Abstract

A retinal imaging Adaptive Optical(AO) system with a large Field of View(FOV) was designed to expand the FOV of the retinal image of liquid crystal AO system.Based on analysis of the AO retinal imaging system under an isoplanatic angle,it pointed out that the FOV for wave-front detection should be smaller than a half isoplanatic angle for precise wave-front detection and the half FOV should not be larger than the isoplanatic angle in imaging.A coaxial wave-front detection and optical imaging system was fabricated,meanwhile,an adjustable pupil was used to switch the different FOVs for wave-front detection and imaging,respectively.After adaptive optical wave front correction,the wave-front error is significantly reduced and the FOV for imaging is enlarged from a diameter of 200 μm to 500 μm without any harmful effect on imaging quality.By utilizing an adjustable pupil in the system based on the isoplanatic angle,the retinal image FOV has increased by 2.5 times as compared with that of existing AO system.The applicability of the system on clinical practice is increased a lot by this research.

Palmprint image contains a wealth of global feature and local feature. We designed palmprint identification system based on the global strategy and the integration of local feature. Global feature selected as Fourier characteristic. Local feature selection is Gabor feature. Gabor feature for palmprint into blocks, a set of features the same position is a new feature then through local classifiers as the serial integration. The second local feature classifier layer can be obtained.

Granules developed in S1 were retarded due to the high shear force of highly mixed air bubbles, and they were more solid while the S2 granules were porous with many distinct pores and channels. Mature granules in two series had comparable specific oxygen uptake rate and ammonium-nitrogen uptake rate, which were 37.57 and 39.64 mg O2/(gMLSS ⋅ h), 6.44 and 4.03 mg NH3-N/ (gMLSS ⋅ h) respectively. Moreover, S1 granules contained more extracellular polymeric substances and higher exopolysaccharide content, which resulted higher negative charges.

413. Characterisation of the novel clinical isolate X-4 containing a new tp0548sequence-type

Abstract

ObjectivesA novel tp0548sequence-type was identified in one clinical isolate (X-4) from a patient diagnosed with primary syphilis in Xiamen, China. To precisely define and characterise a new clinical isolate, we performed further genome-scale molecular analysis.MethodsThe pooled segment genome sequencing method followed by Illumina sequencing was performed.ResultsThis novel sequence-type contained a unique nucleotide substitution ‘T’ at position 167 and belonged to the SS14-like clade of TPA strains, as determined by phylogenetic analysis. Multi-locus sequence analysis of nine chromosomal loci demonstrated that the X-4 isolate was clustered within a monophyletic group of TPA strains. Whole-genome phylogenetic analysis subsequently corroborated the TPA strain classification of the X-4 isolate and revealed that the isolate was closely related to the SS14 strain, with 42 single-nucleotide variations and 12 insertions/deletions. In addition, high intrastrain heterogeneity in the length of the poly G/C tracts was found in the TPAChi_0347 locus, which might indicate that this gene of the X-4 isolate is likely involved in phase variation events. The length heterogeneity of the poly A/T tracts was lower than the genetic variability of the poly G/C tracts, and all the observed intrastrain variations fell within coding regions.ConclusionThe novel tp0548sequence-type was determined to belong to a new TPA isolate, X-4. The identification of variable length in homopolymetic tracts (G/C and A/T) could provide a snapshot of the genes that potentially involved in genotype–phenotype variations. These findings provide an unequivocal characterisation for better understanding the molecular variation of this emerging isolate.

Abstract

This study investigated the visible-light catalysis mediated by zeolite NaY on the oxidation of dyes with H2O2. The results demonstrated that zeolite NaY acts as a sink for the electron from the photo-excited dye in the heterogeneous catalysis. Furthermore, the electron can effectively activate H2O2 to produce ·OH radical that is a powerful oxidant for the oxidation of dye at room temperature. The effects of the framework topology, Si/Al ratio, and exchangeable cation of the zeolite on the oxidation of various dyes were also shown.

Abstract

Abstract Objectives The host immune response could be an imperative factor in the pathogenesis of neurosyphilis, but the role of T lymphocyte subsets remains unclear. In the present study, we assessed the CD4+ T and CD8+ T cell subsets in the peripheral blood of patients with HIV-negative symptomatic neurosyphilis and then explored the clinical application value of neurosyphilis. Methods In total, 24 patients with HIV-negative symptomatic neurosyphilis and 22 patients with syphilis/non-neurosyphilis were included in this study and cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) and blood samples were obtained. Th1, Th2, Th17, Th9, CD8+IFN-γ+, CD8+IL-4+, CD8+IL-9+, and CD8+IL-17 + cells were identified by flow cytometry. Results The levels of CD8+IFN-γ+ were significantly increased in the peripheral blood of neurosyphilis patients compared to that in syphilis/non-neurosyphilis patients, but it was opposite to Th2, Th9, CD8+IL-4+, CD8+IL-9+, and CD8+IL-17 + cells. Dendritic cells (DCs) of neurosyphilis matured by T. pallidum induced the development of a combination of IFN-γ-producing Th1 cells. The number of CD8+IL-17 + cells was significantly correlated with the CSF RPR and CSF TPPA levels. ROC curve analysis revealed that the number of CD8+IFN-γ+ cells could be a potential biomarker for neurosyphilis from non-neurosyphilis/syphilis. Conclusions High expression of CD8+IFN-γ+ cells and low expression of CD8+IL-17 + cells in patients with symptomatic neurosyphilis, which explains the pathogenesis of symptomatic neurosyphilis, meanwhile CD8+IFN-γ+ cells may be a better indicator in classifying symptomatic neurosyphilis from non-neurosyphilis/syphilis among patients without HIV infection. Abstract

