The objective was to explore the support given to community health workers who use the integrated management of childhood illness (IMCI) approach and describe the supervision given to them. A non-experimental, exploratory, descriptive, quantitative design was used for this study. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire; 305 were interviewed (30% sample). The data were double entered, cleaned, and analyzed using Statistics Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) 19. Support and supervision in Rwanda are provided by the base institution and by supervisors. CHWs often had a shortage of drugs and equipment (63.3%) and 87.5% have experienced run out of equipment, medicines, and consumables. This created barriers to caring for sick children. To improve institutional support for community health workers, regular and continuous supportive supervision and supplies are essential. O objetivo foi explorar o apoio e descrever a supervisão de agentes comunitários de saúde que implementam o programa de atenção integrada às doenças prevalentes na infância (AIDPI). Um desenho não experimental, exploratório, descritivo e quantitativo foi adotado neste estudo. Os dados foram coletados entre 305 participantes (30% da população) por meio de um questionário estruturado. Dupla digitação foi utilizada e os dados foram limpos e analisados usando o Statistics Package of Social Sciences (SPSS) 19. Em Ruanda, o apoio e supervisão são fornecidos pela instituição base e supervisores. Os agentes comunitários de saúde (ACS) frequentemente enfrentam escassez de medicamentos e equipamentos (63,3%) e 87,5% ficaram sem equipamentos, medicamentos e consumíveis, o que criou barreiras para a assistência das crianças doentes. Para melhorar o apoio institucional dado aos agentes comunitários de saúde, supervisão de apoio contínua e regular, além do fornecimento de suprimentos, é essencial.

Vulnerable women are considered a priority in public policies and research agendas. It is necessary to understand better the specificities of their daily lives and the meanings they attribute to their experiences, as this undoubtedly contributes to more grounded and culturally appropriate practices. Additionally, innovative techniques in qualitative research are demanded in academia. This narrative research study was carried out with fourteen women from a Brazilian socioeconomically vulnerable neighborhood. We used the body-mapping technique to investigate the experiences of women with mental health disorders or psychosocial distress. The aim was to analyze the self-perception about daily stressors and discuss the feasibility of this technique to facilitate this group’s storytelling. Data collection was performed through focus groups, guided by the body-mapping technique steps, and supplemented with individual interviews. Interpersonal conflicts and violence were the main stressors. These strongly impacted the well-being of these women and their children. Some important personal qualities and resilience were identified. Body-mapping played a fundamental role in facilitating storytelling. It amplified the linguistic possibilities for participants to express their feelings and promoted reflections about the present, past, and glimpses into the future.

