This study's aim is to adapt the theory of technostress creators and inhibitors (Ragu-Nathan et al. 2008; Inf Sys Res 19(4):417–433. https://doi.org/10.1287/isre.1070.0165) culturally and linguistically to the French context and evaluate it from the perspective of occupational psychology and ergonomics. This research was divided into two parts. The first included the development of a French version of the scale using the backtranslation method, an assessment of content validity on the advice of expert judges in ergonomics and occupational psychology, and a study of the clarity of the items after the application of this preliminary version to a population similar to the target population. The second part of this research included the psychometric analysis of the French version of the scale after its application to a sample of French workers (n = 307). This process included an evaluation of its internal consistency, an evaluation of its internal structure using a confirmatory factor analysis and of its construct validity using one of the dimensions of the mental workload scale, i.e., available resources (Galy 2020; uant Methods Psychol 16(3):240–252. https://doi.org/10.20982/tqmp.16.3.p240). The results indicate an optimal level of internal consistency of the dimensions, except for dimensions of Techno-Invasion and Techno-Insecurity. Likewise, the results of the confirmatory factor analysis led to the suppression of two measurement items within these same dimensions. Background: Biochemical markers and imaging tests have been used with the aim of stratifying the risk and detecting atrial fibrosis. Speckle-tracking echocardiography (STE) is used for the detection of atrial fibrosis and Gal-3 provides an important prognostic value. The objective of the study was to assess the association between atrial fibrosis markers and serum levels, genetic polymorphisms and genic expression of galectin-3. Methods: 206 patients with permanent AF and 70 patients with paroxysmal AF were included in the study. Real time PCR (TaqMan) system was used to study SNPs rs4652 and 4644 of the gene LGALS3. Serum levels of Gal-3 were determined by ELISA and STE was performed to assess fibrosis. Results: Mean age of individuals with permanent AF was 66.56 ± 12 years. As for the echocardiography results, those patients showed an decrease in the following parameters peak atrial longitudinal strain (PALS) (p = 0.002) when compared to the same parameters from the paroxysmal AF group of patients. There was a correlation between serum levels of Gal-3 and PALS in the group of patients with permanent AF; the lower the levels of gal-3, the lower the LA strain (r = 0.24; p = 0.01). Conclusions: Echocardiographic findings showed association with the groups, and with serum levels of Gal-3 in patients with permanent AF. The distribution of allelic and genotypic frequencies, and of the haplotypes of polymorphism LGALS3 rs4652 and rs4644 did not present statistical variation, which suggests that those SNPs are not associated with the AF clinical forms (permanent and paroxysmal). The term in vitro photomixotrophism refers to the ability of explants to obtain metabolic energy from the culture medium and as a product of photosynthesis. The objective of this research was to study the physiological and biochemical mechanisms of V. planifolia during in vitro multiplication using a photomixotrophic system with different sucrose contents (0, 15 and 30 g L–1) and CO2 supply levels (500, 800 and 1200 ppm) using a Temporary Immersion Modular System (SMIT®). After 45 days of multiplication, response percentage, number of shoots per explant, shoot length, number of leaves per shoot, stomatal index (%), percentage of closed stomata, and chlorophyll, β-carotene, Phosphoenolpyruvate (PEP) and Rubisco contents were evaluated. In addition, the survival rate during acclimatization at 60 days was evaluated. For the multiplication stage, the highest response percentage was obtained in the treatments with 15 g L–1 sucrose with 500 and 800 ppm CO2, and 30 g L–1 sucrose with 500 ppm CO2. In the latter treatment, the best development parameters were obtained, with 14.75 shoots per explant, a shoot length of 2.38 cm and 2.5 leaves per shoot. In general, the highest chlorophyll, β-carotene, PEP and Rubisco contents were observed with 30 g L–1 sucrose + CO2. No effects of the treatments on stomatal index (%) were observed, while the percentage of closed stomata showed differences among treatments. At the acclimatization stage, the highest survival percentages were obtained from the treatments of 30 g L–1 sucrose with 500 and 800 ppm CO2. In conclusion, this study demonstrates physiological and biochemical mechanisms for a better understanding of photomixotrophism during in vitro multiplication in vanilla and may be applied to other species. Swimming performance achieved in 50-m, 100-m and 200-m events in each swimming stroke can have an influence on the final performance in individual medley (IM) events. We attempted to quantify the relative contributions of performance in individual stroke events to top-10 world ranked IM competition performance. We examined competition results of top-10 world ranked IM swimmers (90 males and 90 females) between 2012 and 2018. A general linear model was developed to examine association between the 200-m and 400-mIM and predictor variables of competition performance in other 50-m, 100-m, and 200-m events. The main predictor variable for 200-mIM medalist status was having scored more than 900 FINA points in at least one 100-m event. Scoring more than 800 FINA points in at least two 200-mIM events, and more than 900 FINA points in at least one 100-m event, was important for success in the 400-mIM.
