Background: Osteoporosis is a common metabolic disorder that significantly impacts quality of life in the elderly population. Macrophages play a crucial role in the development of osteoporosis by regulating bone metabolism through cytokine secretion. However, there is a lack of scholarly literature in the field of bibliometrics on this topic. Objective: This study provides a detailed analysis of the research focus and knowledge structure of macrophage studies in osteoporosis using bibliometrics. Methods: The scientific literature on macrophage research in the context of osteoporosis, retrieved from the Web of Science Core Collection (WoSCC) database spanning from January 1999 to December 2023, has been incorporated for bibliometric examination. The data is methodically analyzed and visually represented using analytical and visualization tools including VOSviewer, CiteSpace, Scimago Graphica, the Bibliometrix R package, and Pajek. Results and Conclusions: In the last quarter‐century, there has been a consistent rise in the quantity of scholarly publications focusing on the relationship between macrophages and osteoporosis, resulting in a total of 1499 research documents. These studies have originated from 45 different countries, with China, South Korea, and the United States being the most prominent contributors, and the United States having the highest frequency of citations. Noteworthy research institutions involved in this field include Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Wonkwang University, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and Seoul National University. The Journal of Bone and Mineral Research is widely regarded as the premier and most frequently referenced publication in the field. These publications involve the collaboration of 8744 authors, with Lee Myeung Su contributing the most articles, and Takayanagi being the most co‐cited author. Key emerging research focal points are encapsulated in keywords such as "mTOR," "BMSCs," "bone regeneration," and "exosome." The relationships between exosome from macrophage sources and those from BMSCs, along with the regulatory role of the mTOR signaling pathway on macrophages, represent crucial directions for future development in this field. This study represents the inaugural comprehensive bibliometric analysis detailing trends and advancements in macrophage research within the osteoporosis domain. Contact interface is essential for the dynamic response of the bolted structures. To accurately predict the dynamic characteristics of bolted joint structures, a fractal extension of the segmented scale model, i.e., the JK model, is proposed in this paper to comprehensively analyze the dynamic contact performance of engineering surfaces and revisit the multi-scale model based on the concept of asperities. The influence of asperity geometry, dimensionless material properties, and the elastic, elastoplastic, and full plastic mechanical models of a single asperity is established considering the asperity–substrate interaction. Then, a segmented scale contact model of rough surfaces is proposed based on the island distribution function in a strict sense. The mechanical contact process of determining rough surfaces is divided into small-scale, medium-scale, and large-scale stages. Moreover, cross-scale boundary conditions, i.e., al1′, al2′, and al3′, are provided through strict mathematical deduction. The results show that the real contact area and contact stiffness are positively correlated with fractal dimension and negatively correlated with fractal roughness. On a small scale, the contact damping decreases with an increase in load. In meso-scale and large-scale stages, the contact damping increases with the load. Numerical solving the Schrödinger equation with incommensurate potentials presents a great challenge since its solutions could be space-filling quasiperiodic structures without translational symmetry nor decay. In this paper, we propose two high-accuracy numerical methods to solve the time-dependent quasiperiodic Schrödinger equation. Concretely, we discretize the spatial variables by the quasiperiodic spectral method and the projection method, and the time variable by the second-order operator splitting method. The corresponding convergence analysis is also presented and shows that the proposed methods both have spectral convergence rates in space and second order accuracy in time, respectively. Meanwhile, we analyse the computational complexity of these numerical algorithms. Background: Neoadjuvant chemoradiotherapy (nCRT) stands as a pivotal therapeutic approach for locally advanced rectal cancer (LARC), yet the absence of a reliable biomarker to forecast its efficacy remains a challenge. Thus, this study aimed to assess whether the proteomic compositions of small extracellular vesicles (sEVs) might offer predictive insights into nCRT response among patients with LARC, while also delving into the proteomic alterations within sEVs post nCRT. Methods: Plasma samples were obtained from LARC patients both pre- and post-nCRT. Plasma-derived sEVs were isolated utilizing the TIO2-based method, followed by LC-MS/MS-based proteomic analysis. Subsequently, pathway enrichment analysis was performed to the Differentially Expressed Proteins (DEPs). Additionally, ROC curves were generated to evaluate the predictive potential of sEV proteins in determining nCRT response. Public databases were interrogated to identify sEV protein-associated genes that are correlated with the response to nCRT in LARC. Results: A total of 16 patients were enrolled. Among them, 8 patients achieved a pathological complete response (good responders, GR), while the remaining 8 did not