected tissues, and its pathogenicity confirmed. Pathogenicity tests showed that the fungus could infect sunflower, which developed the same symptoms under artificial inoculation conditions to those observed in the field. The fungus was identified based on morphological and cultural characteristics as Phoma macdonaldii Boerema. Identifications were confirmed by comparison of the 18S rDNA partial sequence, 28S rDNA partial sequence, and the internal transcribed spacer (ITS) regions 1 and 2, including 5.8S rDNA (ITS1‐5.8S-ITS2). This is the first report of black stem of sunflower caused by P. macdonaldii in China.

Abstract

In order to solve the problem of low accuracy(≥ 10 arcsec) in traditional real-time horizontal measurement methods,this paper introduces a new real time measurement method for the dynamic attitudes of a survey ship based on optical measurement.The model of "precise optical angle encoder measurement+inertia synchronous duplex platform+horizontal attitude error detection tool" is designed to ensure the tracking stability and to improve the measurement accuracy.Experimental results show that this method can provide more stable attitude data of the survey ship with greater precision(pitch:5.37 arcsec,rolling:3.60 arcsec) than those of the traditional Inertial Navigation System(INS).As a universal standard of precise measurement for moving carriers,this design can provide accurate real-time level of baseline information,or the accuracy level for INS accreditation of moving carriers.

Abstract

FastDB is an open source real-time database with characteristics of high efficiency and the object oriented, supporting the various object-oriented, running on different operating system platform, convenient for realizing CIM data access mechanism. Through the analysis of CIM data access mechanism, this paper states the methods of the resources location, data query, data describing in the process of data access. The realization code, the function and exception handling methods of CIM data access interface ResourceIDService, ResourceQueryService code based on FastDB are given. FastDB can effectively use CPU cycles and memory, to some extent, meet real-time requirements of the system on the data, and increase the development, maintenance efficiency of the whole system in the different industries.

Abstract

A single opto-electrical and radar integration system was designed and the feasibility to apply the system to measurement of three dimensional attitudes of flying targets was discussed.Then,the principles,algorithms and measuring errors of the system were researched. According to three-dimensional attitude computer methods,the system's key technical indicators were determined,and the effective distance and the attitude measurement accuracy of the system for a simulated target was analyzed.The results show that the effective distance to the simulated target distance is more than 60 km,and the real-time three-dimensional attitude measurement accuracy is less than 120′.By use of the exiting device,a single-station measurement experiment to the real-time three-dimensional attitude of the target was performed and the results show it is feasible to measure the three-dimensional attitudes of targets by single opto-electrical and radar integration instruments,which not only can improve measuring accuracy and working efficiency and also can eliminate the restriction for measuring instrument distribution.

Abstract

This paper studies conformal invariance and generalized Hojman conserved quantities of mechanico-electrical systems. The definition and the determining equation of conformal invariance for mechanico-electrical systems are provided. The conformal factor expression is deduced from conformal invariance and Lie symmetry under the infinitesimal single-parameter transformation group. The generalized Hojman conserved quantities from the conformal invariance of the system are given. An example is given to illustrate the application of the result.

Abstract

The unified symmetry of mechano-electrical systems with nonholonomic constraints are studied in this paper, the definition and the criterion of unified symmetry of mechano-electrical systems with nonholonomic constraints are derived from the Lagrange–Maxwell equations. The Noether conserved quantity, Hojman conserved quantity and Mei conserved quantity are then deduced from the unified symmetry. An example is given to illustrate the application of the results.