Annealing effect of the oxygen precipitation and the induced defects have been investigated on the fast neutron irradiated Czochralski silicon (CZ-Si) by infrared absorption spectrum and the optical microscopy. It is found that the fast neutron irradiation greatly accelerates the oxygen precipitation that leads to a sharp decrease of the interstitial oxygen with the annealing time. At room temperature (RT), the 1107cm−1 infrared absorption band of interstitial oxygen becomes weak and broadens to low energy side. At low temperature, the infrared absorption peaks appear at 1078cm−1, 1096cm−1 and 1182cm−1, related to different shapes of the oxygen precipitates. The bulk microdefects, including stacking faults, dislocations and dislocation loops, were observed by the optical microscopy. New or large stacking faults grow up when the silicon self-interstitial atoms are created and aggregate with oxygen precipitation.

445. Unexplored single-layer CdIn2S4: Suitable electronic property and ultrahigh carrier mobility in a wide range of biaxial strains.

Abstract

• Single-layer CdIn 2 S 4 is structurally stable and can be prepared by mechanical exfoliation. • Single-layer CdIn 2 S 4 holds a quasi-direct (direct) moderate bandgaps under the biaxial strains from −4% to 4%. • Single-layer CdIn 2 S 4 exhibits ultrahigh electron mobility under the biaxial strains from −4% to 4%, as well as high separation efficiency of electrons and holes. • Single-layer CdIn 2 S 4 shows blue-shifted (redshifted) absorption under the compressed (tensile) biaxial strains. Two-dimensional semiconductors simultaneously having suitable electronic properties and high carrier motilities are highly required in next-generation photoelectronic devices. Herein, we propose a new single-layer semiconductor, CdIn 2 S 4 , and investigate its photoelectronic properties utilizing first-principles calculations. Interestingly, we find that single-layer CdIn 2 S 4 holds a quasi-direct moderate bandgap of 1.73 eV. Its valence band maximum and conduction band minimum are located at different atomic regions, which hinders the recombination of generated electrons and holes. Hence, single-layer CdIn 2 S 4 has a suitable electronic structure for optoelectronics. The suitable electronic property also exists under the biaxial strains of −4%, −2%, 2 %, and 4 %, while the electron mobility ranges from ∼3000 to ∼11,000 cm2·V−1·s−1, revealing its potential application in high-speed electronics. In addition, its strong visible absorption and much-reduced exciton binding energy render abundant photogenerated electrons and holes. Summarily, the suitable electronic property, ultrahigh carrier mobility, and abundant visible absorption demonstrate that single-layer CdIn 2 S 4 is a hopeful candidate for high-speed optoelectronics. Abstract

Objective:To observe the clinical effect and protection of vascular endothelium of Zhixinkang Capsule (ZXKC) in middle-aged and old people with unstable effort angina and hyperlipidemia.Methods: Sixty-five patients with unstable effort angina were randomly divided into ZXKC group (34 cases) and control group (31 cases). Conventional western medical therapy was given to both groups, with ZXKC group receiving additional ZXKC treatment. Data of 20 healthy persons were taken as normal group. Forty-eight patients with hyperlipidemia were divided into ZXKC group treated with ZXKC (31 cases) and control group treated with Yixintong (17 cases). The changes of clinical symptoms and laboratory indexes in all the patients were observed before and after treatment.Results: In patients with unstable effort angina, the efficacy of treatment of ZXKC, the withdrawal rate of nitroglycerin, the relieving of symptoms, the improvement of the electrocardiogram, the counts of circulating endothelial cells, the content of platelet P-selectin, the content of plasma endothelin (ET), the activity of Superoxide dismutase (SOD) and the activity of malonyldialdehyde (MDA) were all better than those in the control group. In patients with hyperlipidemia, there was no significant difference in lipids reduction between ZXKC group and the control group. In both groups, the total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), low density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-C), lipoprotein(a) [Lp(a)], ET, oxidized low density lipoprotein, MDA, arteriosclerotic index (AI) all lowered obviously, while the SOD, HDL-C and calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) were all elevated markedly. In the ZXKC group, the nitric oxide (NO) increased significantly whereas the ET/CGRP and ET/NO decreased markedly. The total effective rate in symptom relieving, the markedly effective rate, the reduction of TC, ET and ET/CGRP, and the elevation of SOD in ZXKC group were all superior to those in the control group.Conclusion: ZXKC could effectively resist myocardial ischemia, relieve angina, reduce blood lipids, protect vascular endothelial cells, inhibit the activation of platelets, and resist lipid peroxidation.