Upodobitev delavcev v dramskih besedilih Gorana Ferčca in Vinka Möderndorferja Diplomska naloga želi raziskati, kako so delavci ali delavski kolektivi upodobljeni v uprizoritvenih besedilih Gorana Ferčca, zbranih v Radnički trilogiji (2018), v primerjavi z dramo Vaje iz tesnobe (2012) Vinka Möderndorferja. Sklepamo lahko, da želita dramatika s svojimi besedili bralce/gledalce aktivirati, prebuditi, za kar ubereta različna pristopa. Goran Ferčec v trilogiji prikaže lok emancipacije delavcev od neuspele stavke do končnega prevrata kapitalizma. V svojem postdramskem pisanju delavce oblikuje kot tipe, definirane predvsem z njihovim družbenim položajem, ki predstavljajo celotno skupnost izkoriščanih delavcev. Pri tem se opre na Marxovo in Engelsovo dojemanje družbene stratifikacije in razreda ter delavce združuje v kolektive. Möderndorfer pa v Vajah iz tesnobe prikaže nasprotno stanje, kjer se dihotomija izkoriščevalec–izkoriščani v kratkih sekvencah, ki spominjajo na tehniko filmske montaže, zabriše. Prikazana družba je individualizirana in bolj razslojena, meje med posameznimi sloji pa niso več jasne. Ker se dramatik zgleduje po gledališču »u fris« ali novi evropski drami, so prizori eksplicitni, kruti in polni verbalnega, fizičnega in spolnega nasilja. Radnička trilogija želi bralce/gledalce nagovoriti z utopičnimi podobami delavcev, ki se kot kolektivno telo gibljejo k uspehu, Vaje iz tesnobe pa pretresejo njihova čustva z distopičnimi podobami, ki spominjajo na realnost. Vendar se zastavlja vprašanje, ali je sploh katero od besedil uspešno v nagovarjanju občinstev k aktivaciji, saj lahko Radnička trilogija deluje naivno in utopično, Vaje iz tesnobe pa ne ponudijo izhoda, ki bi zares prebudil upanje. Representation of Workers in Theatre Plays by Goran Ferčec and Vinko Mödendorfer The thesis aims to investigate how workers or workers' collectives are portrayed in Goran Ferčec's performance texts collected in Radnička trilogija (2018) in comparison with Vinko Möderndorfer's play Vaje iz tesnobe (2012). We can conclude that the two playwrights want to activate the readers/viewers, for which they take different approaches. Goran Ferčec's trilogy traces the arc of workers' emancipation from the failed strike to the final overthrow of capitalism. In his post-dramatic writing, he frames workers as types who are primarily defined by their social position and who represent the whole community of exploited workers. Grouping workers into collectives, he draws on Marx's and Engels's notions of social stratification and class. In Vaje iz tesnobe, Möderndorfer shows the opposite situation. Short sequences reminiscent of film editing techniques blur the dichotomy of exploiter and exploited. He depicts an individualised and more stratified society, where the boundaries between the different classes are no longer clear. As the playwright is inspired by the in-your-face/the new European drama, the scenes are explicit, cruel, and full of verbal, physical and sexual violence. Radnička trilogija addresses the readers/viewers with utopian images of workers moving towards success as a collective body, while Vaje iz tesnobe shakes their emotions with dystopian images that resemble reality. However, it is questionable whether any of the texts is successful in its appeal to activate the audience. Radnička trilogija can come across as naïve and utopian, while Vaje iz tesnobe does not offer escape that truly awakens hope.

Background and aims An increased risk of small bowel carcinoma [SBC] has been reported in coeliac disease [CD] and Crohn's disease [CrD]. We explored clinico-pathological, molecular, and prognostic features of CD-associated SBC [CD-SBC] and CrD-associated SBC [CrD-SBC] in comparison with sporadic SBC [spo-SBC]. Methods A total of 76 patients undergoing surgical resection for non-familial SBC [26 CD-SBC, 25 CrD-SBC, 25 spo-SBC] were retrospectively enrolled to investigate patients' survival and histological and molecular features including microsatellite instability [MSI] and KRAS/NRAS, BRAF, PIK3CA, TP53, HER2 gene alterations. Results CD-SBC showed a significantly better sex-, age-, and stage-adjusted overall and cancer-specific survival than CrD-SBC, whereas no significant difference was found between spo-SBC and either CD-SBC or CrD-SBC. CD-SBC exhibited a significantly higher rate of MSI and median tumour-infiltrating lymphocytes [TIL] than CrD-SBC and spo-SBC. Among the whole SBC series, both MSI─which was the result of MLH1 promoter methylation in all but one cases─and high TIL density were associated with improved survival at univariable and stage-inclusive multivariable analysis. However, only TILs retained prognostic power when clinical subgroups were added to the multivariable model. KRAS mutation and HER2 amplification were detected in 30% and 7% of cases, respectively, without prognostic implications. Conclusions In comparison with CrD-SBC, CD-SBC patients harbour MSI and high TILs more frequently and show better outcome. This seems mainly due to their higher TIL density, which at multivariable analysis showed an independent prognostic value. MSI/TIL status, KRAS mutations and HER2 amplification might help in stratifying patients for targeted anti-cancer therapy.

This research aimed to find out how the rice farming community of Kampung Parit Bugis is making efforts to maintain their profession. The method used in this study is a qualitative method with a descriptive approach with interviews, observations, and documentation. The interviews were special interviews with rice farmers only, after which the information obtained in the field was interpreted using descriptive analysis techniques. After research, it was found that the low level of education and lack of job opportunities allowed farmers to survive and continue to practice their profession. The rice farmer's job has been passed down through generations, and their expertise is only in farming. The efforts of rice farmers in Parit Bugis Village to survive are by making savings by minimizing household expenses, optimizing existing resources, doing other work to find an extra income outside of their work, and taking advantage of family members where they take advantage of their family members. to be able to help in their daily needs and to build networks with the formation of farmers' groups to strengthen and maintain the continuity of their profession