achieve a complete response (poor responders, PR). Our analysis of pretreatment plasma-derived sEVs revealed 67 significantly up-regulated DEPs and 9 significantly down-regulated DEPs. Notably, PROC (AUC: 0.922), F7 (AUC: 0.953) and AZU1 (AUC: 0.906) demonstrated high AUC values and significant differences (P value < 0.05) in discriminating between GR and PR patients. Furthermore, a signature consisting of 5 sEV protein-associated genes (S100A6, ENO1, MIF, PRDX6 and MYL6) was capable of predicting the response to nCRT, yielding an AUC of 0.621(95% CI: 0.454–0.788). Besides, this 5-sEV protein-associated gene signature enabled stratification of patients into low- and high-risk group, with the low-risk group demonstrating a longer overall survival in the testing set (P = 0.048). Moreover, our investigation identified 11 significantly up-regulated DEPs and 31 significantly down-regulated DEPs when comparing pre- and post-nCRT proteomic profiles. GO analysis unveiled enrichment in the regulation of phospholipase A2 activity. Conclusions: Differential expression of sEV proteins distinguishes between GR and PR patients and holds promise as predictive markers for nCRT response and prognosis in patients with LARC. Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a common disease of the central nervous system. circRNAs play a crucial role in neurological disease. The purpose of this study was to investigate the role of circ-KATNAL1 in SCI and its regulatory mechanism. T9-L10 spinal segment of Sprague Dawley rats was compressed or contused after T10 laminectomy to establish the SCI rat model. Then, rats were divided into SCI group, si-NC group, si-circ-KATNAL1 group, si-circ-KATNAL1 + antagomir NC group, si-circ-KATNAL1 + miR-98-5p antagomir group, si-circ-KATNAL1 + oe-NC group, and si-circ-KATNAL1 + oe-PRDM5 group, with 6 rats in each group. There was another sham operation group that received no treatment. Basso, Beattie, and Bresnahan (BBB) scores were used to evaluate the neural function of rats. In addition to that, the pathological changes of spinal cord tissue, neuronal apoptosis, and inflammatory responses were correspondingly observed and analyzed. Quantitative measurements of circ-KATNAL1, miR-98-5p, and PRDM5 levels were conducted, as well as analyses of their interrelationship. Circ-KATNAL1 was up-regulated in the spinal cord tissue of SCI rats, and circ-KATNAL1 knockdown could improve neural function, alleviate pathological changes of spinal cord tissue, and inhibit neuronal apoptosis and inflammatory responses in SCI rats. For miR-98-5p, circ-KATNAL1 was an upstream factor, while PRDM5 was a downstream actor. miR-98-5p deficiency or PRDM5 restoration impaired the remission effect of circ-KATNAL1 knockdown on SCI. Lithium cobalt oxide (LiCoO2) is an irreplaceable cathode material for lithium‐ion batteries with high volumetric energy density. The prevailing O3 phase LiCoO2 adopts the ABCABC (A, B, and C stand for lattice sites in the close‐packed plane) stacking modes of close‐packed oxygen atoms. Currently, the focus of LiCoO2 development is application at high voltage (>4.55 V versus Li+/Li) to achieve a high specific capacity (>190 mAh g−1). However, cycled with a high cutoff voltage, O3–LiCoO2 suffers from rapid capacity decay. The causes of failure are mostly attributed to the irreversible transitions to H1‐3/O1 phase after deep delithiation and severe interfacial reactions with electrolytes. In addition to O3, LiCoO2 is also known to crystalize in an O2 phase with ABAC stacking. Since its discovery, little is known about the high‐voltage behavior of O2–LiCoO2. Herein, through systematic comparison between electrochemical performances of O3 and O2 LiCoO2 at high voltage, the significantly better stability of O2–LiCoO2 (>4.5 V) than that of O3–LiCoO2 in the same micro‐sized particle morphology is revealed. Combining various characterization techniques and multiscale simulation, the outstanding high‐voltage stability of O2–LiCoO2 is attributed to the high Li diffusivity and ideal mechanical properties. Residents are actively involved in patient assessment and all aspects of patient care, and they are critical in providing nutritional support education and treatment for patients with cancer. This study aims to assess the nutritional knowledge and performance of resident physicians, providing insights into existing gaps in awareness and practices related to cancer nutrition. A total of 300 resident physicians undergoing standardized residency training in China participated in this study. An anonymous online questionnaire covering demographic characteristics, nutritional knowledge, clinical practice, and training requirements was designed and administered through the "Wenjuanxing" platform. Data were collected from June 1, 2023, to July 31, 2023. Among the participants, only 40.00% demonstrated adequate knowledge of cancer nutrition, and merely 32.00% exhibited proficient performance in nutritional care. Socio-demographic analysis revealed that residents without affiliations and those specializing in obstetrics and gynecology had superior knowledge, while surgery specialists showed significantly worse performance. Most participants expressed a lack of exposure to cancer nutrition education during academic and standardized residency training. The study highlights the demand for enhanced education and the preference for case-based teaching methods. The findings underscore an urgent need for comprehensive oncology nutrition education within China's standardized residency training. Targeted interventions and curriculum enhancements are essential to improve medical talent development and enhance patient care outcomes in oncology.
