423. Ultra-fast amorphization of crystalline alloys by ultrasonic vibrations.

Abstract

• A facile and rapid solid-state amorphization method was discovered. • The tuning of amorphous content was achieved. • Ultrasonic vibration method exhibits an outstanding time advantage than other methods. • The elements redistribute uniformly and rapidly under ultrasonic vibration. • A new order-disorder transition mechanism was introduced. The amorphization of alloys is of both broad scientific interests and engineering significance. Despite considered as an efficient strategy to regulate and even achieve record-breaking properties of metallic materials, a facile and rapid method to trigger solid-state amorphization is still being pursued. Here we report such a method to utilize ultrasonic vibration to trigger amorphization of intermetallic compound. The ultrasonic vibrations can cause tunable amorphization at room temperature and low stress (2 MPa) conveniently. Remarkably, the ultrasonic-induced amorphization could be achieved in 60 s, which is 360 times faster than the ball milling (2.16 × 104 s) with the similar proportion of amorphization. The elements redistribute uniformly and rapidly via the activated short-circuit diffusion. Both experimental evidences and simulations show that the amorphous phase initiates and expands at nanograin boundaries, owing to the induction of lattice instability. Abstract

In this study, the enhanced surface properties and microstructure evolution of quenched and tempered cold work die steel Cr12MoV, which were induced by ultrasonic surface rolling process combined with deep cryogenic treatment (UDCT), were systematically investigated. The results indicated that UDCT had an advantage over conventional ultrasonic surface rolling process (USRP) in improving surface mechanical properties, including smaller surface roughness and smoother machined surface with less cracks and defects; higher surface microindentation hardness with the value of ~ 890 HV (increased by ~ 6.2% compared with USRP); and lower friction coefficient. Such enhancements in surface properties are mainly attributed to the martensitic transformation of retained austenite, the dispersion strengthening of small secondary carbides and the homogenized carbides distribution during UDCT.

Abstract

To improve the oxidation resistance of a Mo substrate, a multiphase Mo-Si-B ceramic coating was deposited using a plasma transferred arc (PTA) process. The phase constituents, microstructure, and oxidation resistance of the coating were investigated. The results show that the microstructure of the Mo-Si-B coating is characterised by rod-like Mo 5 SiB 2 dendrites, a lamellar structure of Mo 3 Si/Mo 5 SiB 2 binary eutectics, and cellular Mo 5 Si 3 dendrites. Compared with the Mo substrate, the Mo-Si-B coating exhibits a significant improvement in the oxidation resistance at 1300 °C in an air atmosphere. This is mainly owing to a dense and continuous borosilicate layer formed on the surface of the Mo-Si-B coating, which acts as an oxygen diffusion barrier. Moreover, it is observed that the Mo 5 SiB 2 dendrites exhibit a higher oxidation resistance compared to Mo 3 Si/Mo 5 SiB 2 eutectics during high-temperature oxidation exposure. The oxidation behaviour is discussed based on the oxidation kinetics and a cross-sectional microstructure analysis of the oxidised Mo-Si-B specimen.

Abstract

Hyperspectral imaging technique and artificial neural network were used to investigate the feasibility of the nondestructive prediction for firmness and soluble solids content (SSC) of “Red” and “Green” plums. And the standard normal variation (SNV) was adopted to preprocess original spectral reflectance of region of interests. Then 5 and 28 characteristic wavelengths were selected from 256 full wavelengths by the methods of successive projection algorithm (SPA) and competitive adaptive reweighted sampling (CARS), respectively. An error back propagation (BP) network model was proposed based on selected characteristic variables to predict firmness and SSC of plums. The SSC prediction accuracy of CARS-BP model in calibration set (rc = 0.989, RMESC = 0.451 °Brix) was slightly higher than SPA-BP model (rc = 0.978, RMESC = 0.589 °Brix), while the SSC prediction accuracy of SPA-BP model in prediction set (rp = 0.964, RMESP = 0.778 °Brix) was slightly higher than CARS-BP model (rp = 0.955, RMESP = 0.851 °Brix).

Abstract

With the development of various vertical industry services such as autonomous driving, energy Internet, and smart cities, mobile communication networks need to provide users with ubiquitous high-speed access while using limited network resources to provide differentiated and customized services, the 5G network satisfies the requirement of the future . However, for the access network, there are many types services accessing the network. In order to provide users with diverse personalized services, network slicing scheme is introduced into 5G network. Network slicing is based on the technology of network function virtualization, which can establish multiple virtual private networks in the device according to the needs of users. Each slice is a private network, and different virtual networks are kept isolated from each other. This article studies the access network of the 5G network, in order to ensure the quality of user access, we study the mapping scheme of network slices and NFV to ensure the communication quality of access networks of different user types. Finally, we perform some simulations to verify the proposed method, and the result shows that our proposed can ensure the communication quality for the users which connect into the 5G network.

Abstract

Network traffic plays an important role in network management and network activities. It has an important impact on traffic engineering and network performance. However, we have larger difficulties in capturing and estimating them. This paper proposes a new estimating algorithm to forecast and model network traffic in time-frequency synchronization applications. Our approach is based on the normal regression theory. Firstly, normal regression theory is used to characterize and model network traffic. Secondly, the corresponding normal regression model is created to describe network traffic by finding the model parameters using the samples about network traffic. Finally, the estimation algorithm is proposed to predict network traffic in time-frequency synchronization applications. Simulation results indicate that our approach is effective.

446. Application of dynamic recrystallization model in AZ12 magnesium alloy rolling process

Abstract

To deeply understand the dynamic recrystallization behavior of as-cast AZ12 magnesium alloy in deformation process, the uniaxial hot compression experiments were implemented through systematic isothermal compression experiments. The true strain of thermal compression experiments was set to 50% with temperatures of 200, 250, 300, 350, 400 °C and the strain rates of 0.001, 0.01, 0.1, 1 s−1. The Dynamic Recrystallization (DRX) kinetic model of AZ12 magnesium alloy was established and the accuracy of this model was verified. The model is used to predict the volume fraction of the sheet obtained by rolling through different rolling passes under the condition of consistent total reduction (50%). And the predicted results are in good agreement with the experimental results.
